1 gal Flood FLD6 Floetrol Latex Paint Additive
Floetrol is a latex paint conditioner, not a thinner. It maintains and fortifies the qualities of latex paint, unlike water
It also improves the coverage of most paints, providing an exceptional value for the money
It extends the wet edge of the paint, which gives you the time to create the look you want or correct the mistakes you’ve made
For interior or exterior latex paints
Allows paint to adjust to difficult weather conditions, such as extreme hot and cold temperatures or high humidity

The product does exactly what it said it does. I use it all the time for my ART. However, the packaging was not very professional. The gallon of FLOOD was put into the box laying down, the cover was never checked and it leaked all over inside the box. 1. Should be placed in a box standing as it would on a shelf and packing material or other products support the UP RIGHT position. 2. Liquids covers should always be checked that they are closed and in a locked position and taped. It was a mess to clean off all the 2 oz. acrylics packed with it.Read more

I still add WD40 for more cell like features, but it does the job and doesn’t change the paint color, nice fluidity. Will buy again.Read more

I have been using floetrol in my acrylic paints for all types of artwork but especially for my acrylic pours. I have tried several other products, including glue all, but none of them can compare to the smoothness and the effects you get with floetrol. A great product! Here’s a helpful hint, if you find the product comes out a little bit gloppy, use cheesecloth or a strainer, it will help tremendously. The glop has nothing to do with the age of the product, it is strictly because of the type of product it is.Read more

We use Floetrol for acrylic flow painting. We mix about 50% floetrol, 45% Artist’s Loft acrylic pouring paint, and 5% water or alcohol. (we use less paint in the formula when using the tubes of acrylic paint rather than the large bottles of already thinned paint.) The resulting individual colors stay well-separated during mixing and pouring, maintain good color intensity after drying, and will hold an edge if you don’t cover the entire canvass (see attached image of a pour onto black canvass). We always get good cells when using silicone. With Amazon Prime I get it on my doorstep for the same price as schlepping it home from Home Despot or Lowers. NOTE: IT IS IMPORTANT TO SHAKE THE FLOETROL JUG before mixing EACH color; Floetrol separates rapidly, and since you are using so little, even a small separation is problematic and can give “watery” results. Happy painting!Read more

I was hesitant to try, but am glad I did. I used this with Behr Premium latex to paint our dated, double-sink oak bathroom vanity. I used a ratio of 4:1. I was alarmed at first because I thought the color looked odd – but patience, patience is what it took to convince me otherwise! The paint dried to the exact color as expected. The brush strokes were so shallow – almost non-existent; and the wood grain pattern came through beautifully. Next project, I also used the Floetrol to paint the kitchen island (Muted Sage, Behr Premium Plus). I decided to spray it on this time. I had ordered the cheap TCP spray gun with the 2.5mm tip here on Amazon. For this purpose, I thinned the paint mixture 4:2:2 (paint : Floetrol : distilled water), I have to say, I was not satisfied with the spray pattern; despite the settings, the paint was delivered too thickly – and would definitely require brushing for me to have nearly the desired outcome. I paint cars on the side, so I do know my way around a spray gun. I figured the 2.5mm tip was too large for the texture which I was seeking; so then I switched to one of my other guns with 1.3mm tip. The paint sprayed-on smooth as silk! The cabinets now look totally brand new, and we used less than 1/4 of the gallon to spray the entire kitchen island! I will continue to use Floetrol. In my opinion it’s good stuff, and I recommend its use.Read more

I order this product for using as a medium to mix with acrylic paint. I’ve usually been happy with the product, but this last bottle was full of congealed product. I had to strain it to remove the strings of product before I could add it(which I always do because there is always a little stuff in it). However this was so bad that it wouldn’t even go through the strainer because of all the stringy lumps. I had to clean the strainer out for every 6 oz of product before it would be clear to strain more, so I actually only got 3/4 of usable product. Very disappointed, and I hope this doesn’t happen again because I’m not saving any money by having to throw some of it away. SorryRead more

Has a mixing medium this is the #one suggested product to purchase for paint pouring. I have had no issues with this product. it works great. I first bought a small bottle then realize the better purchase is the gallon.Read more

I’ve recently started trying my hand at acrylic paint pouring. I went through 2 quart size bottles of Floetrol very quickly and decided to buy a gallon because it’s a bit more cost effective. Imagine my dismay when i opened the jug and it smelled like rotting vegetables or some other organic material. I don’t remember if my smaller bottles had a seal on them (bought them last year) but this big bottle did not. My small bottles smell normal (kind of a white glue scent). This gallon jug smells nothing like the small bottles. I couldn’t return it because I needed it for a gift I’m making for someone. I’ve managed to camouflage the horrible smell with lemon extract and hopefully it won’t affect the results of my painting- short term or long term but I’m hesitant to order another gallon size jug. At least from Amazon.Read more
