For context, the closest thing I’ve used to another drawing tablet is a Surface Pro 4 with the included pen, which I no longer own. I only got into drawing a couple months ago. I started by buying a $50 non-screen drawing tablet, which I wasn’t thrilled with due to its ergonomics and it just being hard to draw without looking at what you’re doing. I was hesitant to buy a display tablet so soon after, because I’m so new to drawing and didn’t know if I’d stick with it, but I knew it would offer a better experience and decided to pull the trigger. It’s great. The 16″ size seems like plenty so far, it’s thin and light for the display size, the display quality is good, the 1080p resolution fares better than I expected, and the pen is really good. On my cheaper tablet the buttons were too large and got accidentally clicked all the time; not an issue here. It has more buttons than most competitors, which is good because I ended making use of every single one. It’s one of few affordable display tablets that supports USB-C, which is great. Significantly, even though Huion says that they “recommend” plugging it into the wall when connecting it to your computer via USB-C, in my experience connecting it to a MacBook Pro, *it runs just fine off of the single USB-C cable only, being powered by the computer over that single connection* which is really great. One thing I didn’t like about drawing on my Surface was that it was very slippery. The matte screen protector on this device gives it a little bit of a texture. Not nearly as much as paper, but enough to give it a better feel than a regular touchscreen device. I feel like this slight texture is important to help give the pen some stability when drawing. Another advantage over the surface is that the pen-sensitive area actually extends a bit past the display on all sides. This is great because it means the line doesn’t suddenly disappear when you hit the edge, and it makes it easier to interact with UI on the very edge of the screen. Downsides: Not much. The driver for macOS running on Big Sur is a little glitchy sometimes, but for the most part it works OK. I do wish there was an option to have a button alternate between two functions, which would be great for apps like Photoshop that don’t support “momentary” activation of many tools. Also, skip the Huion ST200 stand; it’s well built but there are big gaps in the angle adjustments; it’s either very low or very high. I think the value here is really good, and it seems like a great purchase for any beginner to intermediate artist, and possibly even for pros.Read more

I’ve been using standard art tablets for a while now, and decided to switch out my Wacom Intuos Pro for a pen tablet. After trying XP-Pen and having horrible experiences, I gave Huion a try with this tablet and couldn’t be happier. Drawing on this tablet is smooth, and I haven’t noticed much if any lag with the pen strokes. The calibration was also perfect right out of the box, so I didn’t need to fiddle too much with the settings to get the pen tip lined up with the cursor. Upgrading to a pen tablet is honestly kind of life changing, and this is a great one for people like me who are just starting out on them.Read more

This tablet is amazing — not too sensitive, works well, easy to adjust and use, and I’ve gotten way better at art with it. The one major drawback, however, is that there’s a plastic hole, and within it, the port is depressed. The hole itself is very small, unfortunately; so much so that the vast majority of USB-C cables won’t work with it. You’ll have to exclusively use the one that comes with the tablet, which is only about double the length of the tablet itself — not very long, and hard if you have a desktop and need to plug it in under a table. It’s always been a bit impossible to use because of the cable, and it feels like I’ve spent more money trying to get a back-up cable than I did on the actual device itself. Each one is just *slightly* too big to fit in, and there’s nothing I can do. Rather disappointing, and I wish I’d’ve known that before I committed to buying it. Check the pictures for the area around ports carefully before choosing your tablet — you could be like me, and end up stuck with a lovely tablet you can barely use because of a silly plastic covering!Read more

TLDR: Im an experienced tablet user that’s been around the market. This is phenomenal for those looking for a cheaper option to go with as opposed to other screen tablets on the market. Definitely worth the price. I’ve been around the market with various different tablets and I’ve always preached for Wacom. I’ve had XP Pen, Huion, and Wacom thus far. HOWEVER, because of the insane prices Wacom graphic tablets go for, even pre-owned, I’ve never bought one. I had an early model of XP Pen’s 15 inch graphics tablet that didn’t work out for me due to faulty cables and buggy drivers. So I settled with a Huiom GT-190. A big 20 inch screen tablet that I instantly fell in love with. But I quickly fell out of love due to the amount of space it took up and how much of a hassle it was to set it up. Not to mention how dated it was with no express keys and poor color matching, in my case at least. So I decided to take the leap and buy this one. A technical downgrade in terms of size, but definitely an over all upgrade and I’m super happy I bought it. The express keys are nice and convenient, though I prefer using a keyboard for shortcuts just from personal preference. No problems setting it up out of the box (although DEFINITELY uninstall any other tablet drivers because that was an issue I had that wasn’t the tablets fault) Responsiveness and sensitivity out of the box was great too. I’ve needed to adjust to it because of the size, but even then it’s perfect for the space I have for it. Easy to set up and remove. I plan on doing traveling eventually so I imagine this’ll be good for that too. Great for beginners, good for those looking for an upgrade or just a screen tablet that’s small/portable without the insane price tag of a Wacom tablet or iPad. I haven’t tried the phone connectivity of anything since that’s not really something I’m interested in.Read more

Bought this to use with ZBrush. Not sensitive enough for the detailed subtle textures and brush strokes needed to create realistic sculpture in ZBrush, returned it and got a Wacom Cintiq 16. That is what you want for Zbrush.Read more
