5/20 (given 1 star)- Unfortunately I will be returning these, although they are very cute that do not work. We had them outside for two days before we attempted to use them to be sure they were charged and even after that they would barely flicker on.. we then figured out the light cord was extremely sensitive and positional on the solar box and that was the only way they would work. When they did work, they were very cute. I attempted to call the company twice and sent them an email with no response. UPDATE: 5/22- I heard back from the company the said they would be sending me new lights 5/29 (updated to 3 stars because of customer service)- I received the new lights today, will have take a few days to “charge” the solar panel and update again afterwards. 6/1 after letting the lights charge, they work wonderfully and are decently bright. Change my review to 4 stars.Read more

These are very nice solar string lights. They do a great job! We had an overcast all day and they still lit up brightly at night, but only for about 2-3 hours. On days there was heavy sun, they stayed on for hours. I love that they are shatterproof and weatherproof, also! So far, I’m quite pleased!! I keep them on steady mode, but it is great having the other options available as well.Read more

I received these yesterday and had enough sunlight to charge them. I am so amazed how bright they are, it was around 9pm when I took these. Not the best pictures but it captures the brightness, I’ve bought many, many solar lights and I have finally found what I’ve been looking for. I’m very pleased with my purchaseRead more

I bought 2 strings and lined them along my eaves. I live in a rural area and it’s very dark, so I wanted to light up my front porch. The string on the right was charged via USB and the left one was strictly solar panel. They came on just before dark at 7pm and went off around 6:30am as it just started to get light out. The solar panels are detachable and can be charged via USB or replaced. I attached mine to the eaves, although they can be placed on the ground with the spikes provided. They both burned bright all night!Read more

I bought the 24ft, G40 solar powered lights. The item description says you can string them together and even the directions say you can by popping off the “end cap” and plugging in the next string. However, on this particular model there is NO end cap. My guess is they have the same descriptions and directions for several different models despite them having some differences. Despite that, I think they work really well and look nice. The lighting is “soft” as described and exactly what I was looking for. Super easy to hang and use. The only other complaint I have is the length is a little misleading as they count the 5ft (I didn’t actually measure it so that’s an estimate) lead to the first bulb. I had calculated that I needed 3 strings to surround my fire pit which is exactly 72 feet which means three, 24 ft strings should be exactly enough. However, as you can see by my picture I clearly need another string. The long lead is nice so you can have more flexibility in where you want to mount your solar panels though. I just mounted the solar panels to the posts and plugged the lights in instead of figuring out which model will actually string together as I feel I’d have to read through customer reviews to figure out which ones you can actually do that with. I read some Q&A’s on Amazon where people said they were able to do it but didn’t list the model type. I’ll by buying the 4th string to complete my fire pit surround as they really do look and work nice.Read more

We’ve been wanting lights for our patio for the past few years, but I was hesitant about getting electric-powered lights and having to run ugly cords from our outlets to the lights, and then having to plug/unplug them every night (yes- I could get a timer, but still…ugly cords…). I started exploring solar options because our backyard gets a LOT of afternoon sun in the summer. I looked at several and chose these because of the number of lights on the string versus others of the same length (more lights = more brightness overall). Each light is 1 watt, so you’ll get about 25 watts from the entire string; the more strings you hang, the more light you’ll have. One string is bright enough for what we wanted; we like to burn candles outside as well, so the lights are more for ambience. When the lights arrived, I cleaned each bulb with rubbing alcohol to make sure there was no dust on them and then made sure they were screwed in tightly as other reviews recommended. I also charged the panel with a USB for the first use. As far as installing them, I did not want to staple or nail holes in our trim since our house is only a few years old, so I decided to try the outdoor Command Strips first. I clipped a strip next to each bulb for extra stability (so every 1 ft instead of the suggested 2 ft on the Command Strip instructions) and then tucked the tab behind the wire. It’s been two weeks and they haven’t budged despite lots of rain and Oklahoma winds! As far as the solar panel, I set it on our gutter (it nestles perfectly on top without falling in) so you can hardly see it, but it gets tons of sun. Even with the rain we’ve had lately, we’ve still had plenty of afternoon sun where they have come on bright as can be every night. It’s hard to say how long they stay on since the sun is setting around 9pm right now, but I know they last well past midnight, which should be sufficient for most people. I’ll be curious to see if these last through next year, but the price point is good enough in my opinion that I don’t mind buying a replacement set next year if I have to. I will say there was one review I read where the person complained that the lights were great in the summer, but did not stay lit as long in the winter. Let’s be logical, people- winter days don’t get as much sun AND the earth is at a different angle, so don’t be surprised if they don’t charge as well in the winter.

These are cute solar lights. Below are both pros and cons that I found (in no particular order). -The solar panel is huge (larger than I’ve seen with any of my other numerous solar outdoor lights). You’ll need to accommodate an appropriate spot for it because of such. The cable is also very thin. If you have squirrels, mice or other outdoor backyard visitors that like to chew, use a pool noodle or something to protect the cable that runs from the solar panel to the first light if it’s going to drag. -The lights are small and plastic. I like the shatterproof feature, but I would imagine over time the clear plastic will become etched and dirty and won’t be as clear. I’m hoping I’m wrong. -The lights emit a cool white which I’m not a fan of. I really like warm white lighting, particularly on the patio. Next to my other outdoor solar lights, these look like bright-white little christmas lights, and they don’t dim. The product photo on Amazon is incorrect. The lights are not yellow or warm in any sense of the word. -I like the hooks that are attached to each light as it makes it easy for attaching to my chainlink fence. -I found that this string of lights had more lights than most brands. LIghts are approx 12″ apart, compared to some brands that are 3ft apart. With that being said, they are small lights and other brands have larger lights and perhaps why they are further apart. -I did the first charge using the USB port. Once charged, the solar panel emits a green light behind the panel to indicate that it’s charged. -I dislike that there is no remote AND the only sane setting is “steady” (no blinking). All of the other settings blink enough to give you a seizure, they make no sense, who would like those? The only setting outdoor patio lights should have in my opinion is steady; fade-in and fade-out; and twinkle. These lights don’t offer the last two. -I also dislike that for some reason, these manufacturers make the On/Off switch and the “Mode” switch black identical rubber buttons. Not only can you not see the label in the dark because the label is black on black, they are rubber buttons. You have no idea if it’s enabled or not. Pushing it doesn’t lock it in place. It’s literally a toggle button. I spent a few nights first trying to figure out which push of the on/off was actually “on”, then trying to get the mode setting to not look like Las Vegas or a disco. I’m sure my neighbours had a good laugh.Read more

Nice looking bulbs. Two different descriptions of the cable length. No remote control. No explanation on how the lights come on & go off automatically. Really like the fact that the lights can be charged via USB (this is the UK!) Poor explanation on how you can join two sets of lights. Having read reviews after buying two sets concerned about how long they will last.Read more

Love them. Charge them with USB for the first charge. Otherwise they wouldn’t come on for me. But once they did, they are exactly what I wanted. Love this purchase.Read more

Extremely bright, we didn’t know if we had to charge them via usb or not so did it for 2 hours and then put them up to get sunlight and they came on that night. We did not get a remote control and can’t see if that is included when reading the product description. Very easy to put up, we used cable ties. Video is taken from a window but you can see they are very bright.Read more

These lights are of very poor quality. I ordered the first set and put them up. After seeing them the first night I liked them and decided to order some more. One the second night some bulbs stopped working so when the new ones turned up I checked them first then sent the originals back. After fitting the second set I ordered a third set which arrived. After setting them up and waiting till night time I realised the 3rd set and now the 2nd set are both fault. Really don’t waste your money avoid at all costRead more
