My grandson was the recipient of a Mastercard gift card that I ordered from Amazon. He received it on Dec. 20th but has been unable to use the card to make a purchase online. When he tries to use it, it wants a zip code entered. He has entered his zip code, my home zip code and my zip code at my winter home. None of these worked so he has not been able to use the card to purchase online games for which the card was purchased. I am very unhappy with my purchase. This is the first and last time I will purchase a gift card from Amazon. How do I get a refund?Read more

So I was very apprehensive to buy this as there are multiple versions of gift card horror stories making the rounds here on Amazon. I really needed this to work out and thankfully it did! It arrived promptly on time and had easy directions, even though they were buried in a mountain of text. So all you have to do is go to the designated website and enter the number of the card and your funds are immediatley available. Now I used my Amazon card so I don’t know if that had anything to do with it but after I registered the card I could use the funds! Worked greatRead more

Thought this was very helpful and easy as a gift but everytime I would go to try to buy something it would deny my payment and make me wait 3 to 5 business days to get my money back. Twice . So I will no longer shop for prepaid cards!Read more

I don’t always like using my own CC when I road trip for the weekend, which I do with some frequency. I’ll use GCs so I don’t have to carry cash, as a way to maintain a budget and as a means of decreasing any opportunities of having my info compromised. I had absolutely no issue activating or using, just have to take the time to activate and set up a PIN which was all too easy a process. I already know gift cards tend not to to work at the pump at most gas stations so no prob going inside so no issues there. I used this particular card to pick up groceries and to pay for my camping spot. I do think the activation is a bit higher than necessary, not like it involves anything tangible. I guess they have to make their money some way and it’s an upfront detail. Overall my experiences have been good ones. I won’t dismiss those who’ve had nightmare experiences because I’m sure stuff like that happens. I’ve been fortunate in that respect, knock on wood. Cheers.Read more

I ordered this gift card once, successfully verified the balance online, registered it online, was able to use it with no problems for my online shopping and at local swipe payments. I thought “great! So easy! Let’s do that again.” So next time I ordered two gift cards. This time–after they shipped but before they had arrived, I got an email from Amazon warning that there was a problem activating the card, and that they were sending out a replacement. When I got the original two, I checked the online balance, and sure enough neither of them were valid. So I waited for the replacement order. When it arrived–there was only one replacement card, not two! The one worked. But then I had to go through customer service chat at Amazon (took awhile) and get it sorted out for them to give me a credit for the second card. That was a bit of a hassle.Read more

I notice some comments saying their card did not work for them. I’m writing this because I wanted to say I had no issues or problems with my card. I bought to use on web sites where my bank suggested not to use my debit card because of suspicious activity. Luckily I’ve no issues like that. Better to only lose $50 then my whole account. It worked easily I got my merchandise with no problem. I plan to buy again. I was surprised I was able to buy this on here. It worked out well since we’re all shut in/down for a while.Read more

I think there should be a clear description in the Amazon webpage product information, that is lacking, and unfortunately found out after 3 separate purchases of the card and thought a merchant was at fault. The 3rd time, I read the microprint sheet that accompanied the mastercard and read the following: “Your card is valid in the U.S. only…it cannot be used at merchants outside the United States, including internet and mail/telephone order merchants outside the United States…” So the purchase of all 3 cards was worthless and the extra money that you pay to get this card was for naught. Extremely disappointing I lost $5.95 on this card, $4.95 on another, and $4.95 on another – charges to buy the card on top of its value.Read more
