This is for everyone who has had trouble with their wood cookies cracking. Wood is very temperamental, to say the least! Temperature and humidity will affect it no matter how dry you think it is. I, personally, have found that if I seal BOTH sides with matte or satin varnish, let them dry, and then sand lightly, I have no cracking when the paint is applied and dried. ( You may want to use a blow dryer on LOW heat to dry the paint more quickly) You can use either brush-on or spray varnish. This method works for me , I hope it works for all of you! HAPPY PAINTING!!Read more

Yo these are some fine wood circles. They are silky smooth and aesthetically pleasing. Perfect for burning or painting or doing nothing with. Considering I bought 2 batches of these wood circles and only 1 of them was cracked and the rest were flawless, thatās pretty exceptional. For you math people, I crunched the numbers and that is a 1.66% probability of getting a cracked wood circle in a batch of 60 wood circles. I donāt know, I think thatās pretty good when you consider the way these things are shipped from states away and slapped on your stoop at lightning speed. But I like to consider myself somewhat of an optimist. I saw people complaining about the twine not being red, since a lot of people who purchase these are making Christmas ornaments. The twine is orange but itās nice. Iām sure youāve got plenty of red on your Christmas tree. Give orange a chance. In fact, be grateful you get any twine at all. Anyway. If youāre on the hunt for wood circles with predrilled holes and complimentary twine, your search is over. Add to cart. Good day.Read more

About half of these cracked! I wouldnāt have minded if some of them came cracked because I could have filled the crack and done my project. But they cracked after I got started on my project. About half cracked. I canāt fix the crack now because thereās oil paint on them and I canāt fill the crack over the oil paint. These were supposed to be for my business, but now I donāt have enough. So I either need to buy more (obviously from a different company!) just to have enough to sell, or I need to charge more to balance out the cost of the broken rounds. Very frustrated!Read more

I wanted to love these nice large craft rounds, but now after having two of my orders split within 30 days after them being painted on…I really donāt know what to do with the 10+ packs of 30ct Iāve ordered as Iām past my return by date and I canāt find a way to message the seller. I am commissioned to paint pet portraits on these ornaments so I bulk bought them. Iāve never had store/commercial bought craft rounds split like this on me. They feel bone dry & light. Shapes are alright, some a little wonky. Now that Iām looking through the packaging Iāve found that theyāre splitting before Iāve even painted them, as well as after. They have not been treated properly during the drying process is my guess. After reading through more reviews, apparently Iām not the only one with this issue.Read more

These wood slices were perfect for my project. They were smooth, easy to paint, and I had no problem using permanent vinyl on them. Mine order came with natural and an orange / white twine. I was hoping it would be red, but thereās plenty of the natural to use. There were a couple pieces slightly larger then the average slice, but the cuts were pretty consistent. Iāve already placed another order. I did choose to pay a couple extra dollars to go with size, and Iām glad I did. These were perfect.Read more

The pieces were just as described. Real natural wood with nice bark on the outside. The surface is pretty smooth for āunfinished,ā ready to start art projects on. Because they are natural wood chips, they are not all uniformly round like the ones in their marketing photos, but thatās not a negative. Canāt wait to get our project started! Update: Two days after receiving the shipment, ten of the pieces cracked. Perhaps because we’re located in a very dry area. Don’t know how the remaining 20 will fair. So maybe these are only good for humid areas.Read more

These were well cut and had obviously been sanded. Sturdy wood slices that made for beautiful ornaments. These came in a timely manner as well. They are lightweight which worked out great for shipping from my Etsy Shop.Read more

I liked the smooth finish of the pieces. The holes were nicely centralised. My only negative is that a lot of the holes were not drilled through properly. So I had to manually make them, which took up time and make a mess. It may seem like a small thing, but it would put me off re ordering because of the time involved as I need to make lots and lots, and the mess involved in pushing through the holes. Hope this helps. I will def buy again if this can be rectified. Nicest ones of seen on amazon, and nicely presented.Read more

These are great little wood slices that I ordered to try out pyrography for the first time. Nice and smooth. The bark round the edges can be a bit delicate. Very good value for money, and string provided too to handRead more

I brought these to create placenames from our wedding day to sit on everyone’s plates. They are all consistent in size but varied enough to not look fake or manufactured, so each one is unique. I have brought a couple of packs and overall am very happy with them. They were delivered quickly and stacked in a plastic bag along with two different types of twine. The drilled holes are big enough to thread the twine through with ease but are not big enough to distract or dominate the main slice.Read more

I make all kinds of things and wanted some wooden ‘slices’ to make Christmas decorations and other ideas from. I have some branches from where tres have been pruned/lopped in my neighbour’s garden but no easy method of ‘slicing’ them so bought these for the short term. They are exactly what I wanted and, tbh, are probably no more expensive than getting my ‘branches’ chopped up! Nice little pre-drilled discs with bark around them and in a very nice bag.Read more

Iāve been really enjoying these to paint on, Iāve got a little addicted to doing mini portraits on them. They are all pretty true to size and Iāve had no problems with the holes. They also seem pretty good value for money for how many you get.Read more
