This product is about what I expected for a lower cost solution to (some) sound deadening. While I don’t have the proper environment to test acoustics, I am going to focus on the experience of receiving and comparing this product to Auralex DST-114, another sound deadening solution I already own. My plan was to purchase red tiles to augment my existing charcoal tiles. Upon reception, I could see the difference in quality right away. (See Photos) These tiles came compressed and did require water to expand them. Given the price of the tiles, you have to consider the process of hydrating these things and then drying them. Drying without a fan could take a day or more, so be prepared to set aside space to engage in this process. After they hydrate, they do expand (for the most part). Compared to my experience with Auralex, where the foam came uncompressed, dry and ready to be installed, these red tiles are an investment in time and process even before you can install them

The media could not be loaded. -A lot of people are complaining that they don’t expand well. One guy even gave it a one star review because all he did was leave them out to expand on their own and needed them to be mountable within 12 hours. -If you do the water method as instructed in my video you can have these washed, dried, and ready to mount in under an hour. These are great for reverb reduction. I recommend using them in conjuction with ither gear too. -These expand perfectly fine I had a 100% success rate with 60 panels if you do it how I did it in the video attached. -Ignore the 1 star reviews about expansion, they just didn’t do it right. -Sound absorption is great for the valueRead more

The media could not be loaded. I was all excited based off of the reviews that they would not require any maintenance. But apparently you have to let them foam over 48 hours, cuts look all different. Plus they wouldn’t stick to 3m tape or velcro. (I needed them put up for a project in less than 12 hours)Read more

This product works exactly as advertised. Some other reviewers are complaining that they panels didn’t inflate all the way. Those reviews would be “operator error” reviews and it’s fairly obvious they those few don’t ever read the instructions that some with their items and they just wing it…. the instructions give 2 methods for the inflation of the foam… SOAK THE FOAM, RING IT OUT AND THROW IT IN THE DRYER. Bam… done… oh, and they don’t come with adhesive but they do stick just fine with command adhesive just fine.Read more

I have a small studio space in my home and am a voiceover talent. They are true to size when.properly prepared. I used the soaking/dryer method. Although it took two drying cycles to get them completely dry. They stick well on the side walls using 3m squares, but I had to use a spray adhesive for the ceiling. They made a big difference in sound quality when I finally got them all up. The price is great for my budget, midrange. Overall, I would DEFINITELY recommend them.Read more

Those complaining about the packaging are reviewing too soon. You don’t even need to do the dryer trick, just leave them out. The directions say 24-48 hours, mine popped out to full bloom in about 4-6.Read more

My son had seen these panels in videos online and really wanted some for himself. They look really cool on his wall with his computer and music recording area. They also increase the sound quality by cutting off echo. Super easy to put up too you just need some adhesive spray. Really good product and they are nice and soft.Read more

8 out of 12 tiles expanded to perfect shape. Once you soak these in water (use a bucket of warm water – not just running under a tap), foam tiles will expand to its proper form in seconds after you wring them. If you are lucky, this will be the case for all the foam tiles. In my case, 4 of the 12 tiles were permanently damaged. After several days of waiting, soaking, drying, they never reached their proper form (see photo). The seller was quick to send a replacement, but the replacement had permanent damage for ALL the tiles this time. After fully soaking them in water and waiting a few days, none of the replacement tiles returned to normal shape. I even tried soaking them a second time and using a blow dryer, but no luck with this batch. When contacting the seller about the bad replacement, they replied saying they will ship another replacement once they saw the photos, but the shipment never arrived and they stop responding. At this point I just gave up and got a full refund. When you get a set of foam tiles that return to normal shape, the quality is actually really good. Its just luck of the draw getting a bad batch. I high recommend you soak these in water, wring them dry, and place on a towel to dry for a few days. Avoid the dryer machine if you can as not all dryers are the same and can damage the foam.Read more

24 hours after unpacking these, only 4 of the 12 had taken shape and the rest were nowhere close. I was very discouraged, but decided to soak them and throw them in the dryer. After that they all took shape and are exactly as advertised.Read more

I have purchased and tried 3 variety/models of acoustic sound pads so far and these are the nicest, thickest, most “professional” looking and sounding so far. Nice, full 2″ thickness, sharp, well cut shape/edges. They come tightly packaged and highly compressed, but they regain they’re original form quickly if you follow the decompression procedure.Read more

ALL of them inflated back perfectly. I was worried they wouldn’t from some of the reviews, but after 10mins of soaking they were ready to go. The instruction says to dry them in a dryer but I plan to air dry them. I squeezed the water out and none of them were damaged. I wouldn’t say they are dense, but they are durable and keep the shapes. Also they were CHEAP! Very happy with the purchase.Read more
