This tool is also branded Husky for Home Depot. It is the best caulking tool I’ve found, by far. It is my second one. I caulk about 50 tubes of silicone a year with it and with the following tips it will stand up to your commercial use pretty good for a $5 tool. I suggest: Clean the rubber 3-way tip every time you put it down. 100% silicone can’t be removed with solvent, it must be shaved off with a razor once cured even a little. This is the reason I’m retiring my first tool. Here’s another tip to help the stainless caulk remover last: my first one snapped off after about 5 bathrooms (hotel maintenance man here). It’s barely attached from the Chinese factory, but it works very well. My new one got a continuous ring of JB Steel Stick epoxy around the joint and I think it’s going to make it much less prone to breaking off. See the photo of my modification. Enjoy!Read more

It isn’t clear why this is called a 3 in 1 tool as it seems to have only two functions. It removes SOME of the old caulk and then smooths the new caulk. The fixed and non-replaceable cutting blade is rather wide so it does not get deep into the gap between tiles. In trying to get it to get more (enough) of the old caulk I applied too much pressure resulting in scaring the top of the tub. I had hoped the tool would allow one to remove all the caulk by digging deep into the tile gap. I had to resort to using a small screwdriver for that important function. The second function for the tool is to smooth the new caulk. This entails using a rubber foot which has 3, yes 3, different angles. My guess is that this is the 3 in 3 in 1. The smoothing tool works almost as well as a wet finger but saves you from the horror of having caulk on your finger. 🙂 I was not able to get the cute smooth tool to get a good curve in the corners so resorted to using my finger and finally just went back to finger everywhere which was faster and easier to control – for me anyway. This is a typical Chinese product with very little useful information about usage. The usage information is in the attached image. The construction of the tool is good. It would have been better if the cutting blade angle was more acute so the blae would go into the tile gaps.Read more

Boy did I suck at caulking before this tool. I live in a new construction, and they did not caulk a lot of things, for example, around the bathtub and where the backsplash met the kitchen counter. I tried caulking before and wipe the line with my finger/paper towel, turned out horribly. This took make it so easy that I don’t hesitate caulking anymore. I would highly recommend this to anyone that’s not a professional.Read more

I really wanted to love this tool. The metal part is not near sharp enough to cut through caulking. I ended up using an exacto knife slicing one continuous line horizontally along the top and bottom of the bead of caulking. I then made one vertical cut and was able to pull away all of the caulking. I anticipated it being much more difficult than it was which resulted in me buying this tool before I even made an attempt. I won’t use the triangular rubber end. I prefer to use my finger so I can feel if there are thinner portions that may require another pass before it sets up. I’m sure someone will appreciate my donation of this tool at the Salvation Army.Read more

I recently started working on my master bath. Redoing the caulking around the tub was a must as it had begun to peel away. I began to try to scrape all of the old caulking away on my own with a flat blade but after 10 minutes of getting no where I have up. I ordered this product and two days later when it came I was overjoyed! It took me less than 5 minutes to completely remove the 8 feet of caulking from around the tile. I was amazed at how easy it was to use. The adjustable silicone piece on the end was an added bonus and helped me out new caulking on very fast. Very much a fan of this item.Read more

The spreader too in this is fan fxxxx tastic. Highly recommend. I also enjoyed the scraper as it worked super well and was soft enough to not damage the tiles or tub. That said the thing broke in multiple key sections by the middle of the second project. So keep that in mind. This isn’t a commercial long term use tool. It’s a buy one for the current project tool. That said it worked amazing. Highly recommend.Read more

I was most impressed by how sturdy this unit was. One tool is the angled blade that is capable of cutting through caulk, at least some of it. My project was bath tub and shower. I had some caulk that was almost rock hard and the tool didn’t deal with it well. Another case of softer caulk was better handled. The orange plastic scraper does a good job of removing stray caulk without scratching the surface. The caulk shaping tool (three widths) did an excellent job of making a professional-looking bead. This tool doesn’t meet every possible challenge, and it can be a problem to get it into a tight space, but it is a useful and inexpensive part of the arsenal to remove caulk that might also include a pocket knife, a razor knife, an abrasive sponge and a dental pick.Read more

I”ve only gave this thing 4 stars instead of 5 for the flash that was left over on the rounded edges of the tool. If left on it leaves ridges in the final caulk bead, I don’t like that so i removed the flash from the rubber pad. I know what everyone is thinking, or at least most people…. why do I need a tool to caulk? Just use your finger right? Yep, then there are probably a lot of people reading these reviews that tried that with some pretty crappy results and looked into using a tool. If it’s just caulking a window or something no one will see then a finger or a wet sponge works great. But say your caulking the floor near a tub….you can’t have that looking like crap now can you? So you try this tool, and it will take some time, and you will have to do some cleaning, but it will come out nice.Read more

The tool is useful addition to the gadget box. It helps in some situation, but you still need a good sharp razer cutter and scraper to do a good job at getting all the sealant off. Likes: – You can hook the sealant and get a good pull. – Work good for some sealant. Dislikes: – Doesn’t cut into the sealant well. Especially elastic silicone or harder sealant. – Poor for corners. – It’s pretty expensive since it’s just a mediocre tool. You can do a better job with a good flexible cutter along with a putty knife and a razer scraper.Read more

Pro: good grip, versatile and all in one solution. Removal of caulking can be done by plastic or metal tool. Metal one is sturdy and sharp. Plastic one is good quality and does the job well. Applicator has three sizes and can be easily inter changed. Cons: the metal scrappers position is very awkward and will visually get in the way of you want to just used the plastic scrapper. It also gets in the way when you trying to remove the caulking from a tight corner.Read more

The metal scraping blade popped off right away and cannot be put back on properly. The plastic scraper is decent, that’s why the extra stars. Not worth packaging, sending it back, waiting for it to be processed, then…maybe it will be replaced. Thanks a ton.Read more

I’m pretty handy around the house and can take on most projects successfully, with one glaring exception….when I try to finish a caulked seam it looks like it was done by a 200lb gorilla. This tool is perfect. The removal portion does an excellent job of digging out the old caulking and the finishing leaves a beautiful smooth surface.Read more
