Don’t buy: These thermometers are completely useless. They are inaccurate and, even though they have a scale going to 600 deg. F, they get destroyed by 550 deg. F. They turn black, see image.Read more

This device is so small it’s impossible to read thru oven window. It’s very hard to read even with door open, you’d better have 20/20 vision and be willing to almost stick your head IN the oven. Display is only 1 1/2 inches, pictures were very misleading.Read more

We got this double pack and used them both in our side by side oven. One of them went black after a couple of uses but the other seems to be okay. Returning for refundRead more

After two uses for baking bread at 425°, the printed face that labels the temperature became completely dark and unreadable. Now they’re useless!Read more

These are a great price, but obviously not worth it if they aren’t accurate (or even close). I tested one in my toaster oven and then both in my regular oven. Each time they were about 50 degrees lower than the actual temperature. My old oven thermometer was becoming increasingly difficult to read so I got these. I know my regular oven runs 15 degrees too hot so I adjust for that. I’m guessing this might be a quality control issue since there are a number of satisfied customers. Regardless, these just weren’t accurate for me.Read more

I suspected my oven was hotter than the display and my digital thermometer did indicate this. However, this thermometer was reading the dead band so fast I could not really tell what the average temperature was. I needed slower changes in the thermometer so I used these two side by side. They were both reading the exact average temperature which saved me some math calculations by averaging the high and low for the dead band and then averaging the reading. The digital thermometer indicated that I may have a 25 degree error and the two analog Anvin thermometers did prove my estimate of the error. The oven was set to 350 degrees and the digital thermometer indicated 350 = burners ON; 400 = burners OFF. The two Anvin analog thermometers indicated 375 which was the correct temperature. Analog thermometers are relatively slow to change so eventually they will settle to a fairly accurate average temperature if they are slow to respond to temperature changes.Read more

Letting the oven to completely cool between, I tested my oven temp at 3 settings; 450°, 400° and 350° The first thermometer used registered a reading 25° below at each temperature. The second registered 25° above at each setting. Average places my oven performing accurately.Read more

My food has been under cooking recently and thanks to having two, I see that my oven has different temps on the two sides. Great to help adjust for cooking and baking.Read more

I recently moved to a new place and my oven seemed to be quite off on the temperature. I ended up purchasing this to have a better sense of how much I needed to adjust the gas knob to get the desired temperature (it turned out my oven is about 50F higher than what it should be!) This simple thermometer helps me ensure the proper baking temperature of bread, cakes, and my pizzas. My cinnamon rolls were getting too hard on the outside and quite dry because of the wrong temperature settings. Now things are finally back on track! It’s super simple to use. You can hang it on the rack, on top of the cast iron pan to ensure it’s fully warm, and so on. Highly recommend!Read more

We have a double wall oven so tested both these new oven thermometers with our old reliable ones that have become a wee bit hard to see from years of grease splatters that have become to hard to clean off without resorting to using an SOS pad. We can still see the the temp. on our old thermometers but felt it was time to buy new ones as the older you get, the older your eyesight gets! Both the two new over thermometers registered the same as the old ones, we’ve used them a few times now and there’s been no change how they perform so no complaints from us as yet. That said, like everything time will tell, so there could be an update in the future but at this time we’re quite pleased with them right now. Should add description says large dial but would be better described as medium size dial as the visible part of dial where the F & C are shown under the glass, measures approx. 1 and 3/4 inch.Read more
