These are very good filters at a good price. They should remove pharmaceuticals, which are mostly if not entirely organic molecules that bind very well to carbon. I think the discussion around what they filter out has to do with contaminants like heavy metals (lead and mercury). I don’t think these filters remove these because they don’t specifically say that they do. Some of the filters from other vendors say they do remove heavy metals. If you know you don’t have heavy metals in your water, these are fine. If you live in Detroit or a similar place, I would use a filter that specifically states that it removes heavy metals.Read more

I had used the GE filter before and it always seated up properly. I went with this unit because of price and its certifications. Was frustrating trying to get unit not to chatter. After about 8 tries yes 8, I finally got the unit to run freely and quite. Not sure if I would purchase again. I think manufacturer tried to make a unit that fit many refrigerators rather than model specific.Read more

Love these refills. We have a GE slate fridge and GE wanted $89 for one cartridge. No thanks. These refills fit perfectly and work really well. I drink a lot of water so I think the first refill lasted about 2 months before the light on our fridge said to replace it. For the price you cannot beat the 3 pack. Will buy these again!Read more

Don’t really have any complaints about this filter. It is easy to install even for my nan handy husband. When our fridge’s filter light came on, I did a little research and found these replacement filters. The installation was very easy and the filter didn’t have any problems with leaking (I think I’d heard of other filters having problems with that). Seems like the filter is working good, there were no strange tastes and it helps remove some of the minerals from our well water although a small amount of minerals still get through.Read more
