I will try to reach out to the seller, to see if I can get this exchanged, or returned. I just purchased this about 40 days ago. I tried to take a trip over the 4th of July weekend, and I have both AC and DC plugs in my vehicle. I used the AC plug with this adapter, and when we got to our destination, this unit was almost too hot to pick up with my hands. Luckily, I also have a 12v adapter for my portable cooler, and that seemed to work fine, without any overheating. To have this unit overheat, on my very first attempt to travel with it, did not leave a very good impression. I have a 2500 watt inverter in my vehicle, with 4 110v AC plugs on it. I only have one 12v outlet in my vehicle, so I try to use the standard 110v AC inverter, for all things electrical in my vehicle. I bought this for a 12V thermoelectric cooler that supposedly consumes 40-48 watts. I have tested it on this a couple of times for one or more hours each. It works just fine. The adapter block gets pretty warm but not concerningly hot. The 12V socket, tested with a voltmeter, puts out exactly 12 volts. This will give me more flexibility to use the cooler away from the car, and I am glad I purchased it.Read more

The title speaks for itself. The adapter requires 1.6 amps (192watts )of AC current to produce 8.5 amps (102watts) of DC current. That is an efficiency ratio of 53.13%. It baffles me why the power adapter has to be soo inefficient to bring it in at this price point. But, it works like it is supposed to.Read more

8.5 Amps output. I am very happy with this product, just wish it was closer to $10. I have a AAA multipurpose tire pump with only a cigarette lighter jack. I needed this to air up my bicycle tires. Works great. You can tell it is 8.5 output not 10 Amps. You could still use it on your AAA car tire pump, it would just take a bit longer. Good solid product for price, and has a green light on the brick so you know it is connected and working from the wall in your house. (A lot of these do NOT even give Amp output in description!)Read more

The adapter works very well to inflate my regular tires (33 psi) as well spare tires (60 psi). The cord is not long enough to use in a regular home garage (unless you have power connections on every wall?), so be prepared to have a long enough power cord at hand that is rated for the Amps of your inflator. The adapter did not get hot (just warm) though it was used for around 30 minutes for inflation. I did turned it off in when moving from tire to tire. It is a great addition to the garage tools because it saves having to turn the car engine on just for inflating tires.Read more

I needed a wall plug to use with my mini fridge that’s usually used to transport butcher shop of fish market purchases on the summer (for the car). Decided to use it upstairs in the office to chill water or soft drinks while working from home. This cord fits the bill and I’m happy to have found it. I have purchased two of these to power my mobile Ham radio equipment that I have set up as a base. This power supply is one of the best that I have ever used. As it comes with a cigarette lighter socket, I don’t have to cut and splice one in. The 8.5 amps available is more than enough for my mobile radio and the second one is for my RF amp. I bought an electric tire pump at the local Aldi the other day, it was a hasty decision because people weren’t exercising social distancing and I just wanted to get out of there. To my dismay, when I got home, I found out the pump can only be plugged into a vehicle’s cigarette lighter. After looking at a few converters on Amazon, I settled on this one for no reason other than I was overthinking it. I used it today, it worked great

Compré el eliminador para mantener conectada una hielera marca IGLOO, del modelo “iceless”. La calidad del producto es muy buena. Se siente de calidad tanto el eliminador, como los dos cables, el de alimentacion, y el que va conectado a la toma de 12 V. La hielera no consumía el total de carga que el eliminador proporciona, sin embargo si se sentía que se calentaba, aunque tampoco fue demasiado como para pensar que se iba a derretir o fallar. Los cables son gruesos, se sienten robustos. Un detalle que me gusto, es que la toma de 12V, cuenta con un capuchon, parataparlo y evitar cortos o que piezas metalicas puedan introducirse y causar algun corto. En mi caso, deje la hielera por caso quince dias de uso continuo con este eliminador, y sin problemas, funcionó muy bien. El único detalle que le vería, es que en una de las ilustraciones, muestra que tiene unos soportes de hule para no resbalarse, sin embargo, el que compré, no los traía. Si lo recomiendo, y sí lo volvería a comprar.Read more
