Like a paper clips or drywall screws, I have nothing laudable to say about this product. It preforms a function and does it unremarkably.Read more

I got this to fix a simple problem: I now have more USB peripherals than I do USB ports on my work laptop. This solved that problem, and for about $15. That should be enough, but this hub has a couple of additional nice features that distinguish it from others I’ve used in the past. Each USB port can be switched on/off manually, and separately. That way, you don’t have to actually unplug something just to disconnect it; just slide the switch off. When you’re ready to “plug it back in,” just slide the switch to on. Also, all ports are USB 3.0, which is much faster than USB 2.0. A lot of hubs on sale today only support USB 2.0, or have a mix of USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. It might not matter to you whether your USB ports are 2.0 or 3.0; it doesn’t to me. In fact, unless you are hooking an external drive up to the hub, you will not be able to tell whether the port is 2.0 or 3.0. The only difference in the two specifications is speed, but an external drive is pretty much the only thing that will allow you to tell the difference. Keyboards, mice, and a smart card reader, which are pretty much all I use my USB ports for, work just as well with 2.0, as they don’t need the extra speed of 3.0.Read more

Most current USB hubs are designed for use with laptop computers and have a short USB cord. I ordered this hub for use with my legacy full tower computer; my computer has a rear USB 2.0 add-on card and this hub’s 24 inch USB cord was sufficiently long to locate USB ports atop the full tower (after my legacy hub failed). Installation was straightforward: I plugged the hub into the USB card, the computer recognized the hub (“Generic USB Hub on USB 2.0 Bus”) and loaded the required driver from the Windows 2000 installation CD. (I assume driver loading would occur seamlessly on Internet-connected computers with recent operating systems.) The hub is compactly constructed. There are four USB 3.0 ports, each having its own ON/OFF switch and blue light indicating ON. There is a 24 inch cord with a USB 3.0 plug for signal connection. And there is a mini-USB port allowing connection of an (optional and not included) 5 volt 1-3 ampere power source. I use the hub exclusively with flash drives; I turned OFF unused USB ports to save power and I chose to let the hub draw operating power from the attached computer, a compromise that lowers cost.Read more

This is a small and portable 4 port USB hub. It is very lightweight and comes with a 2 ft built-in USB C cord. It is powered by the USB jack that it is plugged into. It is NOT powered on its own, so take care that the USB port you are plugging it into can handle the up to 4 devices that you plug into this hub. Each port has its own on/off slider switch with a blue indicator light on the switch that lights up when it is in the ON position. It works great and is USB3.0. It is very economical. I have used it on computers and gaming consoles to provide more USB ports. I like the individual ON/OFF switches as I can leave devices plugged in but be able to turn the connection ON/OFF as needed. 4 solid stars.Read more

Plug and play, and works exactly as advertised. The cord has plenty of length to reach the back of the PC, allowing the hub to sit on top, rather than dangling haphazardly. I appreciate this, since I plan to use this one with items that are plugged in and unplugged frequently. A great, non-powered USB hub for when a few extra ports are needed!Read more

This is a good little USB hub for the price. It has switches for each port and works just fine. I do wish the cord was just a bit longer to come around the side of my computer. I am happy with it and if you need more USB ports this may be the solution for you too..5 starsRead more
