Wow, this scanner just like having cellphones are a necessity these days. You need to research what mechanics tell you or troubleshoot new car or truck problems. I needed to pass emissions. I had a cel on for several years. No one tried to offer to fix it properly. I had to pay extra to pass bootleg. My husband had passed and his 2002 Chevy Avalanche codes showed mad sensor. I was told 82 plus 125 labor that would take 2 hours. I looked on YouTube, took part off in 15 min. (I am a 62 yo lady). I was going to buy and replace part but read you can clean it with spray at auto parts for $10. I brought crc. It worked! I just passed the emissions test about can hour ago. Praise to God for requested daily wisdom.Read more

Like I said in the title, this works on ever car I own 2007 and up. The price is so cheap and it works perfect. Plug it in, pull the codes, google the codes and find the issues. Can also reset with this.Read more

This little handy device will save you SO much trouble and money if you have a slightly older car like mine that has fairly regular check engine lights. I use this (and let all of my friends use this) ALL the time. The device plugs right into your car and has simple instructions to diagnose any problems your car is experiencing or dashboard lights that come on. Once the diagnostics have completed, it shows you the error codes your car has produced, and you use their handy booklet to decode and identify the problems you are experiencing. Once you have the code, you will probably have to do some research on exactly what might be going wrong, as some of the descriptions are brief or beyond my knowledge with cars, but there’s plenty of online resources that can help with this. I saved money and time by using this to diagnose my car and fix it without having to take it to a mechanic, who often charge a fee just for running this EXACT diagnostic test! This device also gives you the option to reset your car’s lights to see if the problem is persistent. All in all, this is a super handy piece of equipment for an incredibly reasonable price. Be careful though, you may find that all of your friends want to borrow this from you all the time! Not a bad problem to have. Let me know if this review was helpful, or if you have any questions, and I’ll try to respond to any that you might have!Read more

Our vehicle hates multi-state road trips with different gas octanes along the way. Did you know that cruise control doesn’t work when the check engine light comes on? This was a LIFESAVER on a long trip. On our way there, we had to stop three times to have it read and/or cleared – first, the initial panic after the light came on ~30 minutes after getting gas in a new state (and they wouldn’t clear it). Second, the dealership diagnosed the “minor inconvenience but safe to drive” problem, warning us that the light would come back on if the engine was turned off. Third, because you have to eat sometime. Trying to drive long stretches of highway without cruise control on a 30+ hour trip is NO FUN. We had this delivered to our destination and it paid for itself on the way home. We are learning to care & maintain our vehicles ourselves and this has been a useful tool. Diagnoses and clears codes easily. We’ve owned it for ~8 months.Read more

I had high hopes for this tool. I found the DLC quickly, it plugged in perfectly, on screen instruction came on and I hit Scroll. A code popped up then all of of a sudden asked Erase? I’m not sure why it asked me if I wanted it erased so I looked it up in the manual that I had to download which was simple, and it said to press the Scroll button to Exit if I didn’t want to erase. So I pushed the Scroll button… and the code erased. I rescanned and it came up No Codes, so now I have no idea what’s wrong with the engine, I’ll have to take it to a mechanic which will cost a fortune to run his own diagnostic and see what he thinks the problem might be because the code is no longer in my car computer system. If you want, the tool is handy and I had no problem operating it at all. But to fix a “mistake”, and I’m not even sure how it happened that the tool asked me to Erase, the instructions should be correct OR the wiring in the unit itself is faulty and I hit the wrong button…of which there are only 2 on the unit. It’s made me so mad I can’t think straight.Read more

Amazing! I could have saved $800+ dollars! 2010 Jeep Wrangler 2 door JK. This is my 5th Jeep Wrangler since 1983. I’ve owned 2 CJ’s, a TJ, a JK and a JKU. This JK is the one I’m keeping forever. It’s simple (sport version) and not too complicated and fancy (like my JKU we gsve to our son who still drives it) i like the cloth seats, roll up windows, and the freedom panels in the hard top. I’ve driven this jeep to the top if Pikes Peak, wheeled it in many states…and it’s my daily driver. I have just spent over $800 at local jeep dealer for an “evap leak” and the check engine light came back on in about 3 weeks! I was upset. The nice guy at the dealer told me I should get a cheap code reader…if it’s this code again…its a ‘small’ evap leak in the exhaust gases. It does NOT effect the engine. He told me my gaskets, gas tank, filler hose, all that was good… and that I could reset this code myself with this reader. Well, as you can see… it was the same code as the guy said…and it’s not serious. BESIDES – I ride a Harley. If you can imagine sitting at a light behind a big diesel pickup truck…and the idiot has fixed his rig to “roll coal” as they say…it puts out a cloud of black smoke with so much junk in it it would take my jeep an ENTIRE YEAR to put out the same out of stuff. The EPA loophole those trucks get thru is ridiculous! So I don’t feel bad at all that i have this tiny issue with my Jeep! I tried to fix it…i paid a ton of money… they replaced sensors and other stuff… and I was told the only other recourse was to have the dealer pressure test and replace the entire system… about $ 3000! Nuts. $20…this little machine fixed my problem in less than 5 mins in my driveway…and that included downloading the manual and reading it pretty carefully! I love this thing! Its staying in my Jeep!Read more

Bought this to save on reset on engine light which garage was asking £45. Got fault codes in the book to look up and a cd that comes with it. Just find it easier to search on google. Perfect for what I needed it for. Has got more options. But first time I used obd tool and was quite straight forward. Plug in and connects with ignition off then ignition on and reads fault code and then enter to erase code. For purpose straight forward. Have seen other options on it but don’t need for now hopefully. Thought about the Bluetooth on the phone ones, but was told you have to buy the apps on App Store then charge on top. I’m happy with this.Read more

This is a great gadget for anyone who fixes their own car or who simply wants to get rid of a pesky check engine light on their dashboard. Since 2001, every car sold in the EU has to have a little socket on it for on-board diagnostics. This gadget plugs into that socket and communicates with the car’s on-board computer. The computer stores information from various sensors, such as emissions sensors, temperature sensors, knock sensors, as well as performance data and generates a code if the car detects any problems. Using this device, you can read that code and get some idea of what’s causing the issue. Much of the time, if that little check engine light comes on, you’re probably going to want to get your car checked out. However, sometimes it can come on following a misfire, or if the engines too cold or sometimes just for no reason at all. This little gadget can turn that pesky thing off with a couple of clicks. Knowing the code for a fault can save a lot of time and money on trial-and-error repairs. It can also save you taking your car to a garage for a very minor resolution (such as changing spark plugs, etc). In that respect, this device could end up paying for itself many times over. Definitely value for money at the price being sold.Read more

This is a brilliant little tool, I used it to clear a warning light on the dash in order to get more money for a part exchange. Cost me £20 to earn an extra £700 on the car. Really easy to use, you just plug it in to the OBD port, scan for faults, and then erase them before restarting the car for the light to disappear. Much more simple than those digital ones, works just as well. Would definitely recommend and it I’ll be keeping it in the boot of my new car should anything go wrong I can scan the fault and see what it is before taking it to the garage.Read more

Engine warning light comes on- This device reads fault codes, and can reset them if required. It is obviously not a substitute for the sophisticated equipment at your car’s main dealer, but neither are £100 devices, so just spend £17 on this device that is easy to use and tells you what the fault is.Read more

Great little product for the price. plugs into the socket under your dash and reads your codes in less than a minute. It has allowed me to (with the help of a car-savvy friend) diagnose my car’s misfiring engine problems without needing to take the care into a garage and pay £50+ for diagnostics. the product doesn’t however give very detailed information about the problem. for example it just told me i had a misfire on cylinder 3. I then had to do my own investigations as to what was causing the misfire (swapping spark plugs/coil packs, testing compression levels etc.) Turns out there was low compression in cylinder 3, which every now and then is causing the fuel injectors to turn off. I found out i can also use this diagnostics scanner to erase the fault codes – and therefore turn the fuel injector back on if the car starts misfiring while i’m driving. Possibly not the best option for the health of the engine – but seen as how the repairs would cost about as much as the car is worth, it’s a very useful little function to have.Read more
