Does not Last long. Over the years I have purchased about 10 various size and voltage battery tenders. I have purchased 4 or 5 of these smaller 12v 750 mA chargers to keep our various motorcycles and UTV batteries charged at 2 different locations. They all work for about a year or maybe 18 months and then they simply die. The product is now cheaply made, and very light weight compared to the older ones that I purchased and are still working. Quality and reliability of these newer, lighter weight small chargers are very disappointing and I no longer recommend this brand. I have finally had enough of buying these chargers and will begin to ship them back to the manufacturer under warranty – what a hassle. Save yourself the aggravation of a failed unit that you have to ship back at your own cost and buy a different brand. Battery tender is not what it used to be! They give you a good warranty period but I would have to think that because you have to pay for shipping they are counting on people just disposing of them rather than retuning them. I would have to say that it has consistently been one of my worst purchases and I will stop buying this brand going forward.Read more

I ordered 2 of the 021-0123 Battery Tender Juniors. They arrived on time, I unpacked one of the 2, hooked leads up to the car battery, plugged in the charger and watched the light as I made the final connection. Everything went as the manual said it would. I was waxing the car as the charger was doing it’s thing and after about 15 minutes the charger started “clicking” and died. I unplugged it and waited a few minutes, plugged it back in, and nothing. I unpacked the 2nd 021-0123 Battery Tender Junior, intended for my motorcycle, plugged it in and it lasted maybe 15 seconds and did the same “clicking” thing and died. The replacement process went smooth but I have not received the new ones yet.Read more

Bought a pair of the Tender Jr. in 2012. I’m sure they have paid for themselves by maximizing the life of my expensive lead-acid batteries. There are plenty of reviews here proving that this is a quality product that has been around a long time. I wish to add that the company that makes Battery Tender products, Deltran, stands by their products. One of my “Juniors” recently stopped working after four years of continuous service. I emailed the company and received a prompt reply. I returned the unit and received a brand new replacement covered under their 5-year warranty. You can’t go wrong with this product or company. Edit: For those considering this product… It is not a battery charger. It is for maintaining fully charged batteries. There are some negative reviews from folks that did not realize what they were buying.Read more

DELTRAN Battery Tender, Jr 12volt, 750mA Automatic Charger. purchased from Amazon. VERY disappointed in this product, and this company. I purchased this product in Sept 2018 to keep a 14A-A2 quad battery topped off. It quit working mid June after only 21 months into a 60 month warranty. I tried to call Deltran several times and left a call back number, but no callback. Then I sent an email-same thing, no response. So I decided to look further online into warranty claims and discovered that they want you to send the failed unit back to them “on your dime”, and, enclose a check for $8.95. So after 21 months, I now need to basically spend the equivalent of more than half the original purchase price. Some warranty! Out of principle I probably will just throw this piece of junk out and purchase from a different manufacturer. I bought this model because of the 5 year warranty, had I know how it worked I probably would have chosen something else. DO NOT buy from DELTRAN, they apparently don’t care about their customers. This is a piece of junk. Lasted less then 2 months and quit working. I didn’t even use it very much, but plugged in in one day last week and nothing. If they are no better than this, and made in China anyway, I might as well buy the cheap ones from Harbor Freight. These are Battery Tender in name only, don’t waste your money.Read more

Paid for itself the first use. Fantastic. Accidentally killed a brand new car battery leaving a stereo hooked up in a car that sat for two weeks. Drained that sucker down to 4 volts. :-0 Once a car battery is at 9v or lower, common knowledge is it has to be replaced. But sometimes newer batteries can be saved. Apparently the key to saving a drained new battery is to trickle charge it back to life very slowly. I let the tender charge it for a couple hours, unplugged it and finished charging the next day. Battery took a full 13 volts and holds it well! Yay battery saved! If I would have jumped a battery that low it would have killed the battery and possibly the alternator. Thing saved me like 80 bucks already. Then I replaced a battery in another car, and found it wasn’t quite charged all the way brand new. Apparently even new batteries should be trickle charged before the first use to prolong the life. Brought that one from 12.4 to 13.0 volts in a couple hours. I haven’t even got to it’s intended use yet, which is to maintain a charged battery for long periods of time. This could break tomorrow, and I’d still feel I’ve got my money’s worth and buy another one.Read more

I have no idea who is leaving these great reviews but honestly the product is not good. I have been using these chargers for years, this brand is more expensive than most but they were always made in the USA so well worth it. Not anymore, the newest ones say made in China, and that alone is a huge problem. Tried this with several batteries and while it charges, very slowly it never enters float mode, so it’s always charging – even when another charger will show it’s full. After 24 hours and the battery overcharging already, we just disconnected it. Very poor product, clearly there is no longer any quality. Sorry you lost out on our business – all because of China.Read more

Unfortunately I cant give this product more than 1 star. Reason being is that I have a vehicle that I park for 6 months out of the year so I thought it would be a good idea to get one . I should mention that I bought this product because the battery I had just purchased 2 weeks previous was a brand new interstate battery . So I hook up the leads and you should get a solid green indicator. problem is it wouldn’t stop flashing green. So just to make sure it wasn’t my brand new battery I hooked it up to my other car and same result so sadly this product does not measure upRead more

I’m using this Battery Tender Jr. to keep my NA Miata’s battery topped up while it’s stored for the winter. Installation takes only a few minutes, and the instructions that come with it give all the necessary information. That being said, it’s pretty much the same as hooking up a battery booster, or jump starting a car, so anyone familiar with cars (the target demographic) won’t need the instructions anyway. In my opinion, the best feature of the Battery Tender trickle chargers is that most of them have split cables with capped connectors in the middle, and the way they hook up to the battery and ground is with ring terminals, so you can effectively connect the battery side and leave it hooked up permanently, and just connect the two halves of the cable when the vehicle is stored. Remove your car’s positive battery terminal, pull the tension bolt out of the clamp, add the BT Jr’s positive cable’s ring terminal to the clamp, put the bolt back through and reinstall. Connect the BT Jr’s negative ring terminal to a good ground (an existing body ground in the engine bay, or in my case the trunk is ideal), plug the two halves of the cble to each other, and plug the brick into an outlet. Takes like 5 minutes, and when you are ready to take your vehicle out of storage, unplug the brick, unplug the two halves of the cable from each other, slide on the attached rubber caps, and you’re ready to go. Being able to just leave it connected permanently is such a great feature for something like this meant specifically for summer vehicles or motorcycles. 100% recommended for ease of installation, good build quality, and very reasonable price.Read more
