If you answer True to > 4 you are considered “highly likely” to enjoy this game and need not review any further information before making your purchase. 1. I believe nihilism is the only true philosophy of life. 2. I’ve said “I drank way too much wine last night” at least one time this week. 3. I am reading this at work. 4. I would be intimate with Neil DeGrasse Tyson. 5. Sometimes I think about how it would be nice to play tennis. 6. I have an incomplete liberal arts degree. 7. I frequently feel like my life is spiraling out of control. 8. I have more cat memes, screenshots and nudes than pictures of my friends or family on my phone. 9. It is a fact that all possible futures are necessarily dystopian. 10. I believe anime is an under-appreciated genre. 11. Tacos are a superfood. 12. I would sooner scrape my skin off with a spoon than become a politician. Feel free to collaborate on further criteria in the comments.Read more

Every year since 2015 I have gotten a family gift from this company. We had a fairly good time playing exploding kittens, and the expansion pack was decent as well. However, I am very sad to say that I did not find this game entertaining in the slightest. The learning curve is pretty steep for a “20 minute” game. By the time we figured out how to play we had completely lost interest. I don’t think we will be playing this game again any time soon, if ever. Maybe it’s more entertaining for younger audiences? I do not think it is very good for teens/young adults. The product quality is very nice, the box is pretty and the cards are thick, not to mention the (semi) humorous illustrations. But overall I regret making this purchase. I sincerely hope the next game this company releases is better than this one, because this one is really unfun.Read more

I do believe that this game is rigged. My 14 year old son has won every game. This is ridiculous. He has even attempted entirely different strategies for each game he has won. I am truly believing that this game is broken and only works for one person at all. No satisfaction of winning has come to myself or my wife. Seriously considering returning it. But before that, maybe I should play just me and the wife, and see if even in that scenario my son ends up winning. That would be the last straw. Other than never winning, its fun.Read more

This game, unlike the previous games by the same creators, is incredibly boring. Yes you’ll laugh at the artwork and sheer absurdity of the game’s content but, this is mild subterfuge on the creator’s part. They lure you into wasting money purchasing a game, riding on the laurels of previous successes. Do not be fooled! One play through of this game will leave most avid gamers unsatisfied and bored to tears.Read more

Meh. Once you see all the cards and laugh at them, it loses appeal. My 10 yr old enjoys it, however.Read more

Exploding Kittens (and Imploding Kittens) were back-to-back Christmas gifts to my now 7-year-old daughter–and I somewhat lucked into that. I’ve read a lot of reviews about how much better that is than Bears vs Babies, but when “Santa” delivered this game and we started spending some time with it, I have to say that for me this is the better overall game due to the ease of play, the ease of learning for all ages, and just the fun factor. We could play this game non-stop (and have) and enjoy it just as much every time. The art on the games is excellent, the game play is easy, but loads of fun, and it has a furry box… what else could you want?! Two player games are a blast, but so are group adventures!Read more

You know, maybe I’ve gotten too old or maybe it’s because I’m a father now but this set of cards is too much. I got the NSFW set for Exploding Kittens and we have a great time with the cards. They are funny. We play a ton of NSFW Cards Against Humanity with family and friends and it’s never been too much. I expected the same from these cards and we get a kick out of the base game. That being said, this expansion has no redeeming value. Only one or two of the cards is funny and the rest are just gross and nasty. It’s all dicks and crap and nonsense. The condom that comes with the set and the babies are pretty funny but ninety percent of the build cards are awful and not funny. I just don’t get what they were going for here. I was very disappointed. If they release another expansion for this game I’d buy it but this set is an epic fail. I’m glad I got it on sale for $3 because it made throwing the cards in the trash not feel bad at all.Read more

Bought as a gift for my roommate for the holidays. Gave it early after it came because the packaging was so cool I couldn’t wait. Bears Vs Babies is more complex at first glance (go to the link on the back of the instruction manual and watch the How To Video). We played 2 player the first time, were able to pick up the rules, and played through a full game in 90 minutes. The cards are a good thickness, the gaming mat is extremely helpful (tip: read everything written on everything, else you’ll miss some minor, but funny details that make the game even more fun). The cards can be separated into Babies, Monster Building, and Action cards. No dice or anything else. Just the cards and mat are needed. Once you get going and learn, it’s a game of strategy, and playing with 2 is just as fun as playing with more. Honestly, you could get really creative and play alone (I have plenty of friends that modify table top games for this purpose). Provoking the Babies into attacking is hilarious, and collecting them when you win the war with your Monster Army is super fun. The illustrations are great and pretty detailed. The box itself is covered in synthetic “fun fur”, and is compact, so it won’t take up a huge space either. It was definitely worth the purchase price. Makes a great gift, and is suitable for teens and adults. Even my father (in his 60’s) thinks it’s hilarious.Read more

It took us a few days to get going with this game as after reading the instructions and even watching the online demonstration video a few times, it still didn’t really make sense. Looking back, this was because my son, in his excitement to get going, had unwrapped both sets of cards and mixed them together making it harder. The instructions advise against this and I can see why. Thankfully, the instructions also tell you how to sort the packs back into almost their original state and once we’d done that, the game became a LOT easier. Once we’d played it through in simple mode a couple of times, we were then able to add the other cards back in and the game became more exciting again. It’s now a firm favourite along with Exploding Kittens which we already had. For anyone who’s never played Exploding Kittens before, I would recommend getting that game first as it’s simpler and will give you a good introduction to this style of game but if you’ve already played that and are a fan then you will love this. As well as the funny characters on the cards, this game also comes in a fab, furry box which definitely sets it apart from your average card game. Everything you need is in the box – no dice or counters needed – just the cards and the fabric game board.Read more

It sounds a little complicated to start with, even when watching the animat d instructional video online. However just throw yourself into a practice game and use the faqs as you go and it’s great! Really easy!! My 6 year old daughter was enthralled for a good few hours. I really enjoyed the quality time and was happy to see my daughter using strategy to improve her chance of winning. Fab packaging that really sparked interest from my child. Great graphics and age appropriate too. I think kids below 10 are likely to enjoy this game too. However I wouldn’t go much younger than uk year one as they arent likely to follow the game too well.Read more

Exploding kittens has over time become the ultimate late night card game of choice for me and my friends. We often play it after a few drinks and the multiple opportunities for deceit makes the whole experience very entertaining (especially when you have a new player at the table who falls for the ol’ “draw from the bottom” trick). When I saw Bears vs. Babies I obviously had to try it out to see if that could be our next favorite game! Unfortunately, it probably wont be. There are a few things that makes BvB a bit less enjoyable, 1) it takes more time to understand and appreciate the rules of the game, 2) once you’re a bit tipsy its more things that you need to remember making it more difficult to win, 3) you need a lot more space on your table.. With that said, its still a good game and if you are someone who doesn’t enjoy a cocktail next to your card game and have a big bleep table to play on, you’ll surely enjoy it 🙂 Also, kudos for the fur box, when you’re down from just loosing a round, it helps to calm nerves.Read more

Not that there’s anything wrong with UNO but after a while you lose the will to live. I’d watch the video just to feel confident in playing the game correctly and once you have you’ll realise it’s not as complicated as it first appears. You’re basically using different cards to create your own little army of Bear monsters to battle the babies. The artwork is great, it’s fun and keeps the kids entertained with trying to create the wackiest one they can. Comes in a lovely little furry storage box! It’s a fun game for everyone but the price is a little steep methinks! However it’s a keeper that’ll be brought out every so often!Read more

My partner purchased this for me. Nice novelty box. Cool artwork. That’s were the good stuff ends. What a dull overly long game. Played it once and it never saw the light of day again. Much better card games with substance out there. Check out boardgame geek… Your paying over the odds here. Probably for the fur.Read more
