If you are a serious musician who expects Cordoba quality from a **$40 guitar**, this is not the sort of guitar for you. Hit up a pawn shop and hope someone else’s misfortune will be your good fortune. However, jf you are just starting out and want something inexpensive to find out if the guitar is for you, this is a good choice. If you are purchasing this for a teenager who is interested this week, but may or may not be next week, this is a good choice. If you want something inexpensive to travel with that sounds pretty good, but won’t break your heart when it inevitably gets damaged by the airline, this is for you. If you’re drunk shopping and drunk you doesn’t know if sober you wants a guitar, this is a good choice. It is not a toy and it is not appropriate for a small child. It is a good, basic starter guitar for less than a good set of strings will cost you.Read more

The media could not be loaded. This is a nice little guitar for a kid. Probably more suitable for ages 6-12. The strings stretch alot at first so tuning is a constant BUT you have a guitar tuner included. I have it 4 stars because the case is really cheap and thin, won’t take much to rip it. I also recommend getting a set of different picks. The one included is insanely huge but GREAT for little fingers just not adult ones lol the pitch pipe is awesome and works as a second toy for the kids to play with. All in all this is a great guitar for a child learning to play and for the price!!Read more

This arrived broken. Complete junk. I bought this guitar because I didn’t want to invest in an expensive one, not knowing how far I would take my learning. It arrived broken, I was unable to keep it in tune, and it sounded like crap. I wound up going to my local Guitar Center and spending another $150 on a proper quality used guitar. Do yourself a favor and just go buy a $150 guitar from guitar center. There is zero reason to buy this crap guitar. Not sure if you want to actually learn guitar or not? Buying a crap guitar like this will ensure you never do learn. If you want to learn guitar, buy a real one. Not this junk. Within minutes of getting my new Guitar Center guitar home, I immediately found more joy in my learning and practice.Read more

Got this for $40 in Dec 2015. I’ve been playing guitar myself for about 13 years, so here’s my review on it: $40 for a beginner guitar? It is worth it! Bought this for a 5 year old niece for Christmas. She loves the color (pink) and having her own guitar! But a month later, the most she’s done with it is strum all the strings and sing Jingle Bells. But I’m sure she’ll soon get around to wanting to actually play. As for the guitar itself, I absolutely love the sound it produces! Such a full-bodied sound! I actually like to play it more than my own acoustic (still have my original Squier beginner acoustic guitar, it is alright.). The strings are really light/thin and I actually broke the G string on the first day while trying to tune it. Luckily, it comes with an extra set of strings (though they’re unmarked, so you have to figure out which string is which) Pros: Full-bodied sound Cheap price for a beginner (won’t break the bank) and if it breaks, not a big loss Guitar is scaled down a little bit so it should be easier for younger people to fully grasp it Kids should love the awesome color choices — my 5 year old niece loves the pink one! Cons: The tuners (the knobs at the head of the guitar for tuning the strings) are not very accurate and perhaps the string slips, so expect to have to tune it every time you play The strings are very light/thin and may break easily (I broke a string when I first tuned it) The extra strings do not have any labels at all so you’ll have to figure out which is which The fret dividers (the thin metal strips on the neck of the guitar) are rough and slightly affect the sound The neck of the guitar does NOT have the standard dot inlays to easily figure out which fret you’re on — I used Pearl White nail polish and made a dot(s) where they should be. It worked pretty wellRead more

Our granddaughter wanted a guitar but we were unsure how committed she would be to learning how to play. This is a nice package without a huge investment. We tuned it up and it sounds great. We got the black and it certainly looks and sounds like a much more expensive guitar. She flies here for the summers so the case was a nice addition for her to take it on the plane with her. Very pleased with this purchase.Read more

Such a great kit for a beginner. Gives them everything they need to get started. The quality of the strings isn’t great, but you can replace those pretty easily. The pitch pipe also isn’t super impressive, but you really don’t need it when you have the electric tuner (or you can just use an online tuner). The only complaint with this is that the strap was filthy when it arrived. Threw it in the washing machine and it was fine. Also, the strap is kind of small, so if it’s a bigger kiddo or a grownup using it, you might have to get a different one. Overall though, this is a great inexpensive instrument to learn/practice on.Read more

This guitar is crap! I bought is as a Christmas adoption present for a little girl who wanted a “pink guitar!” Now I’m embarrassed that Santa will be bringing her this trash guitar that won’t stay in tune. I mean it won’t stay in tune long enough for me to tune up the other strings! I’d return it, but the gift is due Monday. How did this get such good ratings?!!! I wish Ed’s review had been in prior to me purchasing. I guess that’s what I get for not opening it up and trying it out before now. Ugh!!!!Read more

I chose this because it was inexpensive which is great as a starting point for a beginner. The quality is okay while there are some finishing flaws in the stain but again I bought it because it is inexpensive. Came with a tuning aid, a pick, a set of extra strings (the cheapest quality strings I am sure), a carry bag and a shoulder strap. However there is no where to attach the shoulder strap on the guitar. It was good enough to give me bang for my buck without spending hundreds of dollars on a more expensive guitar as a start up unit. I am certain once I get going I will eventually invest in a more expensive, better quality and likely brand name guitar but for now this will do. I have purchased some Gibson strings to put on it when the ones I have need to be replaced as I have already had to replace a couple of strings. If you don’t care about the things I mentioned then it is a good value…Read more

It’s a pretty good beginner guitar. One of the strings broke then I tried to restring using the extra strings that came with it but that broke too. I went to a music store to get it restrung they put nylon strings on it. But they also said it’s a decent beginner guitar. They said it’s a bit smaller than a regular guitar but it’s fine for beginners. I’ll get another proper one in the future when I get better but for now it seems like this is decent. Pretty good for the value.Read more

I play just a little bit and I wanted to buy a guitar just to dabble around when I felt like it. But this is a great example of how cheap prices reflect the quality. Bought it, realized only after a month when I finally tried to play a few tunes that no matter what, it would always sound out of tune in 5 minutes. Nothing you do can produce a great tune. I still have it collecting dust. Perhaps my husband can do what he always wanted to do ever since we watched the movie Trolls – throw it in a bonfire.Read more

For the price its cheap..and the guitar itself looks alot cheaper..physical appearance paint smudges, edge of guitar not rounded i think its crooked then just repaired it, and how can you put the strap if there is only one to hook up too? I can provide pictures if you want to.Planning to return it and get a full refund. And probably get a new one still in Amazon..but a branded one.Read more

If you are purchasing this for a young child learning to play the guitar it will do, but if you are looking for quality, you won’t find it here. Bought this for my husband for Christmas but knew as soon as I opened the box that this was not something he was going to like so gave it to my eleven year old. It was shipped UPS and no one was home when it arrived. It was left on my door step. Thankfully the neighbors noticed and brought it into their home as anyone could have stolen a big box left on the doorstep at Christmas time. The quality is cheap and smaller then expected. The first time we tried to tune it, one of the strings broke. Will definitely need to buy better strings. It comes with a shoulder strap that is essentially useless because there is no place to attach it to the guitar. The tuner didn’t seem to work, we ended up downloading an app from one of our phones, which worked better but still doesn’t sound right. Overall it is fine for my daughter to play with but not something I would waste money buying had I seen in personRead more
