EVERY webpage I go to — and I mean every last page, including Bitdefender’s page — causes a cascade of notifications to pop up on my computer, making it virtually impossible to use the internet. The notifications are not only annoying, but they also take the focus off of the input field you are working on and make it difficult to type in search strings. I left Webroot because they started annoying me to renew my subscription MONTHS before it was due to expire. But even that was not as annoying as the constant notification popups with Bitdefender. Do yourself a favor and DON’T install this program on your machine.Read more

The is my first time using BitDefender as a long time user of Norton 360 (slows operation) and McAffee Total Protection (should be named Total Useless). I bought this after McAffee expired and Norton 360 Premium 2020 would not install on MacBook Pro running Catalina OS. I intend to use this on a MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone 11, and a Lenovo YOGA Windows PC (2019). So far, I have installed it on MacBook Pro, iPhone 11, and Lenovo PC. My initial review is that it is very easy to install on all these devices and has a great GUI. However, it is best suited for use on a Windows PC. Many features that appear on my Lenovo PC (Windows 10 Pro) do not appear available on the MacBook Pro. Since I am predominately an Apple product person, I am somewhat disappointed with this. I will continue to try it, but would NOT recommend it at this time for anyone who only uses Apple (IOS) products.Read more

Decided to change my AV, read the PCMag reviews and easily picked Bitdefender (BD) because it has the best review and the most features. I was so confident that it would work that never bother to ask for trial copy. Instead, purchased the full version and installed it. Big mistake. Although the features are impressive, as reported by PCMag, including an extremely useful feature that stops Chrome, Windows 10, and all messy programs from doing background tasks while I use my computer for work and do not want any program doing background things that they can do overnight, I discovered that BD does not allow a critical Outlook plug in to work, which I need to run my business. After 2 to 3 weeks of BD tech support in which I wasted a lot of time, they concluded that BD cannot stop its application from preventing the Outlook plug in from working and promised to address the problem in a future release. I installed Kaspersky anti-virus, it recognized my critical Outlook plug in as a reputable application and it worked flawlessly. Problem solved. Lessons learned: If you have critical business applications you need to run, especially Outlook plug ins, I would not jump into BD and screw up your system and waste a lot time as I did. At the most I would install it in a test computer and see how it work. At least in my experience Kaspersky is more refined and it recognizes business applications it needs to allow to run. It even presents reputation scores for all business applications in my computer, which shows that Kaspersky already thought about this issue and elegantly know how to address it, unlike BD.Read more

Just like nearly everyone else I jumped ship from Norton because of their completely insane tactic for getting everyone’s credit card info after a sale. That’s completely unacceptable for a “security” company to force people to upload their credit card info somewhere it’s not needed. If people wanted the auto-renew feature they’d sign up for it on their own. As for BitDefender, it seems to be doing it’s job but then again, how would we know it’s not working against a threat until something defeats it??? ALL internet security is a leap of faith. Norton lost my trust. Their idiotic move reminds me of when TurboTax decided to drop Schedule D from their Deluxe version and “force” people to upgrade. We didn’t, we jumped to TaxCut.Read more

Addendum 6/21: Many time a day, getting pop up windows to sell other services. After 2 hours of frustrating installation, finely installed on PC. Issues: Go to different pages to read user agreement, privacy policy, etc., with no return to previous page. Installation complete and could not go to sites such as “Bing” and “Yahoo Mail”. Look for help, only email so if PC now has issues, your stuck until they reply. In order to install on other devices, you must install Microsoft software to share resources across the devices. I do not want this on my phone or tablet much less on my wife’s phone and tablet. I would never recommend this to anyone.Read more

The last time I renewed my Bitdefender Total Security, I just browsed around a few different software/keys sites, but this was the best deal I fond. Per total devices and per years, this was the best price. Delivery was pretty fast and the card arrived with a small scratch-off surface with the actual activation key on it. Really didn’t take long at all to activate. Logged in to my Bitdefender account then added it through the Subscription tab. Although I usually prefer digital downloads this was still a very good deal and easy to take care of.Read more

Installed about a month ago. Now getting BSOD daily. Uninstalled and reinstalled per Bitdefender tech, ok for 2 days now doing again. Do not recommend this program. Have uninstalled/reinstalled 5 times, still get BSOD soon after turning on computer. Just completed total uninstall, no more BSOD problems.Read more

I was skeptical. Too good a price to be true. But it works great. It added 2 years to my current subscription as promised. Love bit defender. Haven’t had a computer crash in almost 5 years….much better than norton. Extremely user friendly.Read more
