After nearly 30 years of using a cable based winter cover installation I stumbled on these cover clips as a suggested add on to my cover purchase. These are fantastic! What a great idea and easy to install. No more winches. No more freezing my ass off taking up cable slack in February. These clips have already kept my cover in place in winds gusting to 70mph. One of those simple ideas I wish I had invented. My sincerest thanks to the inventor.Read more

These pool clips were easy to put on. I bought two packs and put them on the pool cover. The first little bit of wind and most of them popped off and were on the ground. I reclipped them on and the next day a small fall breeze came through with a cool front and they popped off again. I have left them on the ground as they poop off and now i am seeing which if any will make it clipped on until pool season next year. I will not buy againRead more

Couldn’t be happier! I read a lot about how pool clips are garbage for actually keeping the cover on – but I still bit the bullet and picked these up. These things have worked great! These clips were so tight I had to use my fingers to get them open and hold them open when clipping the cover to the pool – and the corners tore my fingers up – but that OK, because these things hold that cover on tight! Just what I want! I live in Maryland and closed the pool before Halloween. We haven’t had any crazy hurricane-like storms, but that cover hasn’t moved an inch since I put them on.Read more

I was disappointed with this product. I had hoped it would be the solution to our problem, but it was not. To be fair, the issue may well be our pool and not the product, but I don’t know. The previous owner built the deck too close to the pool, so we can’t use the cable and winch on the cover because there’s not room to get the cable under the lip, so the cover always wants to gap away from the edge by the deck. We’ve tried milk jugs, but the weight only breaks the grommets and tears the cover. When I saw these clips and the great reviews saying they held through high winds and even through hurricane Sandy, I was excited. It’s very windy here, and that’s our main challenge. I even put rubber dish grippers under the clips for better holding power without slipping, as suggested by another reviewer. Unfortunately, the wind still seems to flap the cover and pop the clips off (of course, letting any dirty puddled water and leaves right down into the pool). From the great reviews, I had really hoped this would be our solution, but it doesn’t seem to be. Again, perhaps the clips would hold better if we could get them the whole way around the pool—but then, so would the cable that comes with the cover and we wouldn’t have needed to try the clips to begin with… I hope to make it through this winter with a combination of milk jugs and these clips, because I really do like that they don’t ruin the grommets. We’ll see how it goes. And PS—the product calls for two clips per section of pool. I’m currently using three per section, hoping that’ll increase the gripping power and better our chances of success.Read more

These didn’t last a week. On the west side of the pool, apparently the sun warmed them up and they softened, expanded and fell off. Returning.Read more

These clip on to a regular pool but I don’t have a regular metal sided pool. My pool is a 2 x 10 wood sided pool and when the wind kicked up these blew off. But I wasn’t able to find anything that worked due to the type of pool I have. I’m guessing these would work good on a regular pool; but they do get stretched out with use so they’re probably only good for a year or two of use.Read more

Buy these well in advance for pool closing season unless you want sharp edges and burrs on the edge of the product that could potentially tear your cover. The first set I bought was flawless but I ordered a 2nd set during the height of pool closing season for my mother in laws pool and the order was delayed due to high volume. When they arrived it was clear the manufacturer no longer cared about quality. It seemed like they were more concerned about volume at that time. They still work fine but I took a piece of sandpaper to all of them before installing.Read more

Seemed nice at first. But they came right off in the first good wind of 20mph. We can get a lot of wind in the country and they didn’t work. Might only be good to hold cover in place while you string it up and put on water bags. I think one of the other reviewers were correct that they expand and become loose in the sun.Read more

I found these on line when looking for a new pool cover and thought they would be a lot better than our usual routine of tying the pool cover down and using tent pegs into the ground. I found they worked really well. They were a little hard to open enough and get onto the edge of the pool but the more we did the easier it got. They are strong. I have an 18 foot round pool, half of which is surronded by a deck. I recommend using at least 4 grips per section for security and strength. They look a lot better than the tent pegs. The quality is good but I think they are somewhat expensive at $32+ given they are just a strip of plastic cut into lengths. I think $10 is more than enough to charge but alas, the price was not mine to make and I trust I will get a few years use out of them so am happy enough with my purchase.Read more

They are asking whey too much money for what you get. They are just cheap Pieces of plastic and they do do fit all above ground pools, mine being one of them. Our pool has a plastic top rail because it was designed as a salt water pool and the lip of the rail is bigger and the clips will not fit. They might on a steel top rail, but I don’t know for sure. I ended up improvising. I wrapped the pool cover around the tensioning cable and then slipped the plastic cable over it. I won’t know for sure how it works until we get some high winds.Read more

I bought these cover clips to keep my the winter cover on my 30 foot above ground winter pool cover from blowing around in the wind. Strong winds coming through my yard were causing my cover to blow upwards and flap like crazy, putting a lot of strain on the material. From the information I read about them, I thought they would pretty much eliminate the problem. When they arrived, I went out and put them on immediately as it was a another windy day. While they did snug the top of the cover down far more than it had been, they didn’t really stop the billowing/flapping problem much. It turns out that I needed something weighted to pull the cover down the side walls of the pool to really make a difference. I ended up putting a pool pillow in the middle with some free-standing water and water bags on top of the cover. That, together with the clips, has been way more effective in dealing with the problem. The clips do help to limit the problem , so they’re not a bad idea.Read more

Very easy to clip on and they keep my winter cover in tact! Very happy with these. (Tip: when installing start at one end and slip on. Seems to be the easiest way).Read more
