Just got this today and tested it out, here’s the scoop. I’m rating it low because it does absolutely nothing for shock absorption. Touching your boom will still result in the Yeti picking up the sound. So absolute zero in every test I ran it through in that department. It’s plastic, not quality. But this does work as a mount. Appears to hold the microphone well, and depending on your boom arm, acts as an extender. That allows for slightly better positioning. That’s all. An overpriced mic mount. Not to say I expected much as it is much cheaper than other shock mounts on the market, yet this is quite pitiful even compared to that standard. Looks cool, does squat. If you’re serious about your sound, scroll past this product.Read more

Well for 20 dollars, this mount isn’t the greatest. The elastic is so tight that it really doesn’t prevent any noise, maybe a 20% reduction. I have this mounted to a side desk next to my main one, and I bought this to prevent any noise traveling through and getting picked up while I stream. An important point: This is intended for the NORMAL YETI or SNOWBALL, which will work fine, IF YOU HAVE A YETI NANO OR OTHER SMALL MIC, be sure you use a thin and long adapter of some sort, like I did in my second image. The standard mount is very wide, and you need to adapt it into either 3/8 or 1/4, and get a long enough camera screw mount (or something else) so you have room to plug in the mic and/or audio cable at the bottom. I’m a filmmaker by trade so I had these parts on hand. The build quality is plastic but sturdy feeling, and at the very least, it should help in the long run.Read more

Basic, simple, easy to use. Fit on my old microphone stand with the 3/8″ threading “inside” the 5/8″ inch (so it works on both standard sizes). Blue Yeti fastened in seconds. The part that connects the shock ring to the stand is plastic, with metal connectors embedded to connect to the stand. I had to take a close look at it to tell that part was plastic, as it appears quite sturdy, and similar to the shock ring. The actual shock absorbing ring, inner and outer are made of metal with high quality finish (Unless they’ve invented plastic that ‘clanks’ when tapped with something metal). Definitely works as advertised, and looks like pictures on Amazon (as of 6/15/2020).Read more

I use this with a Yeti x mic. This DOES NOT accommodate most usb cables. There is not enough space to plug a standard usb in while using. If you happen to find a usb small enough, small and slight movements knock it out or loose. I would recommend for you to keep looking if you have a Yeti XRead more

Bought 2 of these for our Blue Yetis and so far, so good. My wife uses hers mic up and I use mine mic down, both on a boom arm, and no issues with either after a couple of weeks of use. Fighting Over the Card Catalog is our podcast, where my wife makes me read and review young adult books from her youth. If you listen to older episodes and then listen to the newest, you can hear the difference.Read more

With the arm I got for my Yeti Nano, I really didn’t need this good of a shock mount, but I’m happy nonetheless. NOTE: you will want a thick washer (5/8″x1/8″?) when mounting a Yeti Nano. The USB cable needs a little extra space to not get sandwiched by the mount. It works great, just a marginally less than perfect fit.Read more

I took a chance on this mount for my CAD Equitek E-200 mic. I am happy to say it works and completely compatible. My one small issue is that I had to use a razor blade to scrape out the residual plastic from the threads of the mounting hole so that it would screw onto a mic stand. Not a dealbreaker, it just took a second.Read more

After using this for some months I had to swap on another Blue Yeti and it seems the mounting bolt got cross-threaded. It won’t grab now at all. I have another Yeti mount that I’ve mounted/unmounted mics from numerous times over a few years that didn’t have this problem.Read more

Overall design is great and fits my Blue Yeti. It is strong enough to support the mic on it’s own and light enough to fix to an arm.Read more
