The product came defective or the product description is inaccurate. The description says it can staple 45 pages of paper. In the pictures I have a stack of 45 pages, and it only manages to partially penetrate. I used the staples recommended by the manufacturer (3/8”). I am disappointed with my experience.Read more

this thing rocks. Has a heavy duty feel to it, and has yet to seriously jam on me. When I first got it loaded up I tried to shoot a couple staples without any paper or cardboard in the thing, just to test it out. It did jam once then, because there was nothing to draw the closed staple downward. I’d recommend avoiding doing that. As for my intended purpose for this, I ship a lot of packages and recycle/repurpose a lot of cardboard boxes. This stapler is going to save me a lot of money because I can now make my own boxes by cutting them from larger pieces of cardboard and stapling them in place nicely before applying tape. This thing punched right through four single layers of corrugated cardboard like nothing. The staples are not what I would consider heavy duty and I would not rely on them alone to keep a corrugated package closed. However they work great for holding flaps together before taping, and add something other than packing tape to keep things together. I’d buy it again.Read more

Overall its functional. There are some problems with this design. 1. The loading on the top is open which continuously get expose to dust and debris if it’s being used in an environment such as a warehouse. This is one of the culprit of the stapler getting jammed. 2. Any staple shorter than 1/2 inch is extremely hard to slide in the compartment without the assist of a pliers or tweezers. You will be frustrated after one attempt after another. If you bought staples from Amazon, expect poor packaging. You will have a bunch of pieces less than 1/2. I just throw away all pieces less than 1/2 inch. What a waste. This is also one reason for the jams. 3. Pieces of staples will break off and get stuck in the stapler. The only way to remove it is with a plier or tweezers. There is no other way to open it up. This also causes jams. 4. You can’t take it apart to clean it. Dirty parts cause jams. It works well when everything is good. When it jams, you can spend more time than desire to make it work again. Also, always have a needle noise plier or a tweezer with you when using this stapler.Read more

Staples will not fit in the track no matter how hard I try. The track is too big for the 1/4″ Staples that were recommended for the stapler. I don’t know what to do to get it resolved. This is really frustrating because I live on a ranch in the middle of no where and it is more difficult for me to get the staples. That’s why I ordered them. This has not turned out good.Read more

It is a very good solid steel plier type stapler that should last for a long time. I’m tired of these cheap plastic table model staplers that you press down to work. They jam more than they work. This type of stapler gives you more control and a lot more leverage since you are squeezing the staple from both sides. One caveat: make sure you order the Bostitch “B8 power crown” staples. I thought all Bostitch staples were the same. Wrong. They do sell the conventional flat staple that fits Arrow & Swingline. The flat bostitch staples DO NOT FIT the Bostitch B8 power crown plier type stapler. There is one more issue you have to deal with: the packers that work at Amazon throw a cardboard box full of staples into a brown insulated envelope, but they do not add filler or air pillows. Hence the box gets kicked around inside of bag. By the time the envelope gets to your mailbox , the staples are out of the box and broken in half or even quarters. Of course, that will never be fixed. My advice: when that happens to your staples, call Amazon, they’ll comp you for the staples and tell you to keep them. Then re-order and hope for the best!Read more

I have fought, struggled and cried for four years now with my Arrow stapler. The known-across-the-galaxy chrome Arrow stapler that’s supposed to be the best product ever invented. That thing has been a piece of crap since day one. I staple cardboard mailing tubes (and their caps). It jams and misfeeds almsot nonstop. I have never been angrier with an inanimate object than that thing. Imagine my surprise when I came across this contender. Advertised no-jam technology? Sign me up! My word is this thing so much nicer. 25% of the effort to staple the same thickness, a million times quieter. Easier to load, can easily see how many staples are left. What used to physically wear my hand out (doing ten tubes at once), incredibly loud racket, took over five minutes…… now is less strenuous than watching TV and takes less than 60 seconds. Kudos to Bostitch and the engineer that invested this.Read more

I was working on a rather odd crafting project and encountered two materials that needed to be securely joined, but I couldn’t find something the fit my needs. They were two pieced of thick plastic boning that need to be permanently connected. I tried to hand sew them, but I could not get a needle through like a machine could. I considered glues, but the whole construction relied on tension, and I didn’t want to risk it coming apart. I eventually had the idea to use staples. This cage I was building was going to be covered up, so it didn’t need to look pretty, just be sturdy. My sad little office stapler could barely get through one layer of plastic, let alone two. I went searching for something stronger. I found this heavy duty stapler and was sold! The stapler arrived and I went to try it. Beautiful success! The stapler was incredibly strong and easily pierced multiple thick layers of strong plastic. While I’ve never used it on paper, I can’t imagine that it would have any issue with flimsy paper. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone needing a stronger stapler in their life!Read more

Read more

I work in a restaurant and we staple orders to brown bags and we all use this model so it has seen a LOT of wear and tear and still works well, also has a comfortable grip. I ordered one for myself and it was as intended, BUT not with the 3/8 staples as intended, they will fit but the next one will not engage so you have to manually load each one which makes no sense.. clearly it is meant to be used with the 1/4 staples. Loading feels a bit klonky too you really have to pull hard but once everything is in place it works greatRead more

Great tool BUT it cannot open up like the older models to be used as a tacking stapler. Also, it doesn’t like the heavy gauge (18 gauge) staples that the older models can handle. Although they fit in the stapler and the driver pushes the staple out, the slightly wider staples jam when the staple tips contact the crimping plate forcing the staple to swing towards the plier handles. I have compared it to an older heavy duty model that these heavier staples work just fine with. Therefore this is based on actual use not wild guess work. Other than the above issues, when using just the specific B-8 staples (narrower gauge) the tool performs perfectly. A slight redesign of the crimping area would allow it to perform the way the older versions did with those heavier gauge staples. Too bad the “heavy duty” moniker is a bit of a misnomer.Read more

squeezing the grip allows strong pressure to be applied, the thin bottom portion permits inserting it in ends of boxes to secure loose flaps as well as thick stacks of paper etc. extremely sturdy/rugged. only downside needs special staples but for what it does, worth it.Read more

Read more
