My 17-month-old son loves to buckle the strap on his changing table pad, high chair, stroller, etc. So I thought this toy would be the perfect travel buddy for our upcoming 2-hour flight. Well, my son was excited to see this toy at first, but after he tried the buckles, frustration made him hate it. The straps have no slack to them, so he finds it difficult to pull them together while trying to clasp the buckle. Also, these buckles are miniature compared to what he is used to on the aforementioned baby gear. By comparison, the plastic is thin and flimsy. He has a hard time manipulating the smaller pieces. He ends up throwing it across the room after about 10 seconds of effort every time he picks it up. Not what I hoped it would be.Read more

I was hesitant to buy this b/c of the cost, but I could probably get rid of every single toy I own and just have this and my daughter would be happy. She carries this thing with her everywhere, and it keeps her occupied for an insane amount of time. She is 19 months old and obsessed with buckles, and she will just sit and do all the buckles, then run it over to me so I can unbuckle them, and then she’ll start buckling them again (and that pattern will last for up to an hour straight of just buckling over and over again). I love that she finally has a toy that captures her attention and focus as much as tv does lol.Read more

The smiley face is adorable, it has a zip pocket your little one can keep a small treasure in, 6 buckles with a satisfying CLICK that’s audible when they connect it. Has 5 little numbered flaps which feature ocean creatures underneath (4 is either a dolphin or shark, can’t quite tell?). The square numbered 3 has crinkling material in it! My son Levi is 19 months and hugs the face side to his face and pats it like the dog. He LOVES when the buckles click successfully! He’s also learning how to open that zipper treasure pouch on top. Very soft, great value, seems pretty sturdy so far. NO defects, no weird smells. If you need to wash, put it in a zippered pillowcase and normal/gentle cycle (if your washer has a gentle setting), then low heat in pillowcase or hang on a hanger and air dry. I’ll be buying a couple more of these as gifts for others with toddlers and possibly our next little one if Levi wears his out too much. both myself and husband and even his grandmas and grandpa are impressed with this toy and its qualityRead more

I was hesitant to purchase this item for $20 – it seemed like a lot to me, but my 19 month old twin boys love buckling things and we were going to be taking an airplane trip and I needed some distraction tactics. I bought one for each of them – they LOVE them. They were used on the plane for periods of distraction, but even now at home I will find them playing quietly with their buckle toys – they like them in their high chairs too. I’m guessing they’d enjoy them in their car seats on a road trip too. If your child has any interest in buckling/zipping, these are totally worth it! My 4 year old enjoys buckling them as well. I liked the square pillow rather than some of the others only because it seemed easier to mix and match buckles to reduce frustration.Read more

My son is almost 1 and one of his favorite things to chew on are straps and plastic buckles (e.g. car seat, changing table, etc.). He has not yet developed the skills for opening and closing buckles, but loves this toy and will happily sit holding it by one of the straps while he munches happily on a buckle. I can see this being very entertaining for him as he develops. He does also like the back of the toy where there are colored number flaps that can be pulled up to reveal a sea creature. He enjoys lifting them up to see the pictures.Read more

My daughter is almost 18 months, and I bought this toy for a recent plane trip. It was recommended to me by one of my mom friends. When it first arrived, she wasn’t terribly interested, and I was wondering if she was too young for it. In a few days, she became very interested. This toy can hold her attention for 10 straight minutes (almost a lifetime for a young toddler haha) and she keeps coming back to it. She really enjoys unbuckling and then buckling all the different buckles and I love to see her working so hard on her fine motor skills. She gets very excited when she finally hears that click, when the buckle goes in just right. She had a rough flight home from our trip and was tired from all the traveling, but at one point in all her wiggling and crying, she sat on my lap and played with this toy, totally focused for quite a while, when she hadn’t been able to focus on anything else for more than a minute. The toy now has her interested in other buckles- high chair, car seat, etc, and she’s learned to say the word “buckle.” The toy seems well made and like it will last. In summary, I recommend this toy and I would buy this again.Read more

This is a cute little pillow-like buckle toy. But it was a bit smaller than I had anticipated, especially for the price. My son (23 months) will play with it for a few minutes and get bored. That is NOT a reflection on the toy though and more a reflection on my son’s attention span! I was hoping it would be a little bigger so we could put a few things in the zipper compartment to use as storage for other small toys when we fly but it isn’t that big. Maybe a couple of hot wheel cars will fit or a snack back of snacks. Overall I think it’s a cute toy but wish it were just a bit bigger for $20.Read more

A clever little toy which seems well made ( I was rather concerned by reviews suggesting loose buckles). Certainly meets the well known toddler need to “do it up” and then “undo it” and I think this is just the thing. Clever little zip pocket at the top which sadly does not have the lining stitched into the bottom so your little one may well experience inverted pocket rage at some point. Arrived quickly and thoughtfully presented, nice tags showing the Buckle Toy range and CE mark and in a Buckle Toy clear plastic bag.Read more

We bought this as our daughter loves playing with buckles…. High chair buckle, trike buckle, pushchair buckle, to name a few. So we thought she would like this and that she does. It helps when on walks in the pram to keep her entertained as she gets frustrated with the pushchair buckle being done up as she can’t play with it. The combinations although colour coordinated can be done in different orders as there are three clasp types in total so two colours per clasp. Really good stuff, keeps her entertained and has vibrant colours on.Read more

My toddler enjoys playing with this toy. We bought it when he was 15 months but he didn’t show any interest then. It was at 18 months he seemed to discover the toy and buckles in general. Now he is almost two years old and the toy is a guaranteed distraction for about 7-10 minutes – longer, if I unbuckle and hand back to him. Good for journeys and lulls in the day. Lower star rating as I feel it is expensive for what it is.Read more

Keep the little one quiet in the back of the car for a while. Amazing for fine motor skills and colour matching. My little one loves it although she does get bored after a couple of successful attempts.Read more

It’s well made, was well packaged. It Keeps my son amused as he tried to connect the buckles. He can’t undo them so we do it together. He’s 21 months. I got it because he’s started trying to do up his pushchair etc and it was to keep him occupied on a flight initially. He likes the flaps on it tooRead more
