Wow works great took down alot of flys one shot.siting on back gazebo shooting anything that moves it seems like the flys were informed that I’m packing heat a few got away only wounded I assume. My Roomba has been picking up the salt and corps.Keep away from stupid people and kids. I have recently retired so I do have a little time on my hands and this really makes killing flies a lot cleaner it doesn’t draw blood . At point-blank it can blow their heads off.Lots of fun killing those pesky flies.I feel I have it all now.Read more

To wasps, I am Hitler. I have fly swatters (that I use for wasps) mounted at multiple stations around my house. This works well, but not as good as this gun! Unfortunately, I’m not as fast as a wasp so the fly swatter method takes a lot of patience. I’ve yet to kill a fly with this thing because I have no flies buzzing around my house, but I’m really looking forward to it. I do, however, have a LOT of wasps of many different sizes and varieties. I’ve yet to find one I can’t kill with this gun helping me. I was reluctant to buy this Bug-A-Salt gun because I read in some of the comments that it takes more than one shot to kill a wasp. I can verify this is true. In fact, I’ve never killed a wasp with this thing, no matter how may times I shoot him. However, you don’t need more than one shot! I shoot wasps in mid air and they drop to the ground and then I just step on them. I have no remorse. This is far more effective than a fly swatter or spraying liquid poison everywhere. The salt this thing shoots comes out with a surprising amount of force. I even deliberately shot myself in the calf from 4 inches to see what it would do to me. This was not smart. It left a serious mark and holes in my skin. It hurt pretty bad and the pain lasted a couple/few days. I still have a bruise and tiny red holes on the surface. My recommendation to anyone attempting to shoot an insect with this is not to get too close. You don’t want the air blowing the insect away – causing the salt to miss. You want the salt to pierce its exoskeleton instead. I shoot wasps at about 1 to 2 feet away. It’s really interesting because they don’t die or fall like a rock. Instead, they’re in such a high amount of pain that they flutter down to the ground within two seconds – unable to flap their wings or escape their impending doom. At that point, it’s lights out! I use coarse, kosher, Morton salt (bought a large box from Walmart for $3). Wasps check in…. *loads gun*…. but they don’t check out.Read more

Overpriced, the flies wouldn’t budge or be killed. I think I basically sprayed my house with salt. I’m a sharpshooter with real guns, so it’s definitely not my aim. I went back to my old fly squatter with a million kills since 1985.Read more

I recently moved to Southeastern Pennsylvania and noticed two trees on my property covered in these invasive pests, usually too high for me to reach. This works great–kills them within a few feet and can stun/knock them off the tree from 5+ feet, giving me a much better range. Note that it will blast holes in leaves from close distances but does not appear to damage stems.Read more

Had one of these a few years ago, decided to order another one. And killing flies is actually enjoyable. And then when those pesky flies aren’t around your sad because you want to shoot more! I went spider hunting with it… DO NOT DO THIS! It just angered them.

The media could not be loaded. Awesome. I had bought and returned a UV lamp to get rid of flies, but this is air pistol is the best solution, flies can’t seek protection behind plants or blinds, I even smashed one against the window plastic frame, I’m so satisfied with it. Plus it’s fun, addictive so be careful you stop doing anything else to hunt flies around, even outdoor LOLRead more

It is a little pricey but no more than a nice dinner and unlike the dinner, you will enjoy it for a longer time. Makes killing flies a sport. I have shot them out of the air! Of coarse they like to navigate your windows and if you are good enough with a rolled up newspaper you will finally get him but now you have a smear on the window to clean up! Great for around the grill. The flies seem to communicate somehow because every time I decide to reduce the neighborhood fly population and head out back with my gun, they disappear! Even tried baiting them with a segment of a peanut butter sandwich and the little cowards were afraid to show their face!Read more

Bye lantern flies!! Should have ordered this sooner, while they were baby nymphs. They are now in the bright red phase and this is most effective as their sight is better and they are faster to escape traditional smooshing- which also would be really gross in this stage. Ordered a 4 pack of traditional table salt (based on other costumer review recommendations to avoid overpriced salt marketed for salt guns) and it’s working fabulously! Highly recommend this Bug-A-Salt and the use of average table salt. No regrets here!! P.S. Shooting at super close rangeRead more

Read more
