First and foremost, these work. Polyester panels are very good at absorbing noise, echo, and reflections in a room. However, at only 3/8″ thick, they’re a little less effective on their own than I expected for the price. If I double them up on the wall, it makes a noticeable difference compared to just a single layer of panel. Unfortunately, this means that some 2″ thick foam panels do a similar job for cheaper (but also uglier). Perhaps BXI will consider sourcing a 3/4″ or 1″ thick panel. I can’t recommend these as your only acoustic panels in the room, that would be expensive. But, they do work well in conjunction with foam panels and bass traps. If you already have some egg crate foam and it’s not cutting it, add these. In short, I would buy these for any home office to help with acoustics, but I wouldn’t try building a home theater with these panels alone. Please also note that these are not for soundproofing, so if you’re looking to isolate yourself from your neighbors or traffic, you need to look at sound deadening material and/or acoustic insulation.Read more

These seem like they should help absorb sound. They’re packed down pretty tight. Still doesn’t stop the hag downstairs from banging on the wall. I think it’s just her. Update: The apartment below me was vacant so I turned up my TV and went downstairs to check it out. Couldn’t hear a thing. So I would say these panels help reduce noise.Read more

For my purposes this stuff worked great. 3 goals: a) black out the wall with projector screen b) hide water main door under screen with a durable/removable tile system, c) improve audio performance in room. Accomplished all three goals. Biggest feedback I wanted to give was I’d ther tiles were cut less than square, as others have said, I didn’t notice. Seems are almost inditectable and that’s a white wall behind them. Little patience and I think you could do anything with these. They are rigid so cutting them cleanly is best done with a craftsman handi cut or similar leverage based cutting tool – no scissors or saws. Pictures provided to prove results. Good luck.Read more

Not what I expected at all. They’re very small but thick and i guess they’re working how they’re supposed to. I have them on a few spots on a wall and door that my speakers are facing. They’ve helped make my bedroom sound a lot “drier”. Easy to hang with double sided tape and either because they’re very light or it just hasn’t gotten humid enough here in socal to make then fall yet. Either way. Decent buy at a decent price.Read more

I lined the inside of a cabinet in my kitchen which holds an ice maker. Unfortunately, the ice maker makes more sound than any other appliance in my kitchen….by a long way. This sound absorber definitely helped quiet it down. The remaining sound comes out the front of the ice maker which is where the fan pushes warmed exhaust air. I’m glad I did this small project. The material cuts easily, glues well and does what it’s meant to. Thanks.Read more

I researched product and possible panel layout before installing the panels on the wall. I decided to buy these panels because the reviews were good and some mentioned sound deadening and blocking and of course they dit my budget. Unfortunately i moved from one noisy apartment to another. Walls are like paper in a NY apt. There is no such thing as quiet in NY apartments. These sound absorbing tiles will quiet your room from noise inside and coming from next door but they will not completely block all sound however, i am very happy with the outcome. Not only is my space quieter but the panels added texture and asthetic to the wall. I suggest that you use an online free tile calculator to figure out how many you need to order. There are also tile layout patterns you may want to use to add a little extra detail to the wall. I used the subway pattern and a 30% tile staggering. It Looks great! The tiles i purchased were the camel color 16×12, 6 pack. The tiles look more grey in photo but in prtson thry are a light camel color. As others have mentioned the tiles arent exactly 16×12 just a little less. The wall i was installing the tiles on is not even and my skill is novice so there were some gaps but the finished product looks great. I used scotch double sided tape in four corners and the center and so far its sticking great. Certain tiles i used more tape ex. if the wall was curved or i thiught the tile wouldnt hold overtime do to location of the tile.Read more

I needed to sound proof a bedroom door and I also bought strips for the bottom of the door and it works fantastic. It’s incredible how it has helped keep the outside noise from the house from the room. The room is used for meditation.Read more

Since having to work from home, I needed something to dampen the noise as my home office and our bedroom share a wall. We live in an old apartment building so as you can imagine the walls are paper thin! These worked great! I purchased the camel color panels and they added a nice color and texture to the overall appearance and feel of the room. I also put two on to the back of the office door and it really helped to cut down the sound coming in and going out. Because I live in an apartment, I didn’t want to stick these on the wall using two sided tape, if we move I want to be able to easily taken these down without damaging the panels or the walls, so instead I used command picture hanging strips (large size, 4 per panel)- they worked perfectly! It was definitely an added expense, but for my purposes it was worth it. If you need to cut these panels to accommodate outlets/wall size etc., a plain old utility knife does the trick! You’ll just need to be patient as you’ll have to run the utility knife through a couple of time using steady pressure to get a clean cut. One detail to pay attention to when hanging these- some panels have “veining” on one side (but all have a flat smooth side) which I didn’t notice until I had full sunlight coming into the room, so pay attention to which side you use.Read more

If you want to hide your drum beats from your neighbours, don’t buy this one, do some sound proofing inside your wall and it’ll solve some of that problems; to completely hide your drum beats, it’s impossible to do so in the first place. I bought it to eliminate my drums’ echo, and guess what, they do really well. I can definitely see why someone previously said 1 layer doesn’t work that well, if I was trying to eliminate all the echo by just using these panels, then 2 layers will definitely help the situation. However, I did purchase a set of acoustic foam to help along with these panels. As of right now, I can barely hear any echo from the drums (or from the walls, technically), and we are talking about me not wearing any hearing protection. (Picture shown doesn’t have all the panels, but you get the idea here)Read more

I’ve purchased 4(total) packages at 3 different times and their tone, thickness and finish is consistent. some people don’t feel that matters too much. But I appreciate that! I purchased these for my walls by my desk. Part for style, part for sound. I also plan to do streaming and voiceovers. So I needed something that was more permanent. [For prospective buyers] – I know it’s been clarified by others before, but for those who are looking into these. They are acoustic panels. Not sound-deadening. These will work perfectly both for a studio and as a style feature. But if you want to drum and not disturb others, it’s not for you.Read more

Over priced, but good quality. Very dense and muffles any sound passing through. However.. overpriced!! 26$ For 4 pieces? No bulk options. Are we expected to spend 600$ to cover a wall? Id spend alot more if there was a bulk size price.Read more
