I did my homework and I am extremely disappointed with Camco. Take a look at the pics. I have other Camco items for camping so I purchased this with confidence, I was very wrong. After my FIRST use, I noticed the hose swelled up in 5 different places. This was not water, it was the outer plastic coating that swelled. Thank goodness I noticed this. I will not be ordering anymore hoses from Camco. My spare $10 25′ cheap drinking hose works much better. If you have been researching, avoid this.Read more

Purchased this 10 months ago. At first seemed ok just a little stiff. Have used now every 2 -3 weeks for ~14 times with our new 5th wheel. Each time the hose has gotten more stiff and difficult to coil and uncoil. Last useage our water filter cartridge clogged up. Not understanding why I investigated and found many many grey particles clogging it. I then backtracked and found the hose to be the offender. I bent the hose end back a fourth and the same color particles came pouring out. It is the inner liner cracking and deteriorating. Not water or hard scale buildup. The hose inner liner is falling apart. Probably why campco only gaurentees for 30 days. It can’t be good to drink or cook with this. We can’t recommend this to anybody and wish we had recourse to return. I guess this one time amazon let us down.Read more

Out of the box, this is a nice hose. A little hard to get the coiling out of but has good ends, strain relief and does not funkify your water. I thought I had found a winner. Then I decided to move it off the hose holder on the pylon. It had basically petrified into that shape after one season. Not sure if it is the material in the hose, sun or something in the marina water that did it. I do filter my water with a 5 micron filter, then a water softener, and finally through a 2 micron carbon filter before it passed through this hose to the boat. I’m a stickler about any water on board needing to be safe for consumption and to taste good. I’m not quite sure if somehow the softener hardened the hose or what. But, this wasn’t the death nail for the hose. It was still usable. It just happened to be molded into the perfect shape for my slip to boat connection. But, then the surprise came. I disconnected the hose from the boat to do a wash down and brown sheets of algae come pouring out. Like lots, I figured the whole inside of the hose was coated. I didn’t have the sludge analyzed but from experience I’ll bet it was diatom algae. Not dangerous just gross. It’s a photosynthesizing algae. Which would mean this hose lets light pass through it. Not necessarily a good thing if you’re trying to avoid algae growing in your fresh water system. So, I switched over to Flexzilla. It’s drinking water safe, stays very flexible (hence the name), stretches to an extent, has good ends and is pretty damn tough. I haven’t had an algae problem with it yet but I’m keeping an eye out. It does let light through but hopefully not the right spectrum that algae needs to flourish like the Camco. If it does, the search will continue for a drinking water hose but I’ll keep the Flexzilla as a wash down hose for sure. I purchased this hose because I liked the idea of a drinking water safe hose that did not make the water taste like rubber. The hose is stiff compared to rubber hoses but I expected this and was willing to put up with it for the drinking safe feature. The first time I used it I hooked it up with a new spray nozzle and turned the water on. As soon as the pressure built up in the hose the nozzle end popped out of the hose because the fitting was not crimped properly. Did not last 1 minute. This is junk !Read more

I have bought three of these now in 50ft length over the last 4 years. I have tried during that time for less expensive hoses. Each try has resulted in a punctured hose and/or a failed spicket fitting. What a waste of $ Camco 50ft Premium Drinking Water Hose has a quality hose and quality fittings (no leaks at the spicket). This hose is the best. No problems over the last 4 years. The three I have purchased are the only hoses not in the garbage that I have tried over those years.Read more

As soon as I turned on the water for the hose, the end adapter part came off. I slid it back in and it was pretty clear the hose was way too large for the adapter to stay in place.Read more

Have had this hose for a year now and have been very happy with it. Today I noticed that the hose is starting to bulge in 3 or 4 spots and it appears that the water is getting outside of the main hose compartment and only being held in by the rubber coating. I dont think this is supposed to happen and I was hoping that it would last longer than a year. I actually have 2 other of the same hoses that have been fine for over 2 years. May be a defective hose but wanted to post and let people/the company know. Changing rating to 1 star Update, hose just sprung a leak right where the bulge is. Not the quality that I was hoping for.Read more

Camco needs to stop putting these sub 5/8″ fittings on their 5/8″ rated hoses. Don’t waste your money on the 5/8, buy the cheaper 1/2″ hose and get the same flow rate. My previous Camco 50′ x 5/8″ hose had full 5/8″ bore on the fittings. These fittings look different externally as well. The hose itself seems fine. Handles being under full pressure for days just fine. **UPDATE** My 1st Camco hose arrived late August 2020. June 1 2021 the end fitting blew off entirely. The crimp obviously inadequate to the job. Lasted a mere 9 months. The entire hose is expanded from city city pressure, possibly why the end fitting blew off. NOT RECOMENDED TO BUY!Read more

This is my favorite garden hose on the farm. We have 3 other brands we tried and this one is light enough to move around but of high quality design. I love that it is drinking water safe and the gorgeous blue shade. I can tell my toddler “you can drink out of the blue hose.” It seems trivial but the color looks so lovely in contrast to the dirt or grass so it is easy to spot without being an eye-sore. The fittings are good quality and do not leak.Read more

Feel it might be a bit too soon to review the durability and stretch on this hose. I bought it to run water to an outdoor kitchen sink. I love the hose so far, so much so that I bought another. There is absolutely no chemical taste off the water through this hose – tastes just as though it would from the indoor kitchen tap. Would recommend and will likely buy more as required (over an acre of property with MANY gardens).Read more

This hose is very difficult to roll up, very stiff. Purchase in 2017 only used summer weekends, disconnected it from TT this June 2018 on weekend camping trip, very strong rubber hose taste and smell.Read more
