We’ve been using this brand of Dog food for quite some time. We have 2 staffordshire bull terriers. Both from England, one is a retired winning show dog. Until just recently, we would drive almost an hour to the closest retailer. Now, I’ve found that Amazon can ship it. AMAZING! I am a Dog Obedience Instructor, and have taken classes specializing in Nutrition. I have reviewed plenty of other dog foods and found that Canidae out beats most of them by a landslide. I have found that the type of food you feed your pet greatly influences the way they act, the way their coat feels, and their overall health. Imagine that you lived in a diet based on mainly fast food, how do you think your body would react to that after years? Same thing with our pets. Alot of grocery store brand foods are full of junk. Canidae is a great food. Main ingredient is meat. They are also proud supporters of bully breeds. Which is the main reason we even gave them a try after winning a bag during a bull dog competition. After extensive research, we decided to stick with it. My oldest dog is now 13 and in great health.Read more

I foster abandoned and abused dogs. They do not always arrive in very good condition. I have been using Canidae for several years. I actively check information concerning dog food quality on the Internet. I have changed brands several times, if a higher quality food appeared. This Canidae food is truly superior . Even the more abused and damaged dogs love this food . After a few months of the appropriate type of Canidae, the improvement in the health of the dog becomes noticeable . Their hair quality changes completely, becoming thick and shiny. Those dogs that were wounded, or dealing with the results of severe physical abuse, not only experience a very strong improvement in health, but their mental attitude improves remarkably. I use several different types of Canidae, depending upon the age, and the health issues of each dog. All varieties of this food are fresh and superior. It is expensive food, but I have saved enormous amounts of Vet. money, purely through using the proper feeding methods on dogs in distress. I highly recommend the use of Canidae dog food. Make certain that you feed the correct variety of food for the dog in question. Do not over-feed. This food is very well-composed, and will invariably improve the health of even my most abused dogs. I have never experienced the refusal of any dog to consume this food. I also use the canned, wet, versions of Canidae for certain dogs. Again – a high-quality, and apparently extremely tasty dog food. I give many supplements, vitamins, and prescription drugs to the dogs, depending upon the particular need of each dog, and as recommended by my Vet. This is a fine and consistently high-quality food, I recommend it highly.Read more

Unfortunately this food had arrived spoiled. It was not expired on the label, had about 1 year before expiration date. However, the food had a foul smell and my mixed breed dog was throwing up shortly after eating his meals, later on he started to shed a lot more than normal and now visual hair loss is seen and rashes on his neck. My fault as a dog parent on not figuring out the source of problems sooner, but there had been a lot of new changes recently so it was hard to find the source. Hes been eating Canidae products for a while, i just believe he had a bad bag of food which was probably from improper storage while shipping or at a warehouse. Now I am just going to have to just make the quick trip to a pet store to pick up his food.Read more

So I have no idea how it tastes but since my dog dives in and eats it I’m going to assume it tastes good. When I put my dog on this food in January 2020 after being diagnosed as diabetic I was hoping he would lose a few pounds, and I’m happy to say he has enjoyed eating it and he has lost 12 lbs since January safely. His energy is better and he seems very satisfied or at least as much as a dog who loves to eat can. I love this brand for all my dogs so I do recommend it.Read more

My senior dog had lost about 9# on the the Overweight Management kibble from ProPlan BUT then she started losing a lot of her haircoat…not shedding as wrong time of year. So, I felt she needed a higher protein, high meat content kibble and switched her to the Canidae. She has put on 1 lb. and doesn’t act as starved as she did before so I hope this kibble will keep her at the weight she is now and healthier. She does like the taste of it. Canidae has a good reputation.Read more

Our pup is a bit heavy, (mostly our fault, not his). However, we were able to maintain his weight on a weight management food, though he never really had the energy level he once had. Read the reviews of Canidae Pure Weight Management food, thought we would give it a try. Our pup loves it, noticed an increased energy during our walks, sleeps more soundly, actually lost some weight very quickly. We still have a weight goal to reach and this food just may just the start we need.Read more

My pup loves the taste but he’s diabetic and this food sent his blood sugar off the charts. If your dog isn’t diabetic, could be a great choice? (I’m no nutritionist.)Read more

My dog is super picky and usually pushes her food around. I tried this out of curiosity and dumped a cup over her regular Wellness Core dog food. SHE ATE THE WHOLE THING IN ONE SITTING! Usually I have to mix in wet food just to get her to look at it! I definitely will be buying this again. Didn’t even have to transition her food, although I would recommend it. She just took to it. Also noticed the color was darker than her normal Wellness food. Guessing its the higher protein levels. Either way won’t be going back.Read more
