My kids love love love watercolor, and we go through the paper at our home. The price on this product fluctuates quite a bit so keep it in your cart for a bit and watch it – when it dips under $7 I stock up. This is a nice heavy weight, with light texturing to it. I like this large size because I can cut it in half or quarter it and the kids still have a nice size surface to work with. I am puzzled at the poor reviews. To be fair, we don’t super soak/saturate the paper normally. But it does NOT dull colors and it does NOT pile on us. Perhaps that’s because my children aren’t using any advanced techniques on the paper. I have worked with Strathmore paper before and did not find it noticeably different in how much it warps or how it absorbs color, but again – we are novice painters. 🙂 I attached two pictures of some of the vivid colors we get from this bright white paper. Be kind, the work is from my three year old!Read more

First let me say I’ve been an artist 30+ years. I do every kind of painting and now papercrafting. This is a basic paper BUT if you diecut paper for say scrapbooking or card making this paper is twice as thick and half the price of thin 65 pound cardstock that runs $12-15 for 25 sheets so this is a great alternative!! We buy several pads and cut things out for elementary age kids and they paint them at school, make keepsake ornaments etc. It holds up far better than construction paper!! I draw or stamp on it and use watercolor pencils to color in my creations, this paper is perfect for that. Another famous brand sells 4 x 5 inch sheets at 10 times the cost for the same thing! I am stocking up, and my 7 and 9 year old LOVE to paint. $5 a month to keep 2 kids busy is a bargain. I highly suggest using Inktense pencils on this paper, SUPER vibrant. We go through a pad a month easy.Read more

I first got this paper to start watercolor. I never done it before so I did not want to spend more. It is not super bad or super great, but good enough. You get alot of the price compared to other brands out there for sure. I also use this with my 0.5 mechanical pencil to draw and it does an amazing job. If you use only watercolor, it will curl up quite a bit. Will not work if you want to put on many layers. If you use graphite/pencil, it blends really well, I have been using it for my drawing/sketching (both in color lead and normal lead) I also used it for ink and a bit of watercolor. This way it barely curl at all. All in all, great for many medium and amazing price for what you get.Read more

i really like it , i use it for watercolor and find it doesn’t buckle much i use only one clip to hold paper , the lifting color is ability is great , the best i’ve seen . the paper does not permit alot of scrubbing , no need to scrub very much , paint will lift so well . i use the wet watercolor techinque but don’t soak the paper , just get it all wet and work somewhat quickly , the part next is fun and this paper handles it really well , the lifting . the sample is done on this canson paper . definately not just for kids , this paper is capable of really nice results . it works good for half fold cards , you have to cut it down slightly .Read more

The colors do NOT fade. Here is a comparison and biased against Canson since the Fluid paper is hot press and 100% cotton. I used Schminke Horadam pan paints. I do have three Kremer colors (also pans) and one of the Indigo swatches is Holbein (tube). From the fading and piling complaints of other reviewers, it sounds as if the sizing was missing and they got a bad batch. I would check who the seller was for those reviews. I haven’t done large washes with it, so I can’t attest to buckling. I usually cut down and use it for small studies and for color testing and swatch mixes. For the price level of this paper it is excellent.Read more

I teach kids art classes and I need a heavy stock that can handle the “painting style” of young kids. I just ordered 5 more packs. I’m surprised to see people commenting on the paper tearing because my kids are so rough scrubbing with their brushes and this paper held up remarkably well. I always pre-stretch it and spray it down. So there is no buckling or tearing. I have also used it for other mediums from collage to pastels. For the price, I will always have this in my studio.Read more

I wanted a lot of 140lb. watercolor paper, and I wanted it to be cheap. I should have paid attention to the other reviewers for this pad. Yes, you get 30 sheets of paper, but they’re virtually unusable for wet-in-wet and lifting techniques (both of which are vital to me!). This stuff disintegrates the second you so much as brush up against it with a qtip, and you can forget about incorporating lots of beautiful, watery layers. Guess I got what I paid for. In the interest of fairness, though, I will say this is probably still good enough for people who just want to add a touch of watercolor to ink drawings or who don’t rely on wet-in-wet.Read more

Very disappointed with how the damaged paper was handled, seller refused to give full refund even though half of it is totally unusable. It is also worth noting that this paper can only be used on one side as the reverse side is like cardboard. It also has a perforated edge at the left-hand side which was not mentioned in the description, yet another reason not to buy again. I would not buy from this seller again.Read more

This is the cheapest brand for buying good quality paper. I use a lot of water when painting and it can take it. I’ll always go back to this brand. 5 stars from me!Read more

I am happy with the quality of this paper as it works out pretty well for my watercolour practice. It can take a lot of water, but I find it dries fast. Not easy to do much wet in wet. But overall, it performs well.Read more
