What’s that you say? “What assembly could possibly be required?” Well, nothing that requires a screwdriver or a wrench, but you do need to find a hot place to lay these down where they will flatten out and assume a shape that doesn’t resemble a fruit rollup out of the package. Also, these are incredibly thin, as others have noted so don’t be surprised. “How thin is it”, you ask? Well, aren’t you the inquisitive one. I’d say take a few cards with the thickness of a driver’s license, stack about 4 or so on top of each other, and you get the idea. That being said I just got them, so these could be even worse (or better) than my initial opinion, but I’m leaning towards the “you get what you pay for” side and thinking these are probably not worth what I paid for.Read more

The mat is too soft and any desk chair just dents into it causing the chair to be unable to roll.Read more

Not crazy about this item. Came rolled up in a box and obviously did not lay out flat when set up. left it out for a week to see if it would flatten out on it’s own and settle in to it’s proper shape… nope! Had to to put some heat with a blow dryer over it to flatten it which took some time. Adding the extra work into something that should not have been packaged / delivered that way just doesn’t make the purchase worth it. Granted the box would be a little bigger, but this is not a rug, it’s a dense plastic that should not be rolled up unless it’s a specific type of plastic that can be rolled and self flatten properly, maybe not immediately, but after a few days. Certainly not the case here. Not worth 1 star, but can’t submit the review without out some kind of rating.Read more

***UPDATED 72 hours after first review**** This item has not flattened out. Where it was “creased” there are three ripples in it which will not go flat. This is the only reason I am giving the product 3 starts instead of the 4 I originally gave it. Had it “flattened” as the advertisement on the box stated it would, I would be a little more generous. Look, let me be honest and helpful here to anyone who is looking to purchase this – It protects your wood floor from rolling chairs such as mine which I use daily at my computer to work. So, the product is sturdy and excellent. I just really hate that it did not “flatten”. I did not like the way it was creased when put in the shipping box. Other than that, what i wrote below still stands. ***PREVIOUS REVIEW*** First things first: Good quality product for the price. It does not ship flat. I JUST received this thing and it is folded and bent. Now, it is important to READ the box it ships in. It clearly states the product is ROLLED for lower shipping costs. It also states it will “flatten” out depending on the material within 12-72 hours under warm conditions. I placed mine under the rug in my den and waiting 2-3 days to see what happens. I have no doubt this will flatten out. I will update once the 72 hours is up.Read more

Perfect for the job. Though it came rolled up, that was actually an advantage. Just rolled out onto the floor with minimal curve that lays form flat on hardwood within a couple of hours. Love the tapered edge as it makes rolling on and off super easy. Didn’t want one with the tab, just trimmed 2 small pieces to go around the legs as desk too heavy to lift. Easy to cut with scissors, but definitely send very durable. Much better than those super pricy options that work less well for more money! Also appreciate the slightly larger size.Read more

The plastic sheet doesn’t unroll, even when weighed down. It’s not usable so will be returning.Read more

For those fussing about this mat not working on CARPETS… That would be due to the fact that it’s designed for HARD FLOORS. I received this mat rolled up in a box, I unpacked the mat and allowed it to come to room temp. I then laid the mat down flat on the floor and anchored it with 6 weighted objects. I left it that way overnight. This morning my mat was ready for use. It lays perfectly flat, no wrinkles or other issues mentioned in other reviews. Im extremely pleased with my purchase, Its a great product for the price.Read more

This mat is thin! It is for hardwood floors and it would not survive on a carpet. It is about half as thick as another one I got from Costco at the same price, so value is iffy. Having said that, the mat performs well under a rolling chair on hardwood flooring. Quick tip For those users indicating it does not lie flat: just leave it in the sun for 5 to 10 minutes. It becomes pliable and flat with no effort (see pics). It might not work in the winter, so pull out a hair dryer in the cold monthsRead more

Don’t waste your money on this product. I have had mine for over a month and I have been trying to smooth it out so I can use it, and it isn’t working. It came in the shape of a jelly bean, so rather than just unrolling it and using it within a few days, I have been trying to smooth out the hills and crevices so that I can actually use it. I was trying my best to make it work, but it just isn’t flattening out. 0/5 stars, don’t waste your time or money.Read more

Overall I like the mat, the price could be a bit lower since it is just a sheet of vinyl. As with any clear plastics or vinyl, it will yellow and possibly crack overtime due to UV rays, I’ll see how long will this one last. Prior to this mat, I was using a carpet mat for my gaming chair and cleaning it was such a huge hassle, now it is much easier to spot dirt and stains. As for resolving the folds after unboxing it, I used hot water under my shower to soften it up and wipe it down quickly before laying it down. It worked for me, YMMV.. good luck.Read more
