The layout of this binder makes it unusable for my son. We first tried putting loose paper with plastic dividers between them. The plastic dividers hung over the zipper, making it impossible to close without scrunching everything up. Then we tried to put folders in there and they hung over the zipper, too. For such a HUGE binder, I’m surprised that they couldn’t lay out the rings in a way that allowed you to actually use them. If the only thing you’re putting in is a big stack of paper, I suppose it will work for you. That’s not realistic for us though. We’re returning it.Read more

This binder seemed an obvious choice to take on cruise. Lots of storage areas and totally zippable meant I could essentially use this in place of a backpack. (Our workcenter on the ship is so crowded that backpacks are not allowed.) While I will still be taking it, some things have become glaringly obvious and I wish this binder had been thought out better. 1. The 3 rings. This binder is freaking huge. There is enough space when it is totally closed that the rings could be moved close to the middle so that your papers aren’t rubbing the edge. I’ve included pictures. I am using Avery tabs, and they barely fit. Forget using page protectors, they will be torn up from opening and closing the zipper. When you stuff them in to fit, they are wrinkled. Only actual 3-hole punched letter sized paper is going to fit. In this huge binder. Yeah. 2. The pocket. Love the little zippered area. The pocket behind it, however, is going to spill its contents every time you pick up the binder by the handle or strap. When you unzip the binder, out your little items fall. There is nothing to secure it. I plan to glue in Velcro. I would say sew it in but the plastic backing makes that out of the question without using additional tools. 3. The file. While I feel his part is done well, it is still wrong side up when you have this by the handle. Friction seems to work well to keep everything in unless you have too much paper (you know, the stuff that wouldn’t fit in the rings). The one little Velcro strap keeps the contents from actually coming out, though. So yay, big cool-looking binder. Kinda bummer on the execution though. I feel the whole thing is designed more or less upside-down. I will, however, be using this until I find (or make) something better. I hope Case It can develop this thing. A good binder can actually make life a little easier when you’re stuck in a ship for months at a time.Read more

I ordered this for my child who is starting 6th grade. I purchased the 4″ binder because I have been around enough middle school children to see how much stuff they cram in these things!! The built in pouch to hold pencils is perfect, and there is enough room to add an additional pencil pouch if needed, which we did. I like the color coded tabs that I could label to try to keep my child as organized as possible (pray for me). The handle seems to be very sturdy but I like that it has the long strap so he can carry it on his shoulder. I chose the Case brand specifically because several friends and the school administration told me it was the best and would hold up the whole school year and beyond (depending on how well the child cares for it). I would highly recommend this product.Read more

This binder is no different than other Case-It binders in terms of quality but it is very large and bulky. If you are considering it for a student, take into account what the student needs to put in it. If they are required/prefer to have spiral notebooks for each subject and the stack is large, then this binder might be an option. But if it is for loose leaf paper, then consider buying the Case-it Universal 2-Inch 3-Ring Zipper Binder, which has an additional compartment in the front. The 2″ rings provide enough space for all subjects in middle school. The outside zippered pocket is for tablets/laptops and other small stuff. The 4″ (and 3″) binders don’t have a separate compartment; have smaller space for the sheets (the rings being large push the sheets outward) and this makes closing harder (folders and pocket dividers catch on the zipper); and they may not fit in the school locker.Read more

I am giving this 2 stars because the idea is genius. However, Case It needs to up its quality. Due to new legislation, students are no longer able to carry backpacks and purses to class; therefore, the school has asked that the students get 3 or 4 inch ring zipper binders to use for all 7 classes. They also need to hold a few composition books, pens, pencils, highlighters, notecards. The design of Case It is great; however, the quality is poor. School started two weeks ago, and I am on my second set of binders (I have twins). The first set of keys at binders were 3 inch from target. Inns up the 3 inch rings were divided into two 1 1/2 inches on each side of the binder. They had too much work and the rings kept popping open. So I ordered 4 inch case of binders on Amazon. Those come with single D rings The first set of case it binders were 3 inch from target. Inns up the 3 inch rings were divided into two 1 1/2 inches on each side of the binder. They had too much work and the rings kept popping open. So I ordered 4 inch case it binders on Amazon. Those come with one 4 inch D ring. I was helping my daughter switch her notebook today, and I noticed that the rings are not closing tightly. This causes her papers and dividers to get caught every time she move them back-and-forth over the rings. Additionally the pencil holder was ripped. I love this product… But I’d like to see the quality more along the lines of an Avery binder. I get the feeling that more more schools are going to go to this policy due to new legislation to protect our schools.Read more

Very handy with the pockets on the left and ring file on the right. I do find the rings very stiff to open and they snap sharply to close. Caught my finger – not pleasant. So I use plastic inserts to avoid constantly opening the rings.Read more

Read more

I bought this binder because I really needed a very large closed binder. The strap was a nice extra! I’ve only loaded up the binder and have been using it a few weeks, but I don’t know how long the rings can take opening and closing. I’m very happy so far and I love the inner side-pocket.Read more

Love the idea of this. It’s huge and definitely holds everything I wanted. But it was used. I was unaware I was buying something used. It had sharpened pencil with half used eraser in the pocket. But I will keep it cause I need it.Read more

This is the biggest zippered binder ever! It fits so much stuff. Great for school subjects like math. The zipper doesn’t seem very sturdy, but so far it’s working just fine. Love that it has a strap for carrying over your shoulder.Read more
