These have been very effective in monitoring a fruit-fly infestation that developed in our home after our standpipe ruptured and pumped loads of kitchen garbage into our drain tile. We’re still battling the flies, but putting these in the windows that have had the most population has meant no longer having to hunt and swat the little beggars. The flies are attracted to light, so we put a strip in the top corner of each window that gets the most sun in the morning – and soon there are lots of flies on the strips and none crawling in the window itself. We also found a way to turn these into an inexpensive lighted fly trap – all the more delightful when I found that an electric lighted trap costs upwards of $35!! Just attach a strip to the outside of a glass jar. You will need to add some tape to each end, because the plastic is a little stiff, and the built-in adhesive isn’t strong enough to keep it adhered to a curved surface. Then put a lighted LED tealight into the jar, close up the jar, and put it in a dark place wherever you want to catch flies. When the strip gets full, just replace it. We use “Submersible LED Tea Lights” – also available on Amazon, which are very bright and thus excellent for attracting flies. Plus you can get a set of 10 of these for about $8, so again, with a commercial electric “bug trap” going for $35, this is a much cheaper method. When summer comes I’m thinking of trying this as an alternate to an outdoor bug-zapper!Read more

I bought some of these along with another trap device (THAT one was a disaster). I placed these at key windows around the house behind blinds. Low and behold, lots of trapped flies! In fact three of the stickers have like 15 flies each… So much so that they had to be removed to reduce the macabre site of them. We didn’t even seem to have that big of a fly problem. They work great, there are no more flies. If you’re sadistic (like most Humans)….as an added bonus, many of the flies remain living on the sheets for days, helplessly twitching and giving out the occasional, pathetic (barely audible) buzz. So not only can you decimate the fly population, but you can also loom over their demise, bellowing out a dark, evil laughter whenever it suits you. “What is best in life, human….?” (Conan reference)Read more

These fly strips were great, and I may even purchase more next summer. I have mostly positive things to say about them, but there were a couple of drawbacks. On the positive side, the adhesive is insanely sticky. If a fly lands on it, it’s not going anywhere. They also stand up to the “clear” promise. If you put them directly on a window, you can see that they are there, but they are very unobtrusive, and I didn’t mind having them in my home when guests came by (until they had captured flies of course). As far as the negatives, the adhesive that is on the front of these is the same adhesive on the back, and it’s a little strong for “around the house” purposes. It can’t be attached to paint or any surface you don’t think could weather the razorblade that I had to use to get the remnants of the adhesive off of the windows. For the record, the strip that was left behind on the window came off with one swipe of a glass razor, but I’d have paid an extra 50 cents for these to have masking tape adhesive on the back to make installation/removal a little easier. There’s also nothing to lure the flies in. Normal fly strips “stink”, for lack of a better word, and it draws the flies to them. These rely more on the fact that they can be placed on a window where a fly is likely to bump into them. It worked, and it worked well. Within a few days, every fly had bounced into one of these on sheer chance, and I was set, but it didn’t happen instantly. If you want something quick, you might be better off with those sickly sweet smelling film canister style rolls from the hardware store. Like I said, I’ll almost certainly be buying more of these next year. If you get them, just make sure they only go on glass/stone/steel.Read more

Excellent way to get pesky flys and other obnoxious flying things. These things are easy to put in the window, and you don’t even notice them. I put in the corner and flys stick to it well, once you get one fly it makes the other flys jealous and they all want in on the party. My wife hates chemicals and she really hates all the fly traps that just look like a gross bottle of flies that you just know someone is going to drink too much and grab the fancy fly cocktail. Disposal is easy to, and you just pull off window, freak out your wife by waving it in her general direction, then sticking it to your trash bag. UPDATE: I’m still using these things with great success. I am changing this review to 6 Stars ;)Read more

Super easy application. Stuck four on my basement window where they congregate the most and within ten minutes caught three house flies due to an infestation in the house and eight by end of day. One or two managed to wiggle free I noticed but they were shortly caught again so I think the efficacy isn’t perfect but it still works pretty well. The sheets caught A LOT by the end of the last few days and this has helped because I didn’t see any more today! They seem to be all gone. Ample sheets to switch out at the end of each or every two day and they are thankfully easy to peel off. These have saved me the nuisance of swatting them every few minutes as they whizz by.Read more

I have used these window fly traps for about three years and they are excellent. I could not get them locally so ordered six packages from this seller. They are exactly the same but must be OLD stock. They have paper over the sticky part on both sides and normally it is removed easily. This item the paper is too stuck to get it off in one piece and therefore sticks together and is a very messy procedure. I will not be ordering this item on line again.Read more
