I bought this for my dad for Christmas. He has always been a kid at heart, so I wanted to give him a gift that would inspire his childlike inquisitive nature. He uses it on the back porch to look at the stars on his own and with the grandkids. It is really amazing that you can give someone an experience like that for this price. I’m sure there are better telescopes out there, but this is fantastic for beginners or casual observers.Read more

Inexpensive and works great. I lost most of the parts but what I have, allows me to see jupiter and it’s 4 moons. It’s a white dot, but I can 4 moons of another planet. That’s crazy. Our moon looks nice and detailed. I like to check out downtown from a few miles away. 5 years later and it still works well. Only small issue I have is it shakes a bit. Like it is a bit loose. Even though I tifhten it. It wouldn’t really stay still. I’ve used other telescopes that are smooth and don’t jiggle like this one. Other than that. Perfect telescope for beginners. Buy a phone adapter and bluetooth trigger to take steady pictures.Read more

We haven’t been able to see much yet, but terrific quality. We did see the craters on the moon! It’s pretty exciting. I’m 22, and it’s technically considered a beginner telescope. But I think it’s a great piece of equipment.Read more

Beautiful Telescope. I can’t believe this is a beginner telescope. It’s very light, but well made. I can’t wait until Jupiter and Saturn are close so I can get a good look at them. The moon is also cool, but I can’t wait until a new moon, so I can get a really good look at our galaxy.Read more

It’s mostly all plastic. It was really hard to look through and find stuff, admittedly though, I’ve always been bad at figuring out telescopes. It is also really lightweight so it was very jittery when looking through it. I was hoping to see mountain peaks 8 miles away up close, but I couldn’t, even with the extra lens magnifier. You get what you pay for!Read more

This was the cheapest telescope I could find that still had decent reviews. The magnification strength is pretty good! Can see craters on the moon perfectly. One thing I don’t like is after you focus on something, even if you tighten it the telescope stills moves so easily so you lose what you were looking at and have to refind it. That can be frustrating but over all I’m happy with what I got for the priceRead more

I have seen complaints about not being able to see anything other than black and that is our situation. I have had multiple people try to figure it out with no luck, following the instructions and suggestions on this page. Regardless of the solution that probably exists, it shouldn’t be this hard! Dad’s retirement present because it is a great hobby but clearly that didn’t work out.Read more

I bought this to look at stars. After reading reviews and knowing my lack of knowledge, I thought this product would perfect. After several attempts, I have not been able to view anything farther away than 50 yards. Binocholars would have been better. Also, I asked friends to try and 6 college educated adults could not get anything in view on 4 separate occasions. The latest lunar eclipse was my final attempt. What a waste!Read more

Could see all the bacteria and aliens on the moon craters. All the stars in the Andromeda clearly discernible. But most importantly, you can also see the black hole at the centre of the Milky Way. Class, today we learnt irony.Read more

I got this for my daughter for christmas. I’ve had to try it out beforehand so that we are both lost when she opens it on xmas day. I got it as it was an established brand despite some of the cheaper/same price ones being better spec’ced as I wanted peace of mind. It’s well made abeit very light. You really do need to read the instructions, as the lenses so not all go on the same way. Some can’t/don’t use the L-shaped adaptor.. The images seemed ok, but I never got to try it at night. It has a finderscope which was on my shopping list so she could focus better. It screws on each time you use it and I’m unsure if I’ll have to adjust it each time; I think I may have to. It’s pretty damn tricky to adjust as you need to line it upto the near image in the telescope before you look further away, but it is possible. My main gripe is the tripod and adjustment mechanism. As it’s light, it wobbles a bit which makes adjustment up and down/left and right a pain as you have to move it a bit this way and that to get it just right. The further the item is, the harder it is to adjust. But saying that, this isn’t a hobby for the impatient. If she likes this, then in the near future I think we will buy one with a better mount.Read more

My brother gifted it to my daughter. She’s very happy..and keeps herself occupied with it all the time..else she kept troubling me for letting her watch t.v. We can take a close view of the nearby mountains..and moon. No stars and planets.Read more
