this is a great product , works wonders if used properly. this is not a buffing compound, dont need that much elbow grease. apply and rub until it turns black , then remove with clean towel or rag, dont keep rubbing it in. repeat until shiny. it appears to dissolve the corrosion on contact and requires normal buffing ,before removing. I discovered smearing it around when it turns black to be awful and ineffective, i did small sections at a time and reapplied product ,buffing till color darkens, removal with clean rag, over and over 2-3 times worked wonders on my heavily oxidized brand new accuride bare aluminum rims . apparently its important to remove it when it turns black and that is the difference between a happy customer and a pissed off customer, i think, i still havent read the directions or know if there even is directions ,but this method worked,Read more

Wow! Just used this on all the chrome on my 17 year old vulcan nomad 1500. All the chrome was pitted and hazy, well not anymore! Now she’s just as beautiful as new again! Picture is a small test spot I did on the backside of the exhaust where it looked the worst. Literally wiped some on with a rag, buffed it for 10 seconds with a mother’s cone and wiped it off with a microfiber towel!Read more

This stuff is magic in a bottle. I used this on my 1975 Plymouth Duster’s chrome bumpers, which were in need of polishing. They were pitted from years of neglect, and no longer shone as they use to. While it doesn’t fix major pitting, it helped bring back the overall luster, so that from a few feet away, it was no longer noticeable that they were pitted. This is a much better alternative to having your chrome re-done. Follow up with Chemical Guys SP 404 16 Light Polish to protect it. See below pictures of before and after.Read more

I dont normally write reviews but I had to on this product….I have used nearly every metal polish known to man over 30+ years of riding. That ends today…This polish is great! Right consistency, easy to work with…rub it on, wipe it off. I used a blue kitchen dish sponge/scrubby that I dampened (not wet but damp)…If I ran into a stubborn area I used the scrubby side…worked great. My bike is 85% chrome but had been neglected the last couple of years because I had a couple leg surgeries…so there was some work here…I had little rust pinhead size dots all over my crash bar, and the chrome was rough feeling and water marked….This made it so easy to clean I couldn’t believe it….yes I spent hours, took off bags, windshield etc to get every inch…. Normally I kinda dread cleaning metal because it’s a pain and every other product failed in some way….I Have NO complaints and highly recommend this stuff…A little went a long way and it works better than white diamond, mothers etc, etc, etc…Oh I’m a woman too….My baby’s shining like the day I bought her 16 years ago! Worth every penny!Read more

They have a few different types, so maybe I need to find another version that would give a nicer finish. This stuff works great, but the final finish has a bit to be desired. I went over everything with Mothers and it looked great when done. This stuff removed the heavier oxidation a lot faster than Mothers. Unfortunately, it was a lot of extra work. Nothing wrong with this stuff. I just assumed it would give a really nice finish and it didn’t.Read more

I spent about an hour trying to get results with this stuff on one wheel of my car. I used a polishing pad on my drill and worked the product for much longer than you should need to. In the end, I couldn’t tell and difference between the polished wheel and the other 3 wheels that I hadn’t touched. I’ve tried several Chemical Guys products and have not been impressed with any of them aside from the Honey Dew Mellon foam cannon soap- and it’s just OK.Read more

I used this polish to restore a set of aluminum Communion Plates for my church. Some of them were quite tarnished, darkened with water spots and fingerprints. I used it with the recommended microfiber sponges, changing them often as they turned black, the tarnish and impurities wiping away easily. I then polished with some new microfiber towels. I didn’t even bother trying to wash the linens afterwards; I just threw them away. It took a bit of elbow grease on some of the plates, but they now shine mirror bright! I washed the plates afterwards, then used some Turtle Wax Ice, a synthetic car wax also suitable for trim and chrome, which added a nice layer of protection: a good feel to the hand, and suitable water beading. Overall, it’s a fantastic result, and I am sure my church will appreciate their beautiful Communion Plates!Read more

I’ve never been so impressed with a cleaning product before… Whatever is in this bottle, works amazing for caked on grime. Stuff that never could’ve come off with soap and a scrub brush, came off with this product and some scrubbing. Now don’t get me wrong, it took me about two hours to scrub all 4 wheels, but I’m certain they look better than they did brand new. Moving forward, upkeep should take substantially less time, now that the hard stuff is gone. I would have given them 10 stars if I could have. This product is worth every penny.Read more

    I. Have used a number of products as I have a lot of Chrome (just under 20 feet) and many products require masking off the plastic surrounding the chrome. Heavy Metal was easy to apply and I did not mask the plastic but also did not try to get it on plastic either . It did not make a mess of the plastic which saved me a ton of work! There was a winters worth of crud built up on the chrome and I had pre treated it with a so called professional chrome protector which required masking off the plastic surrounding the chrome because if you get any on the plastic it leaves a white chalk stain that is time consuming to remove. I really needed to get the crud off and checked out Chemical Guys Heavy Metal which in Canada was a bit pricey but their products have proven themselves with me in the last couple of years and I was really glad I bought this product. No masking off plastic and it did an amazing job getting off the winter build up of Canadian winter road crud the car wash would not even touch. It was worth the price and easy to apply. As you can see I have a lot of CHROME and she is shining like new again and it did not take long at all. Greatest product I have used so far and I got my shine back ! I highly recommend Heavy Metal Chrome Polish!Read more

I was a little bit suspicious about the Chemical Guys products. Did a lot of research on the Internet and YouTube videos because my bike exhaust pipes had plastic melted on it. Learned the lesson: my bike is not a jacket hanger! I’ve removed the melted plastic with 0000 steel wool and applied the Heavy Metal Wax. My bike chromes ended up super shiny and clean. I totally recommend Chemical Guys products.Read more

I would suggest this product to anyone looking to polish their exhaust! I used a green kitchen scrubber dry no water and then applied the polish after nice finish. I will be doing it again though with a Red 3M scotch bright pad to get the deep heat staining out.Read more

I am a real person with a real old truck, I’m a mechanic not a detailer but I went at it with a mother’s power cone (expensive but works) I then used the white applicator pad still I had no idea what I was doing, I used a heck of a lot of polish kept adding more and more probably spent 20 minutes or more on one wheel but, MAN what a difference! I do recommend it very much so but I would also get some of the applicator pads (chemical guys) it seemed to really work well!Read more
