These work perfectly for what they are meant to do, which is to keep my kid away from putting things in the sockets. Buy to all you folks who claimed you couldn’t get them off when you needed to…. something is wrong with you. I had no problem getting these off with a little a pull from under my nail (and no, I didn’t break my nails or even come close to it). If you really couldn’t get them off when you needed to with your nails, then use a flat head screwdriver or a paint can opener. Good grief, you people act like you have no common sense! Great value! I read many reviews before purchasing and many of them stated that these were difficult to remove from the outlets. I thought “great that’s what I need! ” they fit in the outlets well. My teenager said they were hard to remove. My 2 year old begs to differ. In no time he was able to get them out and resume sticking things in the sockets. But anyone with toddlers knows that those kids are relentless and determined, and teenagers are just lazy and don’t want to try to remove the outlet covers in order to avoid vacuuming. But the outlet covers work like they are made to. The ultra clear ones like I purchased kinda fool me bc I don’t notice they are there unless I’m very close to the wall. I actually got these to keep cold air from coming through our outlets. Yes, amazingly, our house must be so poorly insulated that you can feel cool air breezing right through the outlets on the outermost portions of our house. Initially, I stuffed the outlets with special insulation intended for outlets but air still came through the holes of the plugs. Then I taped the plugs but that meant having to poke holes into them whenever I vaccumed. So, these were the perfect solution. They are quality-made and look great. These puppies fit snug. And that’s what you want – but there is no removal tool – and unless you have a plastic prying mechanism or want to break fingernails or cuss out loud, these are simply trouble in areas where you will frequently need to remove them. We will end up using them, and usually I have to use a spare one to pry one out of a socket. I just wish they had some form of integrated removal system. We ended up going with the plug protectors at IKEA, because they have an integrated set of slots that lets you take a spare outlet cover and lock it in to pull one out of the socket.Read more

**Update: I spoke too quickly. I’m giving this product a lower rating then I originally did because I’ve actually come to find out (the hard way) that they are extremely hard to remove! Which, yes, is awesome for babies and all, but when an adult cannot get these things out, there’s a problem. We’ve already had a couple BREAK OFF in the outlet. So yay. They suck. Giving this five stars because they aren’t super bulky, they’re easy to “install” and remove but not easy enough to where a child can do it, and you get a ton for your money.Read more

Very effective in terms of keeping little ones and their fingers out of sockets however, not the easiest I’ve had in terms of adult removability. I suppose you could consider this both a positive and a negative, positive being there is basically no way a child is going to get this off if completely inserted into the socket but a negative in terms of adults removing quickly to plug in a vacuum or something of that nature. Bottom line if you’re getting this to keep little ones safe it will definitely do that, it may just take a minute when you want to remove, if you’re patient this product won’t be an issue for you!Read more

These outlet covers work almost too well! They fit so tightly in the outlets that they are difficult for me to get out. I know my kids could never get them out so I’m glad they will be safe, but I wish they were a little easier for me as an adult to remove when I need to use an outlet. These are easy to insert and you can’t even tell that there is something covering the outlet. They are very hard for adults to remove. I ended up breaking one when trying to get it out of the outlet (not to mention the fingernails I’ve broken trying to get the covers off the outlet). I don’t foresee my little one being able to remove these easily.Read more
