If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I’ve been using this to grow cannabis since I started and have used this several times now for multiple grows without any issues. Sure, there can be a case that’s not like the others whether it be slightly clumpy or hairier fibers, but the plants don’t care as much as you do. I don’t usually use a full brick, I typically shave off what I need with a longer knife like shaving a turkey so I don’t waste what I don’t need and can mix in my nutrients from the very beginning. I prefer to include my inoculant, low ppm nutrients, and some organic items like cinnamon, and about 20% perlite. I then dust the top with diatomaceous earth. You can water / feed daily with this if you feed till run off, just make sure you are using plenty of cal / mag and reduce any brand chemicals, especially those with high levels of nitrogen. Just keep the cal / mag (or blackstrap molasas or whatever if you are growing organic) and root inoculant with the occasional preventative bug/mold measures with the right PH, temps, and humidity and you shouldn’t have any issues. There’s a lot to remember with growing anything and most often the problems are user error, not the coco 🙂 I’m guilty of it too. Good luck!Read more

Good stuff, this is the 1st coco coir I’ve used that doesn’t need further washing. Before soaking, my TDS (total dissolved solids) meter read 1 PPM for my reverse osmosis water, and after the Coir was soaked through, it read 238 ppm. The PH was stable reading 5.95 before, and 5.63 after. Keep in mind, local tap water in California is usually around 300-500 ppm so this tested very well for my needs. NOTE: Similar to the photo by J. Velasquez, I did find fine particles of sediment in my test measuring cup after removing the coir. The sand was heavy enough to remain at the bottom of the cup after several rinses, so I had to wipe it out with a napkin. Removing one star due to the sand.Read more

Coir is the best part of making the perfect soil mixture for gardening. So convenient to have this delivered to your door. This small block ends up giving you about 30 gallons of soil, rough estimate. Put the block in a wheel barrow or 30 gallon bin and add a few gallons of water. It will turn into a beautiful soil. I added potting soil (optional), vermiculite, rock dust and worm castings and use this in pots and containers. I took off one star because I found the Kempf brand to be a bit easier and faster to moisten and a bit less fibrous. That said, this brand is perfectly fine.Read more

Love this product! It has saved me sooo much back strain since I no longer have to make multiple trips for bags of topsoil… loading it into the cart- then the car- then from the car to the location in the yard. This lightweight brick easily replaces 5 bags of topsoil and it has been so much better in my yard which has been a bit swampy with all the rain. It soaks up water like a sponge- I live in the city with a shared sidewalk and our section is the only portion of sidewalk without huge puddles after the rain. Most importantly, I was using it to plant a new lawn after tearing out all the vines and weeds that had displaced the grass (because I wanted a weed free lawn without using any chemicals) and even though there were a few nights of unexpected frost within 2 weeks of planting the grass seed- the coco bliss provided enough protection to allow for a beautiful lawn to come in! Also, I tried some other brands of this coco mulch product and this is by far the best option because the others take FOREVER to soak up the water and require you to manually break up the product so the water can seep in… It’s a huge pain- this is not necessary with the coco bliss. It only takes like 5 min of prep after the initial 30-40 min of letting water soak the product as opposed to an hour of prep after letting it soak for several hours with other brands- save yourself the hassle if your debating between options of coco mulch- the coco bliss is the best!Read more

I purchased four 10 pound bricks and the first one I used was great, absorbed the water and puffed up great. The second one soaked for hours, no change, still rock hard. I had to spend 2 hours breaking off chunks with a machete then had to hold those chunks under water and massage them with force to break them up. Once I got to the last softball sized piece of this I was so frustrated and annoyed I just threw it over in the bushes. third block, same crap, wont absorb water and wont break apart without a machete, I just left it in the bucket. I’m not even bothering with the 4th block, i’m returning it. Absurdly inconsistent rubbish, I don’t have time to fight with this junk, they can have it back. Update: The raised bed this was put into had tiny weeds sprouting everywhere. I put about 3 inches worth of this stuff as the very top layer of the raised bed and covered it with cardboard for about a week to let it all settle. when I pulled up the cardboard there were tiny weed sprouts everywhere. Very thin delicate stem about 1 inch long and 2 tiny circular leaves on top….everywhere. Thanks a bunch!! i’m super excited to now have to deal with this in addition to the other issues I had with it. I wonder what else I can look forward to.Read more

A humorously accidentally bought this with the buy it now button, and I am really thankful I did! I started vermicomposting (composting with worms) recently as a way to reduce food waste. I have also been able to reduce the amount of paper I put into my recycling because I also add that to the compost bin. The coir mixed with the newspaper helps keep the moist bin while also absorbing excess moisture. I have seen a growth in the population of the worms, and that means less food and paper get put into a landfill.Read more

Was expecting a 10 lb brick. Instead received qty:7 @ 1.4 lb bricks. This comes out to 9.8lbs. If your going to advertise 10+ either make sure it’s over 10.Read more
