Great idea but, dogs can disconnect the seat belt by chance. A cure for this is to use a plastic cup with a slot cut in the end, insert the seat belt through and connect. It usually will last a few times and cheap to replace. Younger dogs will chew the cup so have several on hand. PJRead more

I recently bought this set (Brand A) and another set (Brand B) for my and my husband’s trucks, both of which are crew cab style. We have two large young dogs, 60lbs and 95lbs, that when we leave in the truck, they go balistic at anyone who walks by, launching themselves at the windows and digging their claws into the upholstery. We got these seat belt buckle leashes in the hopes of at least containing them to the back seat area. We ended up putting one of each design in each truck. Brand B uses a static or non-stretchy nylon strap that is slightly wider than Brand A, and a much larger/beefier collar clip, but is otherwise the same as far as being adjustable in length and having the same style of seat belt insert. We’ve been using these for about 3 weeks, and I take the dogs everywhere with me so both buckles have been getting a lot of use. I started off using the static strap for the larger dog because I was skeptical of the small clip. I recently in the last week started using the stretchy strap though, and so far it has held up just fine, I don’t see any stretch or bend marks in the metal. This could change obviously as the leashes get more and more use, but so far so good. I believe it has been working because A) The bungee design absorbs a lot of the force that the otherwise inadequate clip would have come apart with and B) The dogs have been toning down their “Stay away from my space!” level, are no longer barking as I walk away from the truck, and seem to have gained some sort of zen from being leashed in the back seat. It’s awesome. I’ll update the review if more changes. On a side note, the collapsible bowl that comes with the leashes was a great addition!Read more

These are a lie, cheap metal that gives you a huge false sense of security. Had my 35 pound dog hooked up on her harness. Had to slam on the brakes, no accident but enough to have my dog come forward against the back of the front seats. Got home, and found that they not only bent the buckle, they popped right out. They offer no actual protection. During and actual accident, they wouldn’t have done anything to protect you dogsRead more

Fit right into my 2007 Honda CRV. Has an elevator effect for emergency stop protection. Very happy with these! Now my fat little dogs won’t roll around in my backseat anymoreRead more

The media could not be loaded. I have used these for a few months and they are NOT worth it. The first one is stuck in my car’s seat belt buckle (I can’t release it and have tried everything to get it out) while the second one won’t stay buckled. My dog is only 34 pounds and any pull on the strap makes it come out of the buckle. I do not recommend this product.Read more

We have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I don’t remember reading anything in the product description or product reviews that eliminated this vehicle from these seat belts. Our Lab and Lab mix both (constantly!) step straight on the red seat belt release, and release these doggie seat belts…multiple times during every outing. We’ve tried everything to get these to work, but we still have our newest rescue riding copilot [from the back seat] every. single. time. we take the dogs out in the vehicle. We’re unsure about the usage in our other vehicles but since this is our primary (and our reason for making this purchase), I do not recommend these belts for [at least] a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.Read more

These were a lifesaver while taking our furry girls on their first long roadtrip. Normally they insist on being in a lap, and are very “vocal” when forced to ride in a crate. To our surprise they didnt mind these whatsoever, and understood they needed to go to their buckle so we could secure them in every time they got back in the car. I was worried they would get tangled with one another, but that was not an issue. Plus, they had just enough room to move around to stretch their legs from the shared middle space to their designated personal side of the backseat. These seatbelts kept them safe & secure when we had one incident of sudden braking. Our babies are on the smaller size at 6 lbs and just under 9, and these were not too big or heavy for them at all. Just secure to harness and let them go explore the roads with you.

The seat belt clip fits well. Just needed to apply a bit of force for it to grab. My one complaint is that there’s a big rubber piece on the strap with the logo that prevents it from getting any shorter passed that point, which is a shame.Read more

I need to use both at the same time because she likes to wander back and forth between the side windows and sometimes unlocks the seat belts. The elastic is quite strong and it definitely restrains her from trying to get to the front seat (she has separation anxiety and wants to be super close all the time while in the car). The pop up water dish is great. No plastic smells.Read more

Secures my puppy in the. back seat and allows him some movement to sit up or lie down. With two, I can use one for a quick attachment to his collar to go down the street or leave the other one attached to a harness for longer trips. I have no other kids, lol.Read more

I have a dog that has claimed the passenger seat of my car. That does not feel secure at all. When I use the seatbelt leash she can not hit the windshield (or it will slow her down) should the worst happen. She is also able to get to her bed behind the seat. Seems to me a win win product.Read more
