It does what they say! Confession – I’ve never bothered to leave a review before. I researched a lot of canning/Ball jar lids for our needs. We make our own salad dressing/vinaigrette, but our small bottle required making it every other night. So we decided to make it by the quart and find a nice lid. My college aged son is very particular about lids and was sure I would only find some crappy leaky lid, but this lid even passed his inspection and lived up to his tough standards! You can feel the quality in this lid – it’s totally worth the money. It screws on nice and solid and the flip-lid has a great feel to the click – it’s sort of a two-stage click-seal: there’s a first click and then a positive second secure sealing click. Awesome! The cap is wateright but you need to keep checking that the inner silicon seal is secure. The seal tends to come out of the cap during washing and you’ll create quite a mess if you pour anything without the removable seal. I learned to keep checking because (without the inner silicon ring) I created quite a mess when I tried to pour freshly made vegetable juice…the runoff stained my shirt (managed to get the stain out) and ran onto the counter. I found the missing (clear!) seal in the sink and reinserted it and the cap again was fine. I removed a star since the seal should be more secure.Read more

Sometimes it’s the little things and small details that matter and can make a big difference each day. I love using these lids for drinking from our regular mouth Ball jars filled with our personal breakfast smoothies each morning. When pressing down firmly on the cover to the little opening in the lid, it snaps in and forms a tight seal. I’m able to shake the jar without fear of spilling/leaking from it. However I don’t want to take any chance of an accident happening so I do keep my finger pressed down on the small cover of pouring opening whenever I shake up a jar, I do this just for added insurance but it probably isn’t necessary because there does seem to be a nice secure seal formed when I press down firmly enough. I was looking for sometime to store my homemade cashew milk in. I tried leaving it in my vitamin container which made it difficult to clean. I used a yeti, but the entire batch wouldn’t fit into the cup. I wasn’t able to shake either before pouring into my coffee. It’s leak proof (I keep my finger on the lid when I shake it), easy to open, and goes into the dishwasher. I also make salad dressing which is easy to serve with these lids.Read more

I’ve tried a couple of Bell jar lids and this is the best. It has more of a pour spout than some others that just have holes. The seal when you close the flip-top is so strong that at first, I couldn’t get it open again! A few times opening and shutting and it was fine. I can’t attest to leak-proof as I’m not toting this around or turning it upside down, I just use it for juice and salad dressing in the fridge, but very happy with it.Read more

Standard mason jars are the perfect size for my breakfast smoothie and I prefer glass containers over plastic. But the metals lids kept rusting so I wanted to find a replacement lid. This works perfectly! Tight seal, no leaks and easy to drink from. Seems to be well made and doesn’t feel cheap or fragile. I can toss my jar into bag without having to worry about spills. The flip cap locks into place with a satisfying “click” so while not impossible, it would take some force for it to pop open accidentally. Even though it’s dishwasher safe, I prefer to hand wash it just in case. I’m so pleased with it I would definitely buy more.Read more

We buy maple syrup in bulk from our local sugarhouse, so we store it in mason jars in the fridge. With a normal mason jar lid, the lip of the jar gets so sticky that it becomes impossible to open. This lid solves the problem as it is easy to open and close and also easy to pour from. Cleans easily in the dishwasher. This has been very useful.Read more
