I used this to create a “smart” 12V extension cord for our GM SUV. Like most GM products, the power outlets in the SUV stay “hot” when the ignition is off. This can be useful, but it can also be a problem. You really want both options available. So I used this widget and a cut-up 12V extension cord to create an auto-switched 12V outlet. The default setting on the device is stupidly low, so I removed the lid on the unit (screws under the label) and plugged the unit into the accessory jack on the SUV with the engine off. To avoid relay chatter, there needs to be some kind of load on the output, I used the charging cord for a rechargeable tire inflator. I adjusted the trimpot clockwise until the relay opened, and then tested it by turning the engine on and off. Nearly instant perfection! The unit stays disabled with the engine off, stays off until about 5 secs after engine start, and shuts off within 5 seconds of engine turn-off.Read more

I was concerned by many complaints about disconnect and reconnect voltages. S0, I bench tested it using an Eventek KPS3010D (0-30v, 0-10a) DC power supply. Both disconnect (10V) and reconnect (10.7V) repeatedly on target. I planned to use these to protect 18650 LI battery packs from over-discharge and they work perfectly. However, as it turns out, the LV module consumes so much current that it is the reason why battery packs run down even before they are used to power anything. Totally useless. So, if your LI battery packs do not feature their own LV cutoff protection, then you can’t risk using LI. I switched back to small (12aH) SLA batteries in parallel groups that I know will not discharge below 12.2 vDC (50%) over the longest night of the year (13.5 hours of darkness).Read more

not sure what this WAS supposed to do given instructions and package. Here’s the rub…. I bench tested it first, luckily.. it wouldnt cut out till 3.5 volt threshhold was reached which is useless…. Given some of the other reviews, i poked around the top label and found it had an small hole that should reach a trim pot screw, didnt line up though, so popped the lid off with a pocket knife (real tight fit) found the trim pot and attempted to dial in some realistic cutoff point. only thing i managed to do was then get NO cutoff point. its really junk!Read more

I failed to read the reviews on this device before buying, I wish I had. Connecting it to a bench power supply, it seems to do what it should. However, when I actually benchtested with a 12V 7.2Ah battery and ~1.5A load then I got the relay flutter described by other reviewers. I guess what happens is that the load brings the voltage below the cutoff point, the relay cuts the power, then the battery voltage jumps up above the cutoff point and the relay opens again. This means the relay was clicking on/off several times per second in my testing.Read more

I like the presentation, but it has the same problem as the others I have tried: At the shut-off point, it can’t decide what to do. It turn off, then on, or worse, flutters between off and on. The design needs a clean off-wait-then on when voltage returns. UPDATE: Electronis-Salon wants me to return the unit to HongKong!!! ($23 plus customs)!!! Who are they kidding??Read more

it is exactly what it says but i find the disconnect is why to low for me, i do not reccomend taking your lead acid batteries below 10.8 voltsRead more

Bought several of these to use on backup batteries for our two way radio systems. Install was easy, and zero issues so far. Would buy again without hesitation.Read more

Doesnt work correctly. Once the voltage got to 10.5v, the relay just chatters like a dead battery in a car. I contacted the seller and they sent me a replacement with the same problem.Read more
