When I decided to buy a Mumba Protective case, I wanted to make sure i got a carrying case to go with it. I strangely found this one and glad i did! The amount of hidden features shows how much thought went into designing a case so many companies are mass producing and getting wrong. 1st, the case houses the Switch PERFECTLY with my Mumba Case on. And is able to close with no problem. A matter of fact. I’m able to keep my analog stick extenders on as it can still close with ease as well (as long as top compartment isn’t fully packed). I like how discrete the outside is as it’s just a normal bag in appearance. It’s a very nice hard shell wrapped in a nylon-feeling material. And the inside zipper is woven too (which I was actively looking for which many companies failed at). I wish the exterior handle strap was thicker in appearance, but has yet to show any wear and tear. The 20 slot game cartridge holding design is smart as well along with its soft padding backs for the switch and anything else you put in between. Many companies I’ve seen neglect the space in the bottom middle to accommodate the velcro strap to hold the switch, but this one completely nails it by just putting it slightly overlapping a cartridge sleeve. So 1 extra than other cases similar to this one. I hope the pictures give this case justice. As its pricetag is so much worth it compared to VERY similar cases trying to do the same thing, but missing th mark on these hidden features and making them even more expensive than this one.Read more

TL;DR: This is the best case on Amazon for travelling with your Switch when you won’t want to play on a TV (or you’re willing to pack the dock and Switch power charger some other way). Pros: * This is the smallest case I found on Amazon that can hold everything needed to travel with a Switch, WITHOUT the dock or the bulky power charger that comes with the Switch (which is only needed when using the Switch on a TV). I’ve tried several other cases around the same dimensions, and they either had some flaws or were otherwise of slightly lower quality. * Switch fits securely in case, held in by a velcro clasp that holds on to the games organisers. * The case can easily hold the Switch, a few games, an extra pair of Joy-Cons, and a USB-C charger very easily and pretty securely. Note that I am using a standard USB-C charger and NOT the one that comes with the Switch, which I found much to bulky to be able to fit in the case without worrying about things being crushed when I closed it. According to my online research, I think any standard USB-C should be fine for charging the Switch when traveling. The special Switch charger is needed for the dock and providing extra power to play on a TV, which isn’t needed when just traveling with your Switch in this case. * Other side of case is fully covered by double-layered mesh with a zipper opening, which is more secure than some other cases that instead leave the area half-open. * 20 game slots is great. It seems hard to get bored when traveling with 20 games (plus whatever’s in your Switch). * Lays flat on a table or surface, whereas some other cases seem to have a manufacturing flaw where they will not be balanced properly and will rock back and forth if jostled. Cons: * The all black coloring is not distinctive, which means it may be easier to lose, forget somewhere, or be stolen, since it’s less visible. On the other hand, it doesn’t stand out visually, so that may mean it’s less likely to be stolen. * It’s hard to fit the power charger that comes with the Switch in this case without feeling like it’s too tight and there’s too much pressure on the case’s contents. However, this is the trade-off we make for the smaller case size, which was more important to me, since my online research suggests that standard (and smaller) USB-C charger should be fine to charge the Switch when I’m travelling. No problems so far. Conclusion: This is the best Nintendo Switch travel case on Amazon in this size category, of all the ones I have tried. The others were also great cases, but had some flaws or were otherwise of slightly lower quality than this one.Read more

This Switch carrying case is what I was looking for. What I pack in here: Switch console, Hori compact playstand and joycon straps. I leave some space for a pair of ear buds as desired. The case design is smart, shaping to the curves of the joycons, allowing the console to sit flat as well as helping to identify the top and bottom of the case. Worry not, the console is strapped in using a Velcro style fastener as well as the playstand and joy con straps being contained in a netting which can be zipped up so you don’t have to worry about anything falling out upon opening the case. The console screen is protected by two pads which double as holders for game cartridges (×20) and the case is a decent hard clam shell with some give upon applying pressure. The case is reasonably priced, does have a slight off smell but isn’t noticeable unless handling the case. I Recommend airing out the case, keeping a couple dryer sheets in contact to soak up some of the scent.Read more

most other reviews I’d just be parroting at this point pros for our household: fits switch with mumia hardcase + 2 extra joycons + other goodies looks sturdy, and makes good use of space (isn’t too bulky for no reason) will do a good job at a good price cons: phewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeee does it stink coming out of the box. let it air out for a couple days – I’m use to products made overseas sometimes having an offputting smell to them chemically but this thing smelled like 1000 burnt ladies bugs when it arrived. (don’t ask how I know ugh)Read more
