I’ve had a number of water timers similar to this one over the years but this water timer confounded me to the point where logic in the operation of it made no sense. For example I set the timer to manually run for two minutes on zone B. Zone B would start watering but never stop. Tried Zone A next and it ran as well, along with zone B now and didn’t stop. Yes, I read and re-read the instructions and my neighbor was just as confounded when he tried. I need to be able to trust something like this out of the box. I don’t want to see a high dollar water bill because this thing won’t turn off. Should just work very easily out of the box like other similar water timers I’ve purchased in the past.Read more

I was really shocked and disappointed that the timing of the two ports is tied together, that when you set the days for port A it also sets the days for port B. So when I set port A to water every day, it also set port B to water every day. I want to set port A to water every day but port B to water only on Sundays and that’s not possible with this water timer. As a result, I have to set port B to Manual watering, and on Sundays trigger the timer to water. I’m really surprised at this “feature” of the DEWENWILS Water Timer, that the days to water are tied together. Had I known this, I wouldn’t have bought it. I plan to return it.Read more

Replaced my Orbit dual outlet as it froze and busted. Since the Orbit dual was so hard to program (totally unlike the Orbit single), I went for this one based on days of research. Programming initially was a bit easier than Orbit until I came to using the Manual option. For some unknown reason, if you want to manually turn on outlet “A” for 5 mins, you MUST program outlet “B” to NOT turn on (0 mins), otherwise the thing decides to switch from A to B after 30 seconds. Really odd thought process by the programmers on this one.Read more

Easy to program, lots of timing options, four separate start times, length of watering, add pauses. It is very quiet in operation. Only shortcoming, in my opinion, is the watering days applies to both outlets. You can’t set the two outlets to operate on different days.Read more

Compared to other two station hose timers, this version of this product couldn’t be more confusing to program. The result is no confidence in the job it is supposed to do. Are my plants getting watered? I’m not sure. And, trying to manually have one zone at a time water is virtually impossible. Plus it doesn’t go back to automatic after manual operation. Plus, don’t think the poorly written “manual” is going to help. It won’t. Even the online YouTube movie is nothing more than an advertising missive. I’m hoping I can return or exchange them for the newer version and give the company a second chance.Read more

Update: Good customer support at least! After it died, I contacted Dewenwils support, and they were very quick in responding. Unfortunately they were out of stock for the 2-outlet model and were unable to ship me a replacement. But they did refund my purchase, which processed very quickly. So, even though the product didn’t work out for me, I’d be confident in purchasing from Dewenwils, based on the customer support experience. Original review: Sturdy built, clumsy interface, but nothing matters unless it works, which it doesn’t. Bought as a replacement in the fall, worked fine from September until no more watering. Brought it out of storage for Spring, and it can no longer open the valves to the two ports. The timer still works, the interface still works. I put in fresh batteries and tried to turn on manual watering to confirm it’s working, and it isn’t. Short lifespan!Read more

This looks like a good unit, and I was impressed by its build and display. HOWEVER, you must select the days of the week (or frequency) BEFORE you program each zone. Consequently, if you want Zone 1 to water M-W-F, then Zone 2 must also water M-W-F. So, if you have 2 zones, one of which requres more frequent watering that the other, this timer is not a good choice. It does not give you independent conrol of the days of the week (or frequency) for each zone. It’s too bad, because this might be a great 2-zone timer otherwise. I had to return this for a different model.Read more

This seems like it would be great if it worked correctly. Unfortunately, mine will not allow zone B to be turned off unless zone A is also turned off. In my excitement to plan my new garden, I ordered this timer too early and when I just went to use it, I learned of the malfunction and I am past the return window. I’m hoping customer service will reach out to me to make it right. **UPDATE** Customer service contacted me and sent me a new timer that works correctly! Thank you!Read more
