We had a similar B&D one that just wasn’t holding its charge very well, resulting in frustration when trying to vacuum in the car, as it would die before we were done. That said, it probably had a battery life of about 20 minutes when it was new. This vacuum definitely lasts longer than 20 minutes, though I don’t have an exact time on how long it lasts. It is also good at holding its charge. We once left it in the car for 2 weeks and it still had lots of power left. Suction-wise, I can’t say for sure if it’s better in our previous vacuum, but the brush head that it comes with really makes it easier to use on carpet, as it helps to loosen the cookie dough from the carpet very well. My wife also says that it loosens the dirt from deeper in the carpet. The attached crevice tool is really great. It easily gets out of the way when not in use, but you can’t end up losing it. It’s not going to replace my Dyson, nor would I attempt to use it to vacuum a whole room, but for the car or a small (dry) spill, it works perfectly.Read more

Doesn’t take much to clog it up. Doesn’t grab pet hair as much as you’d like it to. But you get what you pay for. These vacuums have been out for years, wonder why the technology hasnt advanced the same rate as the rest of the vacuum industry UPDATE: brush head no longer works after being used roughly 10x on a dog bed.Read more

  3. Disappointed

I purchased a Dirt Devil to vacuum my mattress. I am disappointed in its voltage & suction level and wish its opening were at least six inches wide because it takes a lot of work to vacuum with the opening of only one and a half inches! Although the addition of the revolving brush head was a bonus, it picked up the polyester fibers of the mattress top – something I didn’t expect. I also think the Devil is over – priced and it should have cost no more than about $40.00.Read more

I use this in a tent to clean air mattresses.Have not tried it on stairs.I found the battery to run down fairly fast compared to other battery products.I am not knocking it yet,the batteries may not have been fully charged even thow the indicator said so.Read more

I’ve owned this handy Dirt Devil Quick Flip for four months and it has made our lives cleaner. There are a few things that are very important to note before the gadget is ready to go. The vacuum must be charged before use. The light on top will blink slowly to indicate charging mode. I had to charge mine twice for a total of about 24 hours before it worked (probably user error). Make certain the plug is completely pushed into the socket on the vacuum, a loose cord will prevent proper charging. The vac is inoperable while it is connected to the cord, whether it is charging or not. Be certain that the vac is switched off, pushing the on/off switch toward the handle, to allow charging mode. Last, the battery will not stay charged very long in idle mode, I generally use it and within 48 hours recharge it. Once it’s fully charged this little suction machine is ready to pick up anything smaller than a quarter. What every owner needs to know – there’s a very small disposable filter inside the vac and it gets dirty fairly quickly. I could not locate a replacement on Amazon or anywhere online. Instead I had to place a phone order with the company at 1-800-321-1134. The filter is model F-101, item number 440009116. The filters are just a couple bucks a piece. The vac is pretty easy to clean out but there are a few crevices near the nozzle that collect debris which requires a little more effort to clear completely. I only wish it had a mount.Read more

The GOOD news is that this is a powerful sucking machine! The BAD news is that its manufacturer and their service sucks a whole lot more! So, I actually purchased two of these QuickFlip 16V vacuums. I bought one for myself November 2017 (about seven months ago) and another for my parents in March 2018 (only THREE months ago). So to be prepared, I always want to have at least one extra filter on-hand for emergencies. There’s two parts to the filter system, a cloth-type inner filter that lines the second piece, a plastic cup with airholes. No problems with the plastic part … So my original research said that this model (BD30025) used F-101 filters, OK cool. So in shopping around, I see that they no longer make the F-101 filters but they state that the F-4 filters PLUS an adaptor will work. Ok, not as cool but I figure they created an issue but then solved it with an alternative. Little did I know that while you can find the F-4 cloth-like filters everywhere, none of them come with the adapter AND there is no way to order the adapters as they show “out of stock” or “unavailable” at every store and online retailer. So, while I don’t mind washing out the cloth filter between uses, I DO mind that you eventually can’t tell that they started out as white. So you’ve got a sucker that sucks, of sorts. As a last ditch effort, I actually CALL Dirt Devil (or Royal Appliance, the manufacturer) and hope that they’ll maybe have at least one or two lying around somewhere, right? I mean, maximum seven month window between first purchase and today …this isn’t some prehistoric fossil that is damn near extinct? THEY ARE STILL SELLING THIS MODEL EVERYWHERE!!!! So, while the operator was nice and listened to my problem, I can hear him rat-a-tat tatting away on his computer and breathing heavy into the phone. This, in some scenarios, could be a sexual segue but in this case, it is most certainly not. So, the summary of the convo is that he doesn’t have any adapters and has no idea when an order might be available. I ask what I’m supposed to do in the meantimeand his answer, “I’m sorry, I don’t have any answers for you.” Well, that sucked even more than the original suck quotient. So, hopefully both Target and Amazon will take the vacuums back. I highly doubt this but I’m a little pissed off with RoyalAppliance/Dirt Devil at the moment. I think I figured out what the “F” in “F-4” stands for … it may rhyme with “suck moo.”Read more

I just bought this little vacuum over two weeks ago. It suctions great and the charge lasts a while. I like that it sort of beeps before the battery dies so you know beforehand. My ONLY complaint here- and I’m shocked others have not said this- is the brush tool that you snap on. It really works great! However cleaning it is an issue. I have pets, so when I use the brush attachment it of course picks up dog hair. It gets stuck in the cylinder part of the rotating brush and there is no easy way to clean it. I have to grab a screw driver, unscrew the bottom of it, and open it up where all of the cords and wires are to be able to get the hair out. Has anyone else had issues doing this? I have to be careful to put everything back in place including the rotation belt. I wish there was an easier way to clean this attachment. Someone let me know if there is and I am just oblivious to it!Read more

We selected this particular lithium ion powered cordless hand vac from the listings because it says here that it is lighter than the others on the market and it can be charged from a cable rather than a stand. That powered roller brush attachment was something extra we didn’t expect in a battery hand vac. Our first impressions is that it is much more powerful than the old non lithium of another brand it replaces. The attachable carpet roller brush seems powerful and a quick run up the carpeted stairs to pick up lint collected an amazing amount of cat hair and other dirt, really nice! The filter system is a pleasure to use compared to the older versions. Getting the attachment back off the end of the machine took some trying; finally we used a spoon handle to pry it off. And we needed to find a place nearby to put that attachment. That is workable. But, this is a first impression and doesn’t tell the long term story. We will update this review at least one more time to give potential customers a longer view. A lot depends on how the batter holds up.Read more

This is a good little machine. Light weight and easy to use. Sucks up the cat hair off the couch and chairs with the beater bar well. Sucks up crumbs pretty well. Doesn’t pick up dead plant leaves well due to the small hole the dirt goes into (ie, it sucks it up but then sticks to the opening; doesn’t go in) or heavier items like little pieces of gravel (but I didn’t necessarily expect it to..just experimenting
