This is my 2nd headset that I have purchased from Headset Advisor. I bought a wired headset from them 5 years ago, and that one still works great. Headset Advisor’s customer service is exemplary. I’m sure they serve customers who purchase hundreds of headsets at a time. I purchase just for my individual needs, and they still provide super care. My son and I are sharing this headset. I have been teaching online for 7 years and my son has been an online student for a year. We used this headset with Zoom, games, websites like Youtube, and Newrow which is a browser-based meeting system like Zoom. We did not have any compatibility problems, This headset has both USB and 3.5mm microphone / headphone connections. It’s good to have options with connecting. Both options worked very well. We used this on an old PC, a new PC, an old iPhone and an old iPad. The headset has a very long cord. It’s about 8 feet which is helpful when I need to step away from computer to grab something from my office area. The headset is comfortable. The earcups are larger than other headsets that I have. I think that adds to its comfort and helps block out other sounds in my home office. The boom is much more flexible than other headsets that I have used. I like being able to easily position it. The sound quality for both input and output is excellent. Everything was very clear. I was a little surprised to not have a manual, but that’s OK. For today’s products, not everything needs a manual. I work remotely, in sales, and that of course means I’m on the phone a lot, and my company provided headset was a Bluetooth mini in-ear thing that was fine….and that’s about all you can say about it. After a couple of years the battery degraded and somehow started developing issues connecting to its dedicated USB dongle. I wanted to look at a wired headset and this set was brought to my attention. Of course, the wire is the first thing I’m hesitant about, but it’s not that grippy/sticky rubber you find on the usual headsets – WIN. There is length enough to play with and gives you slack enough to stand up from your desk – WIN. The headset itself is great, comfortable squishy bit on top, the squishy over-ear design is nice and comfortable. with my big ears, it does get a bit achy after a few hours, but that’s a me-problem, nothing to do with the headset. First thing I did was call a colleague and straight away they remarked on how great I sounded – so the microphone is good quality – WIN WIN. Of course, the design of having a microphone that reaches around the front means that I bonk it with my coffee from time to time – that’s something to get used to, but it’s nice and moveable, and in a weird way I quite like it. the best thing about this is that it comes with a USB adapter for the 8mm jack that the headset uses. It houses a volume control, and separate mutes for your mic, and the headset, so you can mute yourself or other people independently of the platform you are using – so be careful – the tag line of this era is “I think you’re muted mate” – so there’s an extra thing to check if you’re trying to talk online. The adapter is the brilliant little extra however. I bought a headset but it only had an 8mm jack and that did not work with my laptop for some reason, so now I have a way to use those if this set decides to die someday. It feels like good build quality, the adjustable head size feels firm, so hopefully doesn’t loosen up and get floppy in the future, but I can fully recommend this to anyone from podcaster to musician to any of the other poor souls like myself in sales!
