The largest magnets in the group are about the diameter of a dime at most. The others are smaller. The small ones are small, about the diameter of a small pencil eraser. They are reasonably strong. Having an assortment is handy. Price is right. They stay where put and do what my wife asks of them, which is more than I can always say about myself. Would I buy them again? I already have.Read more

Very solid magnets! I haven’t had any issues with them breaking like others have but I am certain if I were to be careless, they are probably strong enough to break if they impacted each other. I personally don’t really care about the exact size, but they are slightly shorter than the 3mm advertised all across the variation of sizes. So if you need something that is literally 3mm, this won’t work out. Otherwise, this product appears to be very reliable and I don’t have any reasons to not buy another set once I need to.Read more

I am not usually one to write reviews. These are very strong magnets, but they are very fragile. Good thing you get 100 because they will snap in half just from clicking together. I am a school teacher and passed them out and only got a few that did not break. They should be fine to stick to a fridge and not move, but if you are going to click them apart and together and test them on metalic materials, you are guaranteed to snap them in half with gentle use.Read more

These break quite easily by snapping against themselves. This is very difficult to prevent. Yeah, they work, but not with consistency. You can find better magnets on this site for less money. This is a trash item from a trash company – go figure?Read more

Even just one of these little magnets are quite strong. 4 of the tiniest ones were glued to a plexiglass panel to hold it on a metal framed 3D printer. Holds really well. The middle sized ones work great when glued to arts and crafts to become refrigerator magnets or white board magnets. The larger ones will give you a nip if your fingers happen to be between more than one of them. I was able to lay one of the large wafers on a 1 inch thick wood countertop and move it around with another one underneath. You’ll have a hard time separating these or getting them back into their plastic storage box. Together as a mass in the box, you need to be real careful where you put these. When I got them out of an Amazon locker, they were stuck against the metal side, through the box, through the bubble wrap envelope! I was actually able to attach the entire shipping contents to the side of a file cabinet even with all the packaging. If you intend on using these, you’ll want one these glued to something that you want to hold up. If you put a flat wafer of these down on something metal, you’ll have to move the magnet to the edge of the metal object to get it off, especially the bigger wafers. They are only useable if either something is between them and the metal they are attached to or if you have them glued on something that you can use as leverage to pull them off. I glued two of these medium sized ones to the underneath of each of the head and tail of a 3D printed salamander and let the glue dry and cure for a day. You have to have the glue really dry or the magnets will just pull themselves free to attach to a metal object. These now are on my refrigerator and each holds about 4 envelopes with upcoming bills to remind me. Much stronger than normal fridge magnets! But if you just put the wafers on the fridge, you’ll have a heck of a time getting them off. Now for the reason I took one star off in my review score…These magnets are fragile. Especially the big ones. If you allow them to clack together or snap to a piece of metal hard, they do break and chip. The silver coating is just that, coating. They are not metal on the outside as they appear. The surface chips and flakes and will crack. I busted 2 of them the first day just trying to get them back into the plastic box. In groups, these will attract each other from a good foot away. If you let them clack together, they will break. So as stated above, you need to glue these down to objects you can handle and separate. You’ll end up ruining them all if you don’t use each of them separated by about a foot or so. And of course like all magnets, they have a North and South Pole. So when you try to put them all in their box, they will try to flip and snap together, breaking unexpectantly. So be prepared to hold on to them tightly and keep stacks of them separated with thick paper or cardboard to avoid breaking them. I’ve already found several uses for these and still have quite a few left. But they break so easily that you may not have them long if you aren’t careful with them. Whatever you do, keep these away from young kids. If they were to put these in their mouths and or swallow, it could be fatal. All of them are small enough to swallow. Also keep them far away from anything electronic. They can ruin TVs and monitors and magnetic media and phones and such. They also can scratch whatever they attach to if their coating has flaked off. If you are going to glue these to something, be sure to really put down a lot of glue. Because they will just break free of just a drop or so of uncured adhesives. Older kids might find these strong magnets as a great potential for pranks and cause harm to someone or their equipment. So only give these to your older kids if you are sure they are responsible enough.Read more

Many of these broke apart when just pulling one from the stack. And not just one or two – like 25% of mine are broken. Certainly don’t let your kids play with these – the result of the broken magnets are very sharp metal shards. The ones that survived do great magnet things though so two stars I guess.Read more

Neodymium magnets are usually made from sintered magnetic material that is Nickel plated to prevent mechanical failure. The $ value of this package is great, but the downside is that these magnets are very brittle, more so than I’ve purchased from other sources, and very easily chip, or break into fragments. Once either of those occurs, the magnet is done for long term use. Despite losing many magnets, for the project I was working on, these did the job, but for higher cost you might be able to get physically stronger magnets, which are more resistant to mechanical stress.Read more

Ever since I was a kid I liked playing with magnets (having an engineer as dad definitely promoted this). I ordered this kit because I wanted to have different sizes for different projects. For example, some made it into the latches for my 3d printer enclosure made from IKEA tables. Others are holding razor blades in place so that they do not get lost. One thing I never did but planned was to incorporate them into miniatures so that I can easily, and reversibly, attach them to magnetic holders during painting and transport. As others have noted, these are strong little buggers and can fracture when they snap back together so be careful! I still have a bunch left and I am sure they’ll come in handy in the future.Read more
