The product arrived quickly and customer service is excellent. I wanted to love this product because I read so many wonderful things about it, but it’s not really working for me. I had a sledding accident and damaged the nerves in my tailbone and sacrum. The pain is unbearable and sitting is nearly impossible. My pain management doctor told me to order a doughnut instead of the u-shaped cushion that I already had. Unfortunately, this one didn’t do it for me. I can’t figure out how to sit on it, and no position seems to work. I weigh 117 lbs, and the cushion feels hard to me. It also still seems to compress my tailbone despite the little trench in the back. I could see how this cushion would be great for someone with hemorrhoids, but maybe not so much tailbone and sacrum nerve injuries. I’m bummed that it’s not providing me the relief I really need.Read more

Miracle!! My 90 year old client is under weight and has a lower back/tailbone fracture. Also, she was in stage 1 bed sore. Sittting and laying down was horribly uncomfortable for her. I would try to sit her on pillows, towels, egg foam cushions…nothing would relieve her pain. Her Dr told us about this type of seat pillow and WOW it is a 100% awesome difference. Or, at least that’s what I thought at first. Okay (sigh), bring it on. I’ll try anything, I guess…at this point, I was desperate. This was the most expensive of several similar-looking products, but I figured the more expensive item would mean the most quality seat cushion, right? When it arrived, I thought a mistake had been made. The box was TINY, not nearly big enough to fit a nice, plush seat cushion. I opened the box, and was sure a mistake had been made. It just wasn’t thick enough. I had been sitting on TWO seat cushions…one on top of the other, and they had been permanently mashed down, almost literally paper thin. Those two cushions were both highly rated and now they had been reduced to thin, rock-hard pain inducers. How was this thin, little donut-style cushion going to be any different? Oh, well, I guess I’ll just have to go through the hassle of returning it. Then, I put it on my chair and sat down on it. HOLY MOLY! How could this be? For the first time in nearly a year, I didn’t feel any pain while sitting. After a long, pain-free, several hour session at the computer, this little donut bounced right back. Surely, after several more long sessions at the computer, the orthopedic donut cushion would stop bouncing back and turn into another thin, rock-hard pain inducer. It kept bouncing back after supporting my weight (235 pounds) for several more hours! Same thing the next day! Only time will tell if this cushion continues to bounce back, but so far, I’m impressed! The “Orthopedic Donut Cushion” by Ergonomic Innovations is simply amazing. I was having excruciating tailbone pain and occasional hemorrhoid pain. Not anymore! The Orthopedic Donut Cushion was obviously different from all other similar products. It wasn’t like any other “memory foam” cushion I had ever tried. If you push down hard with your thumb, it doesn’t dent nearly as easily as other memory foam cushions. Either this is a much firmer version of memory foam, or it’s not really memory foam at all, but something new and different. I don’t know how the other similar donut-shaped seat cushions on Amazon would have fared, but this higher-priced donut cushion is well worth the money. I was pleasantly surprised that this tailbone cushion was everything that the manufacturer claimed, and it actually surpassed my expectations. I was immediately impressed by the non-slip base, and by the contours in the seat to accommodate my rear end in the back, and to support my thighs in front. The 2 1/2 inch height was perfect; if it were any higher my foot could not have reached the gas pedal, and my head would have hit the roof. As for comfort, it was firm enough for good support without being hard as a rock. It was not mushy. The fabric was of good quality, not soft and furry like a child’s stuffed animal. It was so comfortable that I forgot that I was sitting on anything but my car’s own seat.Read more
