I’ll come back and update after I’ve used them a while. And I know the fl oz are listed and correct. It’s one thing to read oz, though, and another thing to actually see the bottles and hold them in your (now enormous-seeming) hands I don’t know if this will be sustainable at $40 a pop, but we’ll see. ***update*** The Good: I’ve been using this a few days now. I used the shampoo on the 1st day and the conditioner on that day and 2 more days. I used to have a very dry scalp and dandruff which I managed first with a coal tar shampoo and then with Aussie Moist shampoo. I was using both shampoos daily, though, because if I missed a day, my head would get really dry, flaky and itchy. I think the shampoos were stripping nutrients and oils from the scalp. I was attracted by the Squatch because the conditioner was daily, but the shampoo was every 2-3 days, which I hoped would avoid the stripping. And who doesn’t love all natural ingredients!? So far so good! No dandruff or excessive itching; head and hair aren’t dry OR oily. The conditioner doesn’t seem to leave any film or greasiness at all, and rinses out clean. I had tried another tea tree oil treatment (Paul Mitchell) a while ago, and I had the same problem that one reviewer of the Squatch here had- my head got extremely dry, itchy and flaky (no blood like the reviewer here, but maybe if I’d continued using it I would’ve had.) My wife tried the PM too it and had the same results, and she’s never had any scalp problems before or since. Anyway, I was worried I might have a similar reaction to this one, but not at all. The key might be in the infrequent shampooing- I wonder if the reviewer was shampooing and conditioning every day…? The conditioner has a menthol effect on the scalp, leaving it tingly like BenGay or IcyHot or Tiger Balm for a while after. For me this is a positive- my coal tar shampoo used to as well, and to me it feels like a clean, fresh feeling. A friend of mine used my coal tar shampoo once, though, and she hated it- she said ‘¡AARRRDE!’ (It BURRRNS!) So this may or may not be good for others. The Meh: The conditioner at least does have one strong herbal scent that another reviewer described as Patchouli-like. It’s definitely in that family, but patchouli oil is a bit more cloying, whereas this almost smells like you’re smelling the herb itself (if that makes sense…). It’s not an offensive smell, but if I had to choose 10 smells to emanate from my body all day, this would not make the list. It’s a medicinal herb/ poultice kind of smell. It fades gradually, but if I run my hand through my hair at the end of the day and sniff it, I can still smell it. (My wife says she likes the smell though, so there you go). The not-so-nice: Honestly, just the cost-to-volume ratio. The first 3 days I used this, I was sporting a COVID Cut (or uncut) head of hair that was about 3-4-inch-long curls all over, and the ‘nickel-sized- amount of shampoo and conditioner just disappeared in there. On the night of the 3rd day, though, I sheared myself and it’s about half an inch on the sides and back with a flop on top that’s maybe 2 inches at the longest places. I was hoping that this morning I would be able to use the recommended nickel-sized amount, but alas, that still disappeared into the hair I had left. I had to use about basically the same amount of shampoo and conditioner I would with any other brand (only from smaller bottles). I think the ‘nickel’ thing is just a gimmick to get people to buy it, thinking they’ll need to use less than other brands, and if they buy it and don’t use less, they’re somehow a weird exception or are washing their hair improperly because the directions tell them they shouldn’t need it (and that nobody else does!). Don’t believe it! The shampoo also did not lather up any more than nearly any other brand of shampoo I’ve used (even less than some, like the Aussie). Don’t expect these smaller, more expensive bottles to last as long as larger, cheaper ones from other brands. Those are all the facts! You’ll have to decide if the benefits are worth the cost. I’m giving myself a bottle’s worth of time, each, to decide. P.S.: I was going to add a 4th star because the product seems to work well and be of good quality, but the nickel trick seems like a cheap move- you definitely need to use more product than advertised. And personally, honestly, I’m just not digging that smell… ***UPDATE*** The conditioner runs out *way* faster than the shampoo! (even though the bottle is bigger). Since they aren’t sold separately, you will wind up paying $40 for bottles of conditioner, while your bottles of shampoo keep piling up.Read more

Im going to have to adjust my orginal review, this shampoo and conditioner does not do any sort of justice for my hair or scalp, a month and a half in and all it seems to be doing is dry out my hair and end up pulling hairs out when i try to lather it into my scalp. On top of all that it dried my scalp out so much i had giant flakes falling out of my hair and it caused bleeding.Read more

I liked Prompt Delivery and Packaging. My son was visiting from Dallas the morning I received it from Amazon. He is a very Picky “All Natural” type and his wife is worse!! So I gave both the bottles over to her and she carefully read ingredients suspiciously. She then responded that it had definitely passed inspection. I had already had showered so I asked My son to do me a favor and try them out as he too was headed for the shower after me. He came out with a smile and gave me two thumbs up. Said his hair and scalp were the best that he ever had after using both shampoo and conditioner. I tried the next morning and agreed with his assessment. My hair was soft and manageable and my scalp felt refreshed. I have been having a heat rash on one side of my face and this afternoon it was considerably better. I will try continuing this regimen with hopes of it continuing to perform its magic. I’ll follow up in a week to let Y’all Know “The Que Passa” Day after Report! After second application to hair and Beard my Rash is almost gone and no longer oozing and swollen. I am impressed and thankful I ordered it. I am going to order some soap next. Yee Haw! Thank You DOC Squatch.Read more

I have thick curly black Hispanic hair that usually is difficult to tame. I wanted to like this but like their body soap I am insanely disappointed. I was expecting super soft healthy hair but all I get is hair thinning and the follicles breaking out. Figured okay. Minimize my usage of the products. After washing my hair out on a daily with water I don’t see much of my hair falling. I decide to this to keep my hair clean and hairs just shedding out when I touch it. How could this be? First photo is after a shower with Squatch, Second photo is when dry. Not enjoyable at all.Read more

I absolutely love their pine tar bar soap so I was excited to give this a try…. I have a thick beard and I was looking for an alternative to normal shampoo and conditioner….. the shampoo has a slight Patchouli smell I think which I’m not a fan at all of but it does not linger after ya since it out—kinda feels like it strips your beard of all The moisture and softness… the conditioner doesn’t seem to leave my beard nearly as soft as Pantene or the like does, maybe it’s the result of the shampoo but I’m no expert for sure… I have tried so many of these beard shampoos and conditioners and I honestly think everyone is trying way to hard and the result is something that really doesn’t leave my beard as soft as the cheaper stuff ya find in the shampoo section of the big box stores… Their bar soap is amazing, their ads are hilarious and the non-scented beard oil Works great but I just don’t like The shampoo and conditioner—maybe I’m just a Neanderthal with coarse hair who hates change… Jim TRead more
