Not duct tape. They can call it duct tape, but it doesn’t stick to surfaces that way gray duct tape does. The texture is different too. The sticky part has an almost slimy texture. Maybe I got a roll that had been sitting in a hot warehouse for a long time. I won’t buy it again.Read more

if there was a minus star rating… this tape would earn it. I’m a pro advertising photog of 40 yrs. I’ve used TENS of MILES of duct tape. I’d rate myself as a duct tape pro I humbly offer. For years now I’ve avoided the “Duct Tape” brand as deficient in comparison to the other tapes available(monsters in adhesion/strength by name). I saw this Duct Tape MAX and thought… I’ll give it a try. As soon as I received it I rolled back a couple of inches. First thought, it was incredibly thin. As shown in the picture, “SEE THRU”. It felt like a cheap electrical tape, elastic, as with barely fabric in it’s construction. I couldn’t even tear it straight across because it was so thin and elastic. The adhesive… very low in hold and I can’t even imagine it’s hold long term as surely SO LOW. Sun/UV resistant? Well, you guess. The Duct brand should be embarrassed to even call it duct tape. MAX Tape?! More like PRETEND DUCT TAPE. I offered to “return it”…. they didn’t even want it back. After purchase I recalled a review where this fake duct tape was compared to other “monster” tapes and the reviewer( a trusted reviewer of many products) showed it so weak in every test he didn’t even bother to respond to it’s failures. DON’T buy unless you want cheap, thin, electrical like tape not certified to be electrical tape.Read more

The adhesive came off the tape over night. I taped together two pieces of Coroplast. There was some tension on the tape which is what I needed to hold together. I came back in the morning and the whole thing had come apart. The adhesive stayed on one of the Coroplast parts but not to the tape’s own backing. The tape itself stayed on the other piece of Coroplast. I would have expected perhaps the tape to not hold to the Coroplast if the tension was too much, but I did not expect the adhesive to let go of the tape backing.. Time for Gorilla tape.Read more

I tried to tape up a large cardboard box that had opened up on one of the corners. To my surprise, this tape would barely stick to the cardboard. The slightest movement or pressure and it came loose, peeled right off. I’ve used many rolls of common duct tape to repair cardboard boxes and this was by far the worse one. It’s so bad it’s useless. I tried fixing a 3″ length of this MAX stuff to the side of the cardboard box, and let the roll(still attached to the 3″ tape piece) hang by it’s weigh, and it(the 3″ tape piece) slide right off, that’s how useless this tape it. I fixed the problem using common masking tape… that worked the way tape is supposed to, by sticking to the cardboard (duh!) .Read more

Recently purchased a 21 year old car with an original white convertible top. It ad 2 small tears about 1/4 inch long on the folds. I used this tape on both and it’s held up to washing, weather and folding the top down. Pretty good service until I can get the top replaced.Read more

I used it to seal around my outside dryer vent. I can take it off when I need to clean the inside of my vent. It is white like my house too. LOL This is better than the person I hired to put in the dryer vent. He glued it on!!!Read more

I needed more duct tape for a specific use where there is high wear (top of a door). I had grey, industrial type duct tape before and it worked well, while regular Duck brand tape lasted only a day or two. I decided to get Duck Max to solve my problems and while it’s stronger and stickier than regular Duck brand tape, it’s still not heavy duty. I ended up getting two rolls of industrial off brand duct tape from Costco for half the cost of the single white roll of Duck brand.Read more

Of course it’s hard to handle when your trying to hold it in one hand and cut it with the other)! ; (. but thats not the reason for 4 stars. It says water proof. I had used the silver tape on this sink and it was great for a long time. Then I saw white and waterproof and thought it may be even better. It curled up on one edge. I’m think maybe it wasn’t completely dry when I put it on. Anyway, I’m going back to silver tried and true. Still a good product.Read more

This product is worth its weight in gold. The very best tape I have ever used. This is the second Duck product I have purchased to build cold-weather window inserts for my home in cold country. I like to keep the humidity at 40% in the Winter, but ALL commercial and residential windows run with condensation at that level of air comfort. My home made inserts sealed with Duck, closed cell foam insulation tape around the edges—and this heavy duty tape holding the shrink film permanently to the painted, wooden frame, does the job better than anything else I have tried over the past twenty years. In the Spring I simply remove and store the inserts for the next Winter.Read more
