   I bought this motor to replace an old tecumseh 6.0 hp motor on my sons go kart. I was sick of dealing with parts breaking on the old tecumseh. So, right out of the box this is a really nice upgrade and a sharp motor. I read a review that the carb was plastic….not mine. It’s metal as metal gets. I read another review saying it didn’t come with a starter…mine did :). It even came with battery cables attached to the motor to just plug right in to your battery. Every single detail on the amazon page about the item was accurate. We bolted it to the frame then put oil and gas into the motor. Double checked the air filter and that all plugs and wires were in place. I hooked it up to the battery and twisted the key. It started on the first turn and ran until I turned it off. It’s a noticeable upgrade in power from my old 6.0 hp tecumseh, though it runs much quieter. This duromax motor really takes after a honda motor in comparison from my experience.    I bought this for a large-ish bandsaw mill I am building (1-1/2″ x 21′ long blade). So far I am impressed with the engine. I have it mounted and have run it a little, but the mill is not yet 100% complete so I cannot yet comment on how powerful it is as related to cutting slabs. It is surprisingly quiet, pleased about that. As you may see in some questions, the included “manual” is not at all helpful for wiring up the ignition. There is a Q&A on here that has a link to the document you need for wiring this up. After getting it wired, it started right up, no issues at all. For the money, this seems like a pretty decent motor. By way of comparison, I was initially planning to buy the HF Predator motor which is a 22HP twin cylinder motor, but that one goes for about $700. To be honest, that one is likely a better fit for my project, but thought I’d try this first and maybe save some money. Time will tell. UPDATE July 2018: We have been using this successfully for a few months now on our bandsaw mill. It is working good with adequate power. Only noted downside is it does not seem to charge the battery consistently. Could be it just doesn’t have enough electrical output to do the job, but the motor itself is performing well.    My package was damaged during delivery. That being said, my trust in this company grew because of it. Once I reported the damage; customer service worked tirelessly to solve the issue. They listen to my problems and offered viable solutions. Their costumer service was spot on in my case. They actually know the product they’re selling. As for the motor; I have yet to install and run it. It is just what I envisioned I was buying. A great motor at a great price. This thing is a beast. I purchased it to replace my underpowered sawmill’s 8hp engine. I can’t believe what a good and honest deal this truly is. I highly recommend this motor and this company for anyone with a similar need.Read more

   Nicely built, easy starting, powerful engine, good price. However, the linkage from throttle lever to carb is a flimsy 3 part Rube Goldberg with multiple springs. After the first hour of running the linkage began to snap from just above idle to full throttle. This sent my go kart flying off at full speed into a wood pile. Thank goodness I wasn’t on it. After removing the gas tank for access I spent several hours figuring and tweaking and finally bending one of the linking arms to fix that, and I’ll always distrust the apparatus. I plan to wire a remote cut off switch for sure. It took me an entire long work day fabricating parts, brackets, and an additional spring for a remote throttle cable.Read more

   paired this up with a 94 amp alternator using it as a DC generator to charge my battery bank for solar. Today 5-15-17 doing the first run to see how things are doing with it and so far 4 hours later with no break just fine its purring away and low idle feeding my inverter and outputting 30 amps well till the fridge kicks on and pulls the motor down Ill be fixing that problem soon with automation controls ya gotta love what electronics these days can do with the rite combination. My personal thought on the muffler it could stand to be a bit more quiet so im gonna get another one welded to it to soften the noise a bit more I was using a generator and a battery charger before this but with the lower idle and smaller engine ill save money on fuel cost to get my pay back over time of a $900 dollar investment Yep all parts bought to do this from the ground up and 2 days taking my time to put it together. Electronics to add yet are an Idle controle (Eco Mode) and auto start control when the voltage drops to 12.1 volts Electric start is a handy thing. You may ask why not spend the money on a inverter generator? Answer: You can not have multiple functions such as direct DC power charging and use electricity for things at the same time with an inverter generator its AC only and you can not set up an auto start function with it besides i already have a 3000 watt inverter so I dont need an inverter generator. This engine ive had pretty good luck with it starting with no choke after about a 3 hour break in time it did the first start of the day today just fine with no choke and that is a great thing.Read more

   Installed in a golf cart first start was fine second start gas was poring out of the carabator . Shut it down pulled the carburetor it had something in it look likegasket sealer clean it out reset the gasket.??? Who knows what it was . The quality in today’s products just ant what it needs to be. I would buy another engine when I need one because I have medical ability . Not a big deal for me but for some it would be a return. The engine came double boxed and good shape. It runs fine and has lots of power. For a good price. Fast shipping.Read more

   Le moteur est parfait, après avoir mis l’huile et l’essence , brancher la batterie et tout vérifier le moteur est parti au premier coup de clé et ronronne merveilleusement bien. Le seul bémol c’est que l’emplacement des écrous pour installer une pompe à pression est parfait mais les écrous ne sont pas inclus et ceux qui accompagnent la pompe n’ont pas les bon filets et même chose pour ceux de l’ancienne pompe!!! Si les filets d’écrous ne sont pas standards il devrait être fourni avec le moteur.Read more
