These are great. I bought these as math manipulatives for my 5 yr old who is starting kindergarden virtually for kindergarten. I bought a different set originally but she became so frustrated because they were so difficult to get together so I dont reccomend Learning Resources Stem Explorers: Mathlink Builders, 100Piece. My 2 yr old can even push and pull them apart.Read more

Stacking, building, numeracy and patterning plus more! I really like these blocks however I wish they were less hard plastic and more of a rubbery material. They make a loud clanking sound when in use. There is another brand similar that is a softer plastic material that I feel for tactile and sensory reasons may be a better alternative for a little fingers to manipulate. This seems slippery and hard to put together for some 4yr olds. They are 90% of what I wanted for them to use but like I said if they were less of a hard plastic and more of a softer material I think they’d be more successful overall. They are a good value and children do tend to use them. Some get frustrated in play when trying to manipulate.Read more

We bought our first set on eBay. We initially bought it as a math manipulative but the kids started building with them right away. My Lego “master” builder 11 year old has inherited tens of thousands of Legos. He really enjoyed these snap cubes and asked me to get more. He made weapons, flat characters, 3D characters, and aerial vehicles with them right away. As I said, my first order was from eBay and a used set. I came to Amazon and assumed the Learning Resources snap cubes would be the same quality. Wrong! They were flimsy and “sharp” as some other reviewers mentioned. On the other hand, this brand is very sturdy and fits well with our older, used set. They’re not “sharp” at all and great to build with. Even my young 2 year old enjoys playing with them. I highly recommend the clear set if you can swing it too. They’re nicer to look at. You can use them with a light table. And they add a nice dimension to the kids’ creations.Read more

Before purchasing these I looked under the specs and the “questions” to see if they were the same size and would work seamlessly with the new translucent ones also offered by the company. Since I could not find the info anywhere, I posed the question to the seller myself and they responded that indeed they do snap together and complement each other. I purchased a set of each. They snap easily into each other and these are more versatile than the blocks that just snap top into bottom. Good for counting, and grouping, and sorting, patterns and other math skills. I am told by the 5 yo that received them that they are also good for building robots and the like…Read more

I should have bought these with my fist two kids. They really work wonders for helping my daughter learn math and counting. I passed for a long time on these thinking I could use other items in my home to help with my daughters math. When I was having trouble teaching her how to count by tens I decided to try it out. WOW. She easily learned to count by tens all the way to 100 literally in a matter of minutes and completely retained it all. She has a lot of fun with them as well. Totally worth the purchase.Read more

With addition, I always just used integer blocks… however, those do not convey subtraction well enough because they are not able to broken apart. It is for this reason alone that I bought these linking cubes. I prefer these hands down for teaching subtraction. You string the big number together, then take some away, and see what is left. Then you can put it back together again and make the number you started with proving addition and subtraction are opposites or inverse to each other. I really have not found anything else that so fully engages kids in subtraction and helps them completely understand it. I am a credentialed teacher and I highly recommend these for homeschooling through classroom usage.Read more
