They really work to keep a crust flat and keep it from shrinking when blind baking. I bought a second set as I needed additional quantity to completely cover the bottom of my large pie plates. I order us enough for pre made crusts. The bonus…they are pretty and fun to play with as you wash and lay them out to dry!Read more

Baking beans are easy to use and the best way to avoid soggy bottoms on your pastry crusts for pies, quiches, etc. I like this brand because of the nice container and the colored beans. Easy to use. I like to use parchment paper instead of foil, but make sure to lay a layer of either down onto your crust before adding the beans. This way the beans won’t get dirty and it’s easier to get them back into the container once they’ve cooled.Read more

These work perfectly to keep your pie crust from shrinking. I used parchment paper to line the pie crust & then poured the beads in. Lifting the edges of the parchment paper also makes for easy removal of beads when crust is done baking.Read more

The little ceramic beans are great, but the plastic box that they come in was squashed and broken when it arrived. The container had been shipped in an envelope, but it should have been shipped in a box with plenty of bubble wrap.Read more

These are amazing, Traditionally we buy 2 crusts that are already made as my husband gets irritated that the shell falls down while it’s cooking as he makes chocolate pudding pie. These kept the crust in place for even baking and did not disappoint at all. Now i need to look up some more recipes as these gems make it easier to make a pie that comes out absolutely beautifulRead more
