Reviewing these is hard.. they do exactly what’s advertised. They absorb water and get bigger and my kids loved them. So hey 5 stars for that. However..Took about 30 seconds to realize that water beads are a playpen or outdoor activity. Took 2 minutes to realize this is NOT how to buy myself work from home time. Took 5 minutes to realize I’d made a huge mistake. Gift them to kids if you hate their parents. Parents, gift them to your kids if you love trying to pick up thousands of bouncyballs covered in vaseline. And DO NOT, under any circumstance, think it’ll be a fun idea to do in the kitchen and maybe sweep up a few wayward beads afterwards. They bounce, EVERYWHERE. In the thousands. They are slippery and pop when stepped on but are impossible to sweep or pick up. They are now called Satans Caviar and slippery-bouncy-hellballs at our house and a few loners just live permanently in every room now. So please. Be warned. Buyer beware. Good cheap fun? Sure, but hours of consequence for 5 minutes of play. Oh, and i only used a few teaspoons to start with. I have almost the whole jar left… so there’s your value for money rating.Read more

Did I read the reviews before buying this? Sure didn’t. Did I come to regret my poor life decisions? Suuuure did! I was expecting a large container filled with water beads. I opened this little envelope and pulled out an equally small container full of little colored specks. What the…?! For $6 and change I figured it was my fault for not reading something clearly or reading the reviews. It’s important to note I work night shift and had just finished a 12 hour shift when this was occurring. Tired and disappointed I decided to chuck the little specks in a feed bucket with water and figured if I got a few little water beads all would not be lost. Let’s also note that in my state of sleep deprivation, I filled up the bucket fully with water thinking it would help the handful that weren’t duds. My logic was clearly not solid. Worst. Decision. Ever: I slept for about 8 hours. I woke up, let the velociraptors we have for dogs loose and stumbled towards the coffee pot. Within seconds the raptors breached the kitchen and without delay began careening off walls and appliances. There was commotion, there were yelps, there were 8 paws in 16 different directions. Fur was flying and the line between reality and the matrix was blurred. Annoyed, I marched around the corner & that’s when I saw it. Water beads were literally everywhere, EVERYWHERE. All of them, everywhere. Like little soldiers of bright and bouncy mayhem they had over run the bucket and were now making it impossible for the dogs to stand much less put forth any coordinated movement. I extracted the bewildered balls of fur from the kitchen and put them outside. I had no idea where to start cleaning up the mess. Let me tell you, these little suckers are slippery and oh my God do they bounce. They are resistant to brooms and dust pans, happily bouncing out of the later. I finally resorted to the shop vac and I’m pretty sure a few rogue ones will just forever reside about the house. If you bought these and didn’t read the reviews like myself, I’ll pray you don’t make the same mistake I did. If you read this review, don’t underestimate that tiny container and please believe me when I say; a little goes a long way with these things. The raptors are still traumatized and these idiots would challenge a Honey Badger.Read more

I know you’re wondering if I have Amazonian hands based on the first picture. The package these things came in brought a whirlwind of emotion. At first I thought I got jipped. These things are tiny fish food sized pellets. I figured “whatever. 10 dollars gone to waste.” They were for my 6 year old so no harm no foul. I decided to try out a couple in a water glass. Like 6 or 7. It took about an hour and a half to grow to it’s full size. After seeing the testers grow, I figured I’d try a larger sample. Let me tell you. What a satisfying experience. The two in my hand are the comparable sizes. Max size and just soaked for 10 minutes. I poured about 1/3 of the tub into a fairly large Tupperware bowl.. They ended up outgrowing the original bowl and I had to disperse them through another large bowl. Running my fingers through these little beads is so amazingly therapeutic. I know they started out for my 6 year old, but I’ve played with them about 10x more than he has. I can definitely imagine soaking in a tub with these things… The only downfall is they take a while to grow. I would suggest presoaking for a while and then store until you want to use them. Edit. After soaking for a few hours, they started to overflow from the two bowls. I despersed then evenly between 3 popcorn bowls.. I added water to just above the top layer of beads in case they grow more. I added the jug to show I didn’t add more beads. So yeah. Not really sure what I was actually expecting but this has far exceeded my non-existent expectations.Read more

I really like these. I took a comparison picture. The middle is orbeez, the left is elongdi water beads which are a little smaller but great quality, the far right are the viivria water beads which are pretty large, fun to play with but break apart very easy. Out of all three items I recommend the elongdi brand because they hold up better against little hands that want to squish them. And dont be fooled by the little packaging, these things grow!Read more

Best 10ish dollars I’ve spent on my kid in a long time! After soaking overnight in the bathtub, he came out and lost his mind!!! We put them in a kiddy pool and played with them for days. I can’t lie, I would probably order them again…even without a kid. The only reason I docked one star is because they were portrayed to be larger in the pictures. With that being said they are very high quality and hold up well, then when your done with them, they are great for watering the grass. I put a picture to show the size, it’s like a very large pea, and it makes about 1.5 five gallon buckets worth.Read more
