Embark Adventure Pet/Dog Leash with Soft Padded Handle – 5 Foot Length (Teal Blue)

(13 customer reviews)

5 FOOT LEASH FOR ALL OCCASIONS: Extensive research shows a six foot leash is just too long for most occasions and leashes under four feet don’t give you enough lead. Our five foot leash is ideal for running, walking and hiking with your furry friend. We’ve also designed our leash nearly 2x thicker than standard dog leashes. 3mm thick and 1” wide with tightly webbed nylon for enhanced rugged construction….small medium and large breed dog leash
SOFT PADDED HANDLE FOR COMFORT: Features a premium neoprene padded handle for a soft and comfortable feel, so on longer walks and runs, your hand is not irritated. You’ll immediately wonder why all leashes don’t have our padding, especially a large dog leash designed to withstand strong pullers. You’ll also appreciate the soft handle if your using as a dog training leash for longer periods
REFLECTIVE STITCHING FOR VISIBILITY: We included two seems of highly reflective threading, which is visible at night and helps you be seen on your late-evening or early morning walks. In the pictures this leash has a thumb release lock to ensure no random openings. Instead I received a leash that had a simple push lock similar to an unlocking carabiner. On 4 separate occasions in the 1 week I have owned this leash it has randomly unlocked. Thinking that it was just a random user error I figured it was just myself as I have many products by embark and they have all been stellar. The other day we were crossing a busy street and the leash suddenly unlocked letting my pup run ramped into oncoming traffic. After narrowly escaping being ran over I dove in the middle of the street on top of my pup to stop her and I myself was almost hit by an oncoming car. I thought this company was reputable but to have designed such a poor quality leash with seemingly little care for the animals and humans using their products I will never purchase any of their products again. Save your animal’s and potentially your own life by buying any other product besides embark.Read more

I’ve bought this leash many times – it is comfortable to hold onto and I like that it is reflective. But they recently changed the type of clip that attaches the leash to the collar or harness. This last order had the different clip type and it is not safe! It released while walking our puppy along a well-trafficked road he went running, crossing the street multiple times! Thank goodness there were no cars coming at the time – luckily he was caught safely. I will never buy this again unless they go back to the safer clip type.Read more

The leash is solid! It has a sturdy feel and a soft comfortable handle. The clip not so much or at all. It’s super cheap feeling and sloppy. I’m going to replace mine with a S-clip, which will upgrade the leash but double its cost.Read more

I have owned and used this leash for six months now with a large breed dog. It is very durable and strong construction that I expect will last for many years. I would have given it 5 stars but the clip is not very functional especially with the loop in second handle feature. You can barely get it on the second O ring to make the leash shorter and must fight it to get off if you are so brave to do so. So forget about the multifunctional value of this leash because of the clip, it just is to troublesome. Otherwise, it works fine as a normal use leash.Read more

This is a nice well made harness – easy to adjust. I bought a small for my dad’s beagle and it worked wonderfully – no pulling, no more choking! So I ordered one for my Olde English Bulldogge, female, approximately 55 lbs. I think she actually pulls MORE with this than when she is just wearing a collar. If I attach it to the ring on the front, the pulling is definitely less, but I read somewhere that attaching it to the chest ring is only when for training, not when you are out for a walk in the woods or out at the pet store. I am keeping it because it looks so nice on her and she loves putting it on, plus I got the matching leash and it’s a great leash.Read more

It’s sturdy and I like the reflective stitching. The clip is a bit annoying because it’s TOO streamlined. They designed it to look really sleek, but that also makes it hard to see/feel which side is the one that pushes open to leash your dog. Small detail, so not worth returning. Great on everything else!Read more

This leash is pretty great! I bought this to replace a cheap leash from Walmart and this is a big step up in quality. The padded handle is comfortable and the leash fabric is substantial and well sewn. No loose stitching anywhere. This is a heavy duty leash. I have a small dog (around 12 pounds) so this is a bigger leash than I really need but it works fine. I do wish the company would offer a slightly smaller leash (like maybe a 3/4 inch width) in the future for people with smaller dogs. I would buy that in a heartbeat. But this one works great for now and seems like it will hold up for a long time. Recommended!Read more

The clip that attaches to the dog feels cheaply made and easy to open. Given others reviews, I’m nervous to walk my dog with this leash. The actual handle and fabric seem sturdy and durable. The white reflective thread is also a nice touch.Read more

Let me start off by saying that I love the Embark brand. I have their harness and love it. I also REALLY loved this lead. The handle is comfortable. The lead is attractive and I believe it to be strong. However, I have to give this a terrible rating due to something that has happened twice to us, and to another person we know that (when we told them of this issue) said they, too had the issue. The issue is the clip. I don’t know how, but twice, the clip has randomly and without notice simply unclipped from our dog’s harness. Both times, thanks to whatever lucky stars I have, my dog didn’t notice because we were just standing still. Once was on the cliffs here in Cornwall. Another was in the middle of an apple orchard. My dog isn’t a puller. This wasn’t an issue of user error (though honestly, I began to feel insane because I have no idea how this could have happened). I don’t know if it’s the design of the harness. Did the handle on the harness press into the clip? Did the metal part where you clip the lead on somehow open it? I have no clue. But I have a bolter. My dog bolts the SECOND he is off the lead, and there is nothing you can do to get him back. He is a rescue, and he is new and terrified. Thus, he bolts, taking off into the wild blue yonder, and I spent three days searching for him the first time he bolted (not because of this lead, but because we tested him off lead and he clearly failed the test). So, when this unclipped, I had a mini heart attack. I grabbed the handle on his harness, hooking him back up and then running to my car to get a second lead to clip to the front of his harness to ensure if one unclipped, the other wouldn’t. The second time, I had the second lead on, so everything was ok. Still, this has since been dumped, replaced by the Embark carabiner lead, which clips and then screws shut to be secure. If you have a dog that doesn’t bolt, this one is fine. The lead is great quality, but something about the lead with the harness equals the clip unlatching. If you have a dog that pulls or bolts, get the carabiner embark one instead. It’s so secure, I don’t use a double lead anymore.Read more

I bought this lead with the matching harness last August and started using it in September. It’s been great, however, last week the clip on the lead started to fail. Twice I have ended up with no dog on the end of the lead. This is worrying as my dog is a rescue stray and has a tendency to bolt. I am now on the look out for a better lead. Disappointing as otherwise it’s a great product.Read more

This is a great product. We’ve had other embark leads and they withstand daily use and frequent washing. The clip is more fiddly than their previous one and can be difficult when you’re wearing gloves.Read more

Romeo pulls, he gets completely over-excited at walk time, but this lead is strong and I have no worries about him biting through it. The neoprene in the handle makes it comfortable to hold and I use an elastic band to make the handle slightly smaller around my wrist. Great training lead.Read more

3rd lead I have bought. First 2 were brilliant but the 3rd had a different mechanism and is terrible. It detached 3 times and my dog nearly got hit by a car. Why change what is not broken. For all dog owners do not buy this product if it is the clip without a spindle. As I mentioned the first 2 were great but the one with a blue inner lining is a hazard. If anyone needs a photo I can attach so you can see.Read more
