I never purchased a webcam before and know little about it (so I can’t compare to high end high quality cameras). What I can say is that I got this cam so that my mom can talk to her grandson. Shockingly everything worked out smoothly. My mom isn’t computer literate but she can understand plug cable into computer to make it work. The picture quality absolutely destroys what my 720p 2013 built in laptop can do. I suspect this cam isn’t truely 2k capable but it does produce a decent enough picture for 1080p. The cams microphone does work but I can’t comment on the quality because I was using my laptop speakers. In a quiet space I could easily hear her. The auto-smart lighting (through software) seems to do a good job. My mom thought it was some sort of magic that she was well lit on the screen but less so in real life. I was less impressed but it did do something positive. The ring of LED’s on the cam seem to do what they say and what you’d expect, but combined with the software auto-lighting the lighting almost always seemed to get worse using the LED’s unless the room was pitch dark. Sort of a less is more until there isn’t any light. Also, adjusting them seemed digital even though it’s an analog adjustment -> just saying it might take an extra moment to dial in the perfect lighting. I should note that my comments are heavily weighted by the fact this camera is one of the cheapest on the market so my expectations were set low. I have zero knowledge of high end stuff. For low resolution zoom and facebook calls (which is 720p), this 2k camera should be far more than what is needed. My guess would be you’d have to buy something 3x the price to get any meaningful improvements/features. Cons: No privacy cap Mounting thingumajig to monitor technically works but I doubt it’d survive a tiny 1.0 magnitude earthquake. Perhaps all cams in this price range work like this… Adjusting the angle up/down is limited so it just barely was able to get the angle we wanted/needed (side to side is the 360 degrees so no issues with that) . The tripod is solid but takes up desk space.Read more

I bought 2 other way more expensive webcams before this and had a years worth of fuzzy, blurry, crappy out of focus work meetings and interviews. I read the reviews on this one and just got it and plugged it in and WOW! Crystal clear! I used in in low light and still didn’t need to use the light on it at all. This is the best webcam at this or any price hands down period!Read more

For this price, you will NEVER find a better camera. I’m amazed at the quality of it, the weight and secure connect-point of the monitor clip, the secure two-point thumb wheel fastener to the webcam, the quality of image produces, and the was color temperature and the lighting intensity can be adjusted.
