I was so excited to get this game. I tried three times of deleting the game and reinstalling it and it still gives me this message. I didn’t care that the game came in a broken case. I just wanted to play this game.Read more

I just love this game. I played it when it first came out and have re visited it now many years later. Some of the gameplay is a bit annoying, I never play the blitzball mini game as I haven’t a clue what that’s all about! But it does not really effect the outcome, unless you want the character Wakka’s, special weapon. The storyline is what makes this an excellent game. Not just the love story between the main protagonists, but the concepts of this whole world. The different cultures of the communities in various locations. The idea of going to the farplane, a bit like heaven, when you die. A nice mix of playable characters in your team, melee, ranged, mages, warrior types etc. My personal favourite is Auron, he should have his own game, enigmatic, huge back story, and a sexy voice! The advanced graphics make this version easy on the eye. It’s still cartoony in comparison to current PS4 games, but stunning artwork and design.Read more

A blast from the past. One of the best FFs remastered beautifully. A beautiful poignant story told against a backdrop of magic and wonder. The sphere grid system has been left intact with both still available. The fight and movement controls are still clunky but you can forgive that. The artistry and imagination of the game are outstanding. If you enjoyed the original you’ll love this. If you’re a newbie* then it will take patience to master the fights but is more than worth the effort. A bonus is the X 2 game the sequel, beautiful and standalone itself with another unique battle system. Much faster paced and slicker. It finishes the story. There is a hidden secret where you can get a happy ending, just whistle and all will come true

Final fantasy X- I’ll admit this isn’t my favourite Final Fantasy but that doesn’t mean it isn’t great. Once you get the past the story (with we’ll rounded and great characters) then it’s the best one. It’s pretty linear until the end and even though there is no traditional world map to explore you do get plenty to do. This includes 2 of the hardest mini games to ever exist. Swapping characters out to work to the strengths needed in any given fight creates a depth not found in a Final Fantasy before, or since. There is a reason this one was remastered first. However, Final Fantasy X-2. This one goes back to the job system seen so much before and in other titles since. Swapping jobs and sticking with 3 characters allows you to get use to your team and swap as needed but the flow of the game is weak. You can miss loads and the general story is much weaker than X. But overall, it’s still 5 stars and worth a play for any Final Fantasy, or RPG lover.Read more

Just a great game, hands down. The whole bonkers story is told with style, Sin is … No way! Yes way, this is an amazing game, the beautiful music complements the movie clips very well, Japanese composers are excellent. Very nice battle system mixing might and magic and Aeons! Woohoo! Summons are wicked with Valefor and Ifrit at the beginning for some serious boss ass kicking. I tend to keep my summons in overdrive mode until a boss pops up and then beat them down quickly. Also your party members, who can be switched in and out of the 3 character selection, can have overdrives as well. These I also keep until needed and unleash them on those ace bosses. Lulu is great for black magic and is h-o-t 😀 Wakka is good for aerial targets, Tidus for nimble enemies, Yuna for summons and white magic, Auron for armoured enemies, etc. The world map is big and as with all FF’s should open up later in the game to some aerial exploration for finding more goodies and exotic monsters. Brilliant story as well though the baddy is easy to spot early on. The graphics are very clean and colourful with nice effects like a moving sky, trees and grass. Bosses are a lot of fun, each has their own unique attacks and weaknesses, taking Lord Ochu down early on in the game is very satisfying. For under £20 this updated collection of 2 classic Final Fantasy games is a must buy for any game player. Ace!Read more

An incredible game when it first arrived in PS2, and you can really see the enhancements here in this remaster. An epic story, on of the most iconic in FF history, loads of fun with mini games like Blitzball (and loads of frustration with that thunder dodging challenge!), a twisting plot, villains bent on the world’s destruction, huge summons, an enjoyable growth system (the sphere grid). Replaying that game really hammered it home that turn based games are not dead and buried, the turn based system still have plenty to offer even today, demanding thought and strategy and also giving you an actual chance to enjoy the environments and battle scenes rather than whizz though them. If you can’t stand frequent story driven cut scenes or turn based games, then move along because you probably are not going to get much from this. But if you liked the original then the remaster has plenty to offer, and if you like other PS4 games from Disgaea to The Witcher, Skyrim to Blood Bowl 2, then give this a chance. It is a classic for a reason, and the remaster only improves the experience.Read more
